Description

Located 8 miles south of Portree, with panoramic and ever-changing views across the sea to the island of Raasay, the one-bedroomed apartment provides the perfect base for those looking for tranquillity and stunning scenery. Maintained to an exacting standard the apartment is both very comfortable and well-appointed. The accommodation includes an open-plan kitchen, equipped with all the usual kitchen items. A freezer, washing machine and dryer is available for use on request. A lounge-diner area makes up the rest of the ground floor, along with a compact ensuite shower room and beautiful bedroom upstairs which can be set up as a double or twin room, making it ideal for a couple or two friends. Braes Retreat adjoins the owner’s property, Glamaig Cottage and the property is set within a glorious garden, which has previously featured on television, with a lovely burn running through it and a wide variety of birds.

7 nights is the minimum booking period throughout the year, with Saturday being the check in and out day. In line with The Scottish Government’s short term let licensing system, our Highland Council licence number is HI-30354-F and is valid until 6th February 2027. We have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), rated D.

Getting around

Due to limited public transport we strongly recommend guests have their own transport whilst staying at Braes Retreat. That said, for the more adventurous cycling, hitching or walking remain an opportunity!

Interaction with guest

The accommodation is completely self-contained with its own entrance and adjoins our own home, Glamaig Cottage. We are therefore on hand should you have any queries whatsoever but at the same time the apartment offers peaceful and private accommodation. En plus, nous parlons francais.

House rules

Other things to note:
The bedroom can be reconfigured to two single beds for friends. Let us know when making a booking.
Access is via a steep pathway and might not be suitable for those unsure on their feet.
We have a friendly collie dog, Penny. If you like dogs, she will say hello then leave you alone for the rest of your stay, unless you like throwing balls for her!
Your personal property can't be covered by our insurance policy, so we recommend making arrangements for insuring your items.

How do damage deposits work?
