SECLUDED HIDEAWAY IN THE HEART OF OIA!
This charming cave House is in the heart of Oia. The 2 levels of the romantic rooftop terrace, full of flowers, are shared between Traditional Apartment, Traditional Cave and Traditional Studio cave houses. It is perfect to sit out there with a glass of wine. No direct view of the sea from the house. Patio and yard are at an underground level due to the unique architecture of Santorini.
PERFECT LOCATION FOR YOUR HOLIDAY!
The house is in the heart of Oia. Very close to the center and away from all the hustle and bustle of the main street. TRADITIONAL APARTMENT, consists of one bedroom with traditional style double bed and a living room with a large sofa bed. There is a kitchenette. The bathroom features a shower. SUNSET APARTMENT has a private spa bath.
It is nice if you want to get away to relax, write and just enjoy the life of Santorini without feeling like a tourist. The house has Wi Fi and AC - although rarely needed as the house gets a nice breeze if you leave the windows open.
The rate includes taxes and
1) A welcome assortment of bottled mineral and sparkling water, wine and juice upon arrival.
2) Breakfast provisions: honey, butter, marmalade, toasts, sugar, milk, cereal, as well as fruits, yoghurt, tea and 3 kinds of coffee, all packaged in portions following the instructions given by the WHO organization and the Greek Government. Enjoy breakfast on your private terrace with an amazing Caldera view.
3) Daily maid service, change sheet, bath and beach towels every two-three days (April-October).
4) Satellite TV, Wi-Fi and Air Conditioning.
5) By showing our privilege card, you have discounts or free deserts to some of the best restaurants in Oia and other towns in Santorini! For example a) You will be offered a desert at the picturesque & tasty restaurant of Santorini "AMMOUDI restaurant" in the port of Ammoudi!
Some more info about TRADITIONAL APARTMENT
The house was built into the volcanic ash more than 200 years ago in the traditional way. In Santorini people build their houses partially underground or into the cliffs to be protected from the wind, the cold and the summer sun. At the same time, they used doors and windows for ventilation resulting in an airy feel and the historic Santorini architecture.
The house is now modernized and comfortable, with a kitchen, air conditioning, cable tv, internet and washer. However, tall men should use caution as they enter the door frames of the traditional home.
A guest's comment: When someone visits a "Prehistoric Pompeii" as is Santorini, he should contemplate that, centuries ago, people had to adjust their life to the rocks. They used stones, mountains, seas and everything else they could, for the continuity of life after the total devastation caused by the volcanic eruption. It is remarkable that people made this land live again, full of beauty and creation! The charm of this house is at this value, which is over time and place: the power of man to be reborn from his ashes!
The beautiful garden and entrance way to the house is 13 steps down from the main pedestrian walkway of Oia.
The house is easily accessible to everything. For example a market, bus stop, coffee shop and information center are also located nearby. Despite its location to the shopping streets and the sunset viewing points, the house is in a peaceful and quiet area.
We try to conceive of our nature's resources. Please help us with the environment by being considerate with water and turning hot water off when not in use.
