Description

Newly renovated Villa (July 2022) of 140 m2 with new large Beds; The view on the lagoon is fabulous from this charming house, only 5 minutes from the beaches of Graviers.

It can accommodate up to 6 people.

The service of a Housemaid is included in the rent.

« Fenêtre sur mer » looks direction south, surrounded by grazing land , it is quiet and peaceful with only 2 direct neighbours.

The next shop is reached within 10 minutes walk; Mont Lubin where you can do your shopping is only 5 minutes away by car.

The house has 3 bedrooms with air contidion and 3 spacious bathrooms ensuite.

New beds and mattresses: 2 double beds 1.80 x 2 Meters and 1 double bed 2 x 2 Meter.

The third and new bedroom has a separate entrance;

« Fenêtre sur mer » is very nice for a couple or can also easily accommodate up to 6 people.

Ringo is a great organiser and will be too pleased to get fresh fish, lobster, Crab etc for you, also boat tours in the lagoon while fishing your own lunch; Preparing your barbecue on the beach of a small Robinson Island, snorkelling …. He will cook your lunch and dinners for a small extra fee.

His wife Marie-May will attend to your needs at the house. She does the cleaning, bedding, washing, ironing every day from 8 – 12:00 except Sundays and public holidays. Her services are included in the rent of the house.

Our opinion: The best way to visit Rodrigues is to hire a 2x2 or 4x4 or a motorbike to be able to reach lonely beaches and secluded spots.

Main roads are in a very good shape trough the Island.

Buses do pass near the house. You will need some patience to get anywhere and must count with several bus changes during the journey.

People in Rodrigues are used to walk. They walk to school, they walk to work and they walk to the church for kilometres and kilometres. There are no fences; you just go straight up and down the hills until you reach the coast.

Hitch hiking is common on the Island. If you have your own car, take people with you as well. There is nothing more exhilarating than to have a bunch of Rodrigues school children on the backseat of your car chatting loudly in Creole …

There are beautiful paths in hills as well. Ringo will tell you more about it.

You told me on the phone that without refund you would leave a bad review, and here it is ; Airbnb decided that no refund was to be made; we proposed to you to leave for a hotel, but you choose to stay at the villa. We are very sorry that you made the experience of a Cyclone and understand that it must be very frightening; But it is important for travellers to get informed about weather forecast when preparing their vacation, specially during Cyclone season. Nonetheless, all guests, and you too, did get informed by Airbnb as soon as the tropical storm was declared a Cyclone! We took good care of all our guests in the different villas we rent, before and during the Cyclone; we organised a Taxi for you to go shopping; We explained to buy enough food, toilet paper ect, in case shops would stay close for more than 2 days. We gave you many candles and flashlights, other lamps with batteries, also complimentary fruits; The entire Island was cut off Electricity during the cyclone which lasted 2 days; But at your villa there was a generator and 2 tanks, each of 5000 Liter Water! You had asked not to be disturbed before 11 am and when the manager came to see you in this urgency case to explain how to use generator and water, you did not open the door. Without electricity the pump does not work, and the water runs very slowly, but it runs! So your statement is not true. It was definitely not life threatening as you’re saying ...; You were staying in a villa with concrete roof and shutters, one of the most secured places on the Island! You did get water and Electricity as soon as Ringo was able to get to you, witch is 2 days later and not 4 ...Your lack of understanding in those circumstances shocked the locals who had real problems with their houses and who suffered sever material losses, specially when you showed concern to have lost your Diving sessions ..

Response from the manager Tow beds are 1.80 x 2.00, One bed is 2.00 x 2.00 meters; Very overweight guests who unfortunately broke all 3 beds; The doors do close by pushing the handle up first, it is a safety measure.. we explain at arrival; Other guests before and after are very happy with the villa :)
