“Lovely Relaxing Holiday” After a long drive,arriving at Heatherfield was well worth the journey. The cottage was immaculate and very well presented. We stayed with grandparents and our 1 year old son and there was more than enough space for everyone. The cottage offers a games room, for those rainy days, 3 very spacious bedrooms, a lovely kitchen/dining area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a large living room with amazing views across to Portree. The cottage is perfectly situated with a short drive to all tourist attractions on the isle. Unfortunately the weather was against us for the first few days of our holiday which restricted us, particularly with the baby. although we were only a short drive from Portree, we were unable to walk along the main road as there were no footpaths. Apart from this small detail, we could not have been happier with our stay at Heatherfield, it was just like a home from home...with the most beautiful views. We will most definitely be back to Heatherfield with the family.

“Fantastic Skye Cottage” The Barn is a wonderful cottage set in amazing scenery. The owner, John, was very helpful and endeavored to make sure we had enough peat for the fire (which was always fun to light). The cottage, recently converted, has all the amenities necessary to make a stay stress-free, and with a shop just a few feet away there is little chance of running out of the essentials. Skye has a multitude of attractions from its scenery to its wildlife and even the chance to go fossil hunting. A week is simply not enough time to explore the island and we intend to go back in the not too distant future. The only downside (albeit relatively minor) is that the cottages' location is not central so there is quite a bit of driving to be done, especially when visiting the south of the island.

“Beautiful view and lovely apartment” We had a wonderful time in this lovely studio flat. It's perfectly designed for a couple, and all with lots of attention to detail, and high quality facilities. Great hot showers for after walking. And most importantly the most incredible view from bed. Also a great location to be between Portree and Dunvegan. Joyce was very efficient and friendly, and we had a great holiday here.

“Wow what a fantastic holiday” Anne ,Chris & Riley were very welcoming and friendly. They were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the island and the information they provided was very useful. The house has everything and more for what you require and the real fire is so welcoming. Views were amazing especially looking down to the bridge and river.We would love to return in the spring when you have longer hours of sunlight because when it gets dark it really gets dark. However the dark nights are also a bonus as we did not know there were so many stars in the sky.

“A delightful haven on the beautiful Isle of Skye” This was our fifth family summer holiday to Skye and having had a disappointing cottage last year, we were keen to find a property that was as good as the one we had rented in previous years. The three of us were not disappointed by what we saw when opening the front door.The cottage was everything we could have wanted. It was clean, superbly furnished and had all the things necessary to make a holiday enjoyable. The views from the lounge were amazing. It was lovely to watch the changing scenery and wildlife from the comfort of a warm cottage. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and we liked having the two bathrooms between us. In previous years we have stayed in Broadford, so it was good to have a more central place from which to explore the island. We even managed to visit some new area's this time. The booking process was really efficient and queries were dealt with almost by return. The owners also rang us to check that everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. Comments in the visitors book were all very complimentary. Overall, a fantastic cottage, lovely hospitality and a great holiday. We will be booking shortly for next year.

“A great base for your Skye getaway” This accomodation is very well located for getting around all the activities on Skye and is less than 15 minutes drive from Portree. The layout of the apartment is really well considered and the view across the loch is lovely. There were no negative aspects to the apartment and I would recommend this as a good choice for a holiday on Skye.

“bucolic comfortable isolation” Recommended location to get away from it all. Extremely calm with great views. Access to Uig and Portree shops within 30mins. Well-presented cottage with all self-catering necessities for a family of four. Kids loved the wildlife,countryside,including basking sharks,otters,seals, dolphins all easily spotted within a week in summer. Hebrides clearly visible from upper bedroom.

“Holiday at Home” We stayed at abhainn Cottage for a long weekend as a birthday treat. The house was beautifully finished, and the open fire was a real bonus! It is immaculately kept, with all the mod-cons and a real luxury feeling to it. The owner was on hand to welcome us, and was always available if needed. We are from the island but the cottage was perfect for a 'get away weekend'. Its located in a very peaceful area, but is only a short drive from the main town and from several beautiful beaches, so we were able to have the best of both worlds! I will definitely make a return visit to abhainn Cottage, and be recommending it to our families and friends as a must-visit!!

“A beguiling setting” Great house , superb location, very clean and comfortable. Loved the big window, you can while away a lot of time just looking out at the sea and the changing light. House was really cosy , we lit the stove a couple of times , it wasn't really necessary. but it was nice. We had a lot of clear sunny weather which meant that the stars were amazing. The night we arrived we got out of the car and looked up and saw the Milky Way, it was fabulous. Harris is beautiful , great walking on the beaches and on the mountains but the hills are tough. Bought Harris tweed and some lovely handspun yarn in Lewis. A perfect trip!

The Anchorage, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye - right on the water's edge!
This holiday has exceeded our expectations!

The location of this lovely cottage is amazing, right at the water's edge, with beautiful views from every room of the Skye Bridge and Loch Alsh. It was so relaxing in the evening to watch the colours change as the sun went down and to see the wildlife close up during the day and the many different boats and ships sailing by. The cottage is clean, comfortable and the perfect place to come home to at the end of a tiring day's walking and sightseeing. The sunny weather this week has been an unexpected bonus and Kyleakin is the ideal location for visiting Ashaig beach, Elgol with the stunning boat trip to see the seals and Loch Coruisk and the Cuillins, Portree and The Old Man of Storr, Dunvegan and the Fairy Glen. There's so much to see and do here. A week is not enough, so we'll be back! Thank you to Richard for all the useful information you sent us beforehand and for letting us use your lovely Skye home. It's been an unforgettable experience! One small suggestion. A bench in the garden would be a nice touch, so guests could sit out comfortably in the sun, not just on the rocks. … see more
Cuan Beag - Shoreline Luxury Retreat
A perfect retreat

Cuan Beag is one of the finest vacation rentals we have stayed in. My whole family fell on love with this place. It was a perfect home base for our first trip to the Isle of Skye with Portree only 15 minutes away and many highlights within an hour yet, the home itself offers so much, we found ourselves returning early in the evening to enjoy dinner and the fantastic views of the loch and wildlife. Very peaceful. The home is new and thoughtfully detailed. We really appreciated the open plan, natural lighting and how views were optimized. The kitchen is well-equipped inclusive of a few unexpected luxuries such as an expresso machine (we were beyond thrilled). Jenny, the owner was an absolute pleasure. Mol Ban is simply wonderful.

We've stayed on Harris several times and at Mol Ban twice. It feels like a beautifully calm, perfectly isolated retreat. No artificial light at night, Skye visible across the Minch, Common Seals in the bay. Well placed to explore Harris, Lewis, the Uists and Berneray. Really good base from which to make the trip to St Kilda. Eat out at the Anchorage, get an exceptionally good takeaway (seafood thermidor) from Croft 36. Try tea overlooking the beach in the garden at Scarista house. Mo Ban is bright, calm with great facilities and a glorious view - so much so that we tended to spend evenings in, rather than go out. Rare to find a holiday let of such quality that is utterly dog-friendly. Harris itself is extraordinary - wonderful beaches on the west coast, rocky bays on the east, mountains in the north. Great wildlife. Fascinating history. Some fine galleries - notably the Mission House in Finsbay. Unhesitatingly recommended. … see more

Quiet with beautiful view

Nice accommodation in the western part of Skye. Property was close to famed 3 Chimneys restaurant and also The Old School restaurant in Dunvegan for great dinners. We liked our stay because it was close enough to the sights we wanted to see yet away from the tourist centers, house was cozy once the radiators got going and warmed up very nicely, laundry and on-site parking right in front was invaluable. My only quibble is that we only received one key for the back door so we were unable to use the front door, also the finishes of the bathroom could have been nicer as the photos made it look better online. In all I recommend the property though be aware that you will be driving often on single lane roads to get there so go slowly, enjoy the views and don't hit any sheep! … see more
