“An exceptional, modern, well maintained apartment in a perfect location” We’ve all heard about “heightened expectations” and “diminished performance”. We had heightened expectations but in the case of the Spanish Steps Apartment, the performance exceeded those expectations. We were there with our 16 year old grandson, and we all had a wonderful experience in a lovely apartment which was extremely well outfitted, well maintained and in a handy location for touring around Rome via foot or taxi. There’s a cab stand quite nearby, and we used that probably more than a native would. We did not use the metro but it too is handy. The layout of the apartment suited us wonderfully well. The beds were comfortable. The furniture and furnishings were more than our expectations. Air conditioning was wonderful to have a few nights and was quite effective. The neighboring business folk were friendly and worked with us in our pidgin Italian. An extra bonus which is not common is the owner's travel guide with tips about the neighborhood and travel in Rome generally. You can leave Fodor's and Rick Steves behind, though the house library is full of guide materials. We could go on but other reviewers have hit the highlights. All in all, we cannot recommend this apartment enough.

“A nice place to stay in rome” The place is very nice to stay and has a very nice location between two metro station. Also the owner is very helpful and in the two time i stayed there in matter of three month, we had a blast and where very happy.

“Money well spent” 5 people, 3 nights. nothing to complain about. charming old building, high ceilings, wooden floors, comfortable beds, sufficient kitchen supplies, clean, top location (surprisingly quiet), wifi - which is important for teenagers...., great and friendly people at check-in. strongly recommend this place.

“Bernini House” The house was clean and very well stocked with household items. I loved that it had 2 bathrooms. There were 4 of us,(2 Couples), so it worked out great. The location was centralized and easy enough to get to the buses.

- The Trevi Fountain: This is Rome's largest public fountain, designed in 1732 and featuring a baroque chariot pulled by seahorses and driven by Neptune, the god of the sea.
- The Vatican Museum: Actually a complex rather than a single museum, the Vatican collection contains religious treasures from all over the world.
Traveling in and around Rome is easy. The public transportation system is efficient and affordable, and it's also simple enough to rent a car if you dare to brave the traffic. Train trips and day trips north and south of the city can take you to surrounding sites like the famous abandoned city of Ostia Antica. And when you've absorbed all the art, culture, and history you can handle, it's easy to find an affordable apartment rental or condo where you can relax at the end of a busy day.
