i cannot recommend the Hilltop Village Home enough. The owner, Lexi, is one third american, one third Italian and one third angel. Her hospitality was second to none and had to be seen to be believed. The property itself was ideal with a huge living/dining/kitchen area and a large double bedroom upstairs with en suite toilet. It was fully equipped and had many extras we fully thought that we would have to provide, given that we were self catering. The village itself is medieval and picture postcard stuff with very friendly inhabitants... try the local bar for a quiet drink before bed. The area abounds with great site seeing all within easy reach [by car] and there is plenty to do and see. Free car parking at the house. If you are looking for a "chilled out" holiday then this is the place for you. There is the opportunity to increase the number of occupants to 4 by utilising 2 single beds in the downstairs area.

We have booked this house many times. If you want to get away from the rat race and live a little of the true Italian way then this is the place. The house has everything you need for you stay. the views are amazing and the people are so friendly. The Local shop has everything you need and the bar is an experience not to be missed.
every weekend the village put on Pizza & Pasta in the Piazza with live music. Sit back, relax, enjoy authentic food and make new friends.
The surrounding area is stunning with a visit to Lago Bolsena is a must. If you want to tour around a car is a must, but well worth it. -

I have visited Italy several times, but never experienced the real Italia until renting in Roccalvecce. It was such a great experience that after three months, I have returned to spend another three months. Living apart from the everyday tourist, you will be immersed in the best of what Italy offers the traveler: friendly people, magnificent views, food and wine to satisfy any palate, and the sights, smells, and sounds of true Italy. Situated on a small cobblestone path just below the castle wall, via del borgo, 21 is a delightful rental with two floors. As you enter on the right there is a large kitchen and to the left, a couch and double bed which can be divided into two singles. Upstairs you will find a large bathroom and bedroom with a wardrobe. The windows offer majestic western views of the lush countryside and across the valley to Celleno castle. Awake to pigeons cooing, bells tinkling around the necks of sheep, and the chimes ringing out the hour and half hour from the church steeple above. It is all very pastoral and, once experienced, I warn you, you may never want to leave. There is so much to see in neighboring area. The Civita de Bagnoregio is a city in the clouds a mere five miles away. From the local train station, the trip to Rome is an hour and six minutes. Imagine having lunch in Rome under the shadow of the coliseum and then being home for Carbonara! The people of the village are welcoming to visitors. The shopkeeper is always eager to share samples of the local cuisine. As you stroll the village, you may be greeted by a friendly villager, 97-year-old amilio for example, speaking only Italian. Soon you will find yourself deep in conversation, nodding and smiling, neither of you caring if the words spoken are understood, but reveling in a shared presence. The house managers, Alexandra and Maurizio are committed to you having a memorable holiday. They could not do enough for me. Book now, I know you will not be disappointed.
