“Perfect Roman Holiday” We had a perfect "Roman Holiday" this past week for our family of four. We loved the quiet pedestrian street that the apartment was located on. We were in very close walking distance to the St. Maria di Maggiorre where we were able to catch the hop-on-hop-off sight-seeing bus. A really beautiful area of Rome. We were also able to comfortably walk to the Colliseum and Forum area. Loads of restaurants, gellaterias, cafés and shops were just around the corner. The area is safe to walk even at night and clean. The beds were comfortable and everything that we needed was supplied for at the apartment (dish washer, washing machine, hair dryers, beautiful decor, awesome rooftop terrace, jacuzzi tub, great wifi that worked for multiple devices). We are a family of four and the apartment provided a perfect living space for my husband and I with our two children (13 year old daughter and 11 year old son). For a small extra fee we were able to use the pull-out bed for my son so he had his own personal space rather than share a bed with his sister. The arranged transfer to and from the airport worked out perfectly for us (75€ each way was well worth it). Elenora met us in a timely manner and spent 30 minutes with us getting us settled and showing us the details of the apartment. She spoke very good English. We purchased a portable wifi that worked great as we toured. We also purchased a multiple day tour bus pass and the Vatican museum pass through Elenora. The rooftop terrace opens easily by a power switch and really adds an extra charm to the apartment. We loved sitting up there in the evenings amongst the lemon and olive trees as we had our wine and cheese. I would not hesitate to book this apartment again the next time we visit Rome. This company was super easy to work with.

RESIDENZA SANSONI easy & quite -Navona - Vatican

Rome apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Location, location, location” The very best aspect of this apartment was for sure the location - just a few blocks from Piazza Navona and across the bridge from the Vatican. This is a studio apt and three adults were very comfortable. The bed is actually a murphy bed, but adequate for a short stay. Bathroom is renovated and bright. Apartment was also on a quiet street, so no trouble resting after a full day of touring the sights. I have to add, though, that the kitchen is not very well stocked - just the bare minimum utensils/plates, etc. so plan ahead if you plan to cook. We had some trouble finding the place, and after some negotiating at the tourist kiosk, Olivia arranged for someone to come find us and escort us which was very much appreciated. Enjoy beautiful Rome!

Vatican-Cozy Apt with terrace -The House of Colors

Rome apartment

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“Superlative accommodation” We stayed for three nights at the beginning of July 2011 with our three children aged 18, 15 and 10. The apartment is very roomy: a large lounge/dining room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Outside is a large balcony where we had breakfast al fresco in the morning before we set out to explore the city. The apartment is conveniently situated five minutes from the Metro and 15 mins walk from the Vatican in a quiet suburb with several excellent restaurants close-by. It was the perfect base from which to explore Rome. The air-conditioning, televisions and Wi-Fi made our stay comfortable, but apart from the excellent location, the best was the attention and superb service we received from Francesca Monteleone. She recommended sites and restaurants, and provided booklets and brochures. We would definitely go back again. On arrival, Francesca arranged a minivan to collect us at the airport and to drop us off at the apartment, for less than the cost of public transport. This worked very well for our family of five. On departure, we inadvertently left some stuff behind and Francesca took enormous trouble to get it to us, which was well beyond what one could expect. It was a home from home, with the washing machine a great help after a few days of travelling.

Sermoneta, Historic Stone Village House with Pool, in a Medieval Hill Town Close

Sermoneta house

“Splendid home in a glorious and unique Village!” The web site proposed a lovely location and property; the reality well met all of those advance expectations. The owners were most helpful for establishing the arrival processes and the local staff prepared the house very well for our arrival. The property was totally unique; medieval is correct; full of charm and character. The house was furnished exceptionally and we could not fault anything that was made available to us. The beds were super comfortable; the living room quiet and relaxing; the bathrooms were great and the kitchen totally well equipped. Outside, the shaded patio area, complete with the hammock, was really nice to use morning, noon and night and the pool area was the icing on the cake with it's splendid views over the Pontine Plains out to the sea. The Internet worked a treat too! Five star and elegant in every aspect! The village was beautiful; characterful and traditional. We were thrilled at the diverse choice of cafes and restaurants, as well as the peace and quiet of largely a carless society with splendid views from every direction. All of these were within a very easy walk from "Domus Doull". We loved returning from Rome's hustle and bustle to the peace and quiet of the village! Highly recommendable to anyone who wants to enjoy a comfortable "away from it all" stay in a truly unique property and location!

Your PROSECCO in GARDEN, 2 STEPS from TRASTEVERE

Rome apartment

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 7

“Good location - friendly host.” The apartment was very clean and comfortable and Pino was extremely friendly and helpful with lots of good tips and information. He kept in touch by text throughout our week long visit. The area is local and not touristy, the apartment is set back in a block away from the road. There is a small supermarket across the road, and a market nearby and a good takeaway pizza restaurant. Access to the centre is very easy with a choice of buses and the tram only a few minutes walk away. The garden is a bonus for evening meals outside. When we stayed it was extremely hot, 38 degrees all week, there is a ceiling fan in the main bedroom but the other room where our sons were staying would have benefitted from a couple of portable fans. The mosquitoes were also out in force so I would advise plenty of deet insect repellent and citronella candles in the height of summer, there is fly screen on the main bedroom windows but not on the others. Make sure you pre-book the Vatican museums so you skip the queues which are very long, the bus around the corner takes you almost directly to St Peter's Square. It is also worth pre-booking tickets to the Colosseum. The park over the road is ideal for a leisurely Sunday picnic and makes a change from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would stay again but we would probably choose Spring or Autumn.

NOSTROMONDO - SUITE with private terrace-Colosseum

Rome house

“Fabulous!” Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our first trip to Rome. Everything was perfect from start to finish! The staff was helpful during booking process, we had a lot of questions before the stay and our e-mails were answered immediately with professionalism. We also tried the pickup service arranged by them, it's very effective and allowed us to reach the apartment with no worries!! Upon arrival Mary welcomed us with a kind smile and we knew right away we could trust her. She supplied useful info about the apartment and its appliances and gave us many tips about the area, the best restaurants and coffee shops. There is a wonderful grocery just opposite to the metro station where we fully stocked up during one week stay. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay. Staying in the suite allowed us to experience a slice of Roman life that would not have been possible had we stayed in a hotel! Gracie Nostromondo!

“Great way to mix with locals in a village atmosphere, staying in” As bike riders from australia, we totally enjoyed our Italian experience at Ruth & Gianni's Proceno apartment. The apartment was very nicely renovated in every detail, plus extra 'little' things to welcome you were much appreciated. The four of us really enjoyed our stay.

ELEGANT APARTMENT BEHIND THE COLOSSEUM

Rome apartment

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 5

“Amongst italians not tourists!” Most importantly, Victor and Emma are wonderful host/hostess' to have when traveling a foreign country! They were very very nice and helpful in meeting us and arranging our departure(s). Awesome bakery and convenience store within walking distance. The apartment was perfect for our purposes...sleeping and showering! However, we were 4 adults and a child and the apt. Is 1 bedroom with the 2nd bedroom being the living room area by converting the sofa into a double bed. Americans are spoiled with space and luxury and sharing the little bathroom and using small towels was not luxurious but we had ample hot water (tiny shower stall!) and kitchen was, as always, a plus, with courtesy beverages and snacks, so it was manageable. The flat was secure and internet and TV reliable. Nestled in a residential area, we did hear the sounds of daily life. The area was walking distance to lots of sites...Colleseum and pantheon and a young crowd inTratesevere. I would not hesitate to stay here again! Thanks VictorandEmma!

About Lazio

Lazio is a region of central Italy, most famous as the home of the nation's capital, Rome, but also the site of many lesser-known attractions that are well worth exploring in their own right. With a sprawling coastline, beautiful beaches, a unique seafood-rich cuisine, and historic towns and cities filled with artistry and striking architecture, Lazio makes a memorable vacation.

The top attractions in Rome and Lazio include:

  • The Colosseum: An iconic masterpiece of ancient Roman architecture, the Colosseum is an impressive ancient remnant that is one of Rome's quintessential must-see sights.
  • St. Peter's Basilica: The global center of the Catholic Church, St. Peter's Basilica is home to some of the most impressive artwork and architecture ever created. Climbing to the roof for a view of the city also yields some marvelous photo opportunities.
  • Castelli: The summer respite of wealthy ancient Romans and the site of the papal vacation residence, the central Lazio region of Castelli is well-known for its Frascati wines and makes for an excellent day trip.
  • Tivoli: The city of Tivoli is an easy day trip from Rome, and is the home of two attractions that are well worth the journey: the spectacular Organ Fountain at the Villa D'Este and the ruins of the Roman emperor Hadrian.

If you're visiting during the Christmas season, be sure to head into the Vatican City. Even if you're not religious, a glimpse at the pomp and circumstance of Christianity's biggest festival in the heart of Catholicism is a unique cultural experience that's not to be missed.

Vacation rentals offer the ideal way to relax, unwind and enjoy the sights and sounds of Rome and Lazio. Offering more space and privacy than hotels and all the comforts and indulgences of home, staying in a villa or apartment during your Italian vacation will make your trip that much more enjoyable.

From Rome, you can visit the region of Campania, home of the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. It is a three-hour train ride from Rome to Pompeii, and the trip can be done in a single day, or you can opt to spend more time in this historic and beautiful area.

Beautiful apartment on lovely street

We really loved this place! The high ceilings and windows made it bright and airy. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice having a separate bathroom for each bedroom. The location was just incredible! The street below was full of lovely little restaurants and cafes, busy yet charming and quiet since there are so few cars on the narrow streets in Rome. A short walk to the Spagna metro station and an easy walk to many fun tourist sights like the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. We would definitely stay here again!see more

Great location in Rome

This apartment in Rome was very well located. We could walk to many places e.g. Roma Termini, Trevi Fountain, Victor Emanuel memorial, Trojans Column etc. it was convenient to Cavour and Republican Metro. There were a number of cafes and restaurants in the area and also, supermarkets. Whilst there were two bedrooms and two bathrooms, we had to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. The owner was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.see more
