Description
Grapevine Cottage is a charismatic home with real bucolic charm. It is set in a shady vineyard just a short walk down a quiet lane from the centre of ISLAMLAR village but only 8 km from Kalkan and other tourist attractions. The lane has now been fixed and is no longer bumpy!!
It has been decorated in a natural, old fashioned Turkish style with colourful kilims and textiles and original art work a feature. The two bedrooms are situated downstairs where it is cooler in summer. One bedroom is made entirely from wood and the other within the original stone building with thick stone walls. . Both bedrooms open out onto their own private patio space. The garden is a cool haven with its own small brook running past the front door. At night it is pleasant to go to sleep to the sound of running water. The spacious living room and well equipped country kitchen are upstairs taking full advantage of the panoramic views both of the sea and mountains. The upstairs is wood paneled and has a high ceiling. The balcony leads off the living area and is the nicest place to eat in the summer having a shady roof and fantastic views of the mountains and the sea. It is elevated above the vines and has been compared by some guests to a large bird's nest.
The garden is very shady and cool with running water. There is a large paved barbecue area in front of the house under the vines with two tables giving another pleasant area to sit and enjoy the garden.
There is a small duck pond and several ducks. There are also some chickens and guinea fowl and free range eggs are available.
Grapevine Cottage offers you the opportunity of enjoying Turkish village life at first hand but it is also a welcome retreat at the end of a busy day’s sight seeing or swimming along the coast.
