“Wonderful practical and very romantic” 8 days ago me and my girlfriend stayed in this very ward and beautiful cottage, it was a 7 day stay in Glasgow, although its a cottage situated in a city it is very quite but very close to all important places to visit in Glasgow/Edinburgh. We arrived at Edinburgh airport late in the evening, picked up the car from the airport, and drove to Glasgow (50 min drive) and found waiting for us the owner of the cottage him self, although it was late after 9:00 pm he showed us around, and left all things needed for breakfast for the next morning, and that was very appreciated from us. It was a great holiday in a lovely country from a very helpful cottage owner. I would describe this cottage as wonderful practical and very romantic!

“Great Location and Clean ... but ....” The location of the apartment is amazing, it has a wonderful view on the river, and its a walking distance to Glasgow Central Station. Glasgow Centre is just behind, shops, restaurants and supermarket, everything was a walking distance. The apartment has two bed room with two double bed and sofa bed, it was enough for 4 people or three adults with two child (if they allow). The matres is a bit soft (not a medical hard matres) it wasn't my type, but it was fine. The master bed room has a small bathroom attach to it but it has no door! humid and water vapour was in the room and on the window (must open the window for a while). If you don't like the sound of the Train, this apartment is not suitable for you; although the windows are sound prove, the sound of the train till late of the day can be heard slightly. Also, the curtain doesn't have a black out, so it would be slightly bright in the morning in the rooms. The kitchen has enough plates, glasses and cutlets, but the pots were old; we could only make breakfast, but no fry egg, because the only available pan was too rusty and you don't wan to use it! there was a toaster, water boiler, microwave, dish washer, washing machine, a very good oven and stove. The Elevator was out of order for 24 hours due to a problem that made two people stuck for 10 minutes and the fireman got them out; we had to clime 8 floors to reach our apartment! thank god the elevator was ON late the next day. Other than that, every think was great, and it was nice being in the apartment for 13 days.

About Glasgow

The largest city in Scotland, Glasgow has activities for travelers of all ages and interests to enjoy. The city center of this Scottish capital offers some of the best shopping in the UK outside of London, and the abundance of concerts in all different genres of music have led it to be named a UNESCO City of Music.

Visit the medieval castles and buildings centered along Merchant City, rummage through the bargain bins and world-class fashions that can be found throughout Argyle Street, or enjoy Glasgow's entertaining nightlife filled with restaurants and pubs in the West End. There's never a shortage of things to do in this iconic city!

Be sure to make time for some of these other must-see attractions and destinations:

  • The Clyde Auditorium: This local venue has always been popular among Glasgow locals for the excellent opera and theater performed here throughout the year.
  • Glasgow University: Take a free tour of Glasgow's beautiful campus with neo-gothic architecture dating back to the late 1800s.
  • Burrell Collection: Over 9,000 pieces of artwork that were gifted to the city of Glasgow can now be found at this free gallery.
  • Watch a Soccer Game: Watch the local Celtic and Rangers clubs play in the largest soccer stadiums in Scotland.
  • Glasgow Green: This almost 600-year-old park is full of beautiful green space and also hosts a museum, winter garden, and the largest terracotta fountain in the world.
  • Provand's Lordship: Provand's Lordship is the oldest house in Glasgow, dating back to 1471, and has recently been renovated for free tours.

As one of the biggest and most cosmopolitan cities in Europe, Glasgow undoubtedly has an impressive array of events and festivals to enjoy throughout the year. Watch movies from Scottish filmmakers and Hollywood blockbusters that have been filmed in Glasgow during the Glasgow Film Festival in February, watch stand-up performances from some of the best comedians in Scotland during the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival in March, or sample the range of educational activities throughout the city at the University of Glasgow Science Festival in June.

There are many vacation rental properties available for you to choose from during your stay in Glasgow. Rent a condo in the countryside of the city with high-end amenities and all the creature comforts of home, or a luxury apartment with panoramic views of the city skyline.

Scotland also has one of the best public transportation systems in the world. Get around locally by train or bus, or travel by boat to Northern Ireland and Belgium. The historical and charming capital of Edinburgh, coast town of Prestwick, and traditional Scottish village of Houston are all excellent day trips that can be reached within an hour by car or train from Glasgow.

Perfect cottage with a gorgeous garden

The location was perfect for walking to all the local attractions. A short downhill walk to the subway station and the grocery store and a brilliant pub with nightly music. We walked everywhere as the cottage is very centrally located for getting to the university and the museums and lots of excellent restaurants. Getting to downtown Glasgow takes 12 minutes on the subway (which is clean, on time and very efficient). The best part of the cottage though, is its very friendly owners, who have a beautiful garden which they allow the renters to use. We enjoyed spending the days sightseeing and then coming back to the cottage and sitting in the garden with a glass of wine. Pertfect ending of the day!see more

Glasgow 1 Bedroom Apartment sleeps 4
Perfect little apartment for a weeks getaway.

I feel that this place was perfect for a weeks getaway. Therese was very nice, and treated our pet very kindly, and brought along some treats for her. I felt that the apartment suited our needs, and offered more than what I was expecting when I arrived. It was close to a train station, it had off street parking, as well as being across the street from a nicely sized park, that had friendly pet owners in it. It also offered the out of the city experience that I was looking for, yet still had very short driving times to Glasgow or Edinburgh, so that fun or taking in the sights was never far away. My only wish was that this place had a pamphlet about some basic things, that explained things such as how to use the washer/dryer, where to put trash out when the bin was full, or just where to put used towels before checking out. (If there was one I didn't see it.) Therese was available at all times to answer these questions, so it's just more of a wish for a person on vacation that's not used to how things work, rather than a negative. All in all - it was an excellent stay, and I won't hesitate booking it again when I visit later on this year!see more

Nice apartment in central location

The apartment was very nice. The location was great for getting anywhere in city and the train station is right across street. Because of this you can hear noise from the bus stop outside during day, but I heard nothing at night. My only suggestions are for non slip stickers on the floor of the tub/shower. And perhaps a pull down shade in the bedroom underneath the drapes. Easy check - just ring bell and front desk of hotel will buzz you in. This building is a combination hotel and private apartments. Met the owner of apartment who was helpful and pleasant. Would stay here again.see more

Really appreciated hosts helpfulness

Nice place located very near the beautiful botanical gardens. We had an excellent brunch in the nearby church, which has been turned into a bar and restaurant. Baldeep responded quickly to our requests and even went way out of his way to help us when we got lost leaving Glasgow. He was an excellent host!see more
