This unique custom log cabin sits in a 6.1 acre established garden with meditation pond outside, Live Oaks, Pecan, Crape Myrtles, Palms, Holly, Pine trees and more. Perfect for couples wanting peace and tranquility in a private environment.

The Edisto Island Tree house is located in Middleton Retreat, a subdivision 5 minutes from Edisto Beach through a canopy of ancient Live Oak trees along scenic Highway 174. You can visit historic churches, talk with sweet grass artisans, visit the Serpentarium, golf, fish, crab, paddle the tidal creeks, see the state park and many other interesting pleasures. All on your way to a sunset walk on the beach and a night out for dinner at a number of exquisite restaurants. Many public boat landings, all just a couple of minutes away, are there for you to slip into the water and enjoy the magic of the Low country. Also, several art galleries and shopping destinations are on the island. You are 45 minutes to historic downtown Charleston where options for entertainment are limitless.

You will love this paradise leaving re-nourished and invigorated by reconnecting with your Self and your surroundings.

The Edisto Island Tree house has a whirlpool tub in the master bedroom. Operable 4x4 roof windows over the tub and bed allow you to look at the sky and watch shooting stars. The master bedroom includes a library with an exit out to a private deck for amazing views, reading and lounging. It also has fascinating views of nature through large fixed windows. The downstairs has a shower/tub combination within a spacious bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has views of the pond, trees, perfect shade/sunlight and a meditation room. The kitchen, dining and living room are one open space showcasing vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, log walls, two additional roof windows and four large fixed windows for natural lighting.

We allow guests an opportunity to have the place to themselves but we are close if needed. On-site manager reserves the right to stay in ground level suite with separate entrance and bathroom. There is no disruption or interaction with guests unless assistance requested by guests,

A quiet natural environment located on one of S.C.'s last remaining true rural islands with beaches, rivers and teaming with wildlife.

No smoking inside. House must be left clean and in same condition as arrival. Trash must be taken to dump (approx. 2 miles-when leaving neighborhood, take left onto HWY 174, travel approx. 1 mile, dump is on the right behind gated/fenced area). $110.00 cleaning fee. $35.00 for linens if needed.

Response from the owner Previously there's been no remarks regarding locating the property. Typically, in the modern world GPS leads people where they need to go. It's unfortunate you could not see the numbers on the post. Our guest's suggestions and concerns are valued! The towel rack and cabinet door have been repaired. Originally, this house was listed as a simple secluded spiritual log cabin nature retreat with no internet or telephone. In attempts to do our best several upgrades have been made including (3) televisions, internet, additional sleeping accommodations, minor repairs as needed, etc..The hardwood floors were refinished the day before you arrived and the kitchen, living room and bathroom was painted. The house manual consists of a one page document listing the specialties of both the house and Edisto Island. Everything else is self explanatory. Most guests don't appreciate an invasive host disrupting their vacation and choose this site to remove themselves from the noise of the world. We offered contact phone numbers for questions or concerns and attempted to contact guests on multiple occasions to check conditions due to a catastrophic "1000 Year Flood" South Carolina experienced at the time. Fortunately, there were no flood issues at the house. but we are sorry the weather dampened your experience. We work towards satisfying our guests and will continue to do so. Thank you for visiting!
