“Rooms with a view!” One of the most peaceful and beautiful locations we have stayed in. Wonderful memories of sitting on the terrace outside the well-appointed house high in the Tuscan hills, with a distant view of the leaning Tower of Pisa, wooded hills all around, birds singing, a glass of local wine from the Colle Verde vineyard (north of Lucca)in my hand - absolute perfection! We loved this part of Italy and will be sure to visit again. Lucca is a must-see place, which we preferred to the busyness of Florence. Luisa and Colin were very friendly and helpful hosts, even offering to do an initial shop for us prior to our arrival. The drive up from the road requires a bit of skill and good tyres, but our two drivers were experts by the end of the week!

Best Florence Accomodation 24H/AC

Florence apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Great Apt” This apartment was almost perfect. I'll get it out of the way and say the shower was very tight, i'm 5'6" 156lb and it felt cramped. But I dont there is anything that can be done about this so its just something you live with. The apt itself was spacious, it has a washer, close to city center, comfortable and included a bottle of water and coca cola. We only slept in one of the rooms and felt it satisfied all needs. The apt stayed cool and we never had to run the a/c just the fan at night. This is a very cute apt. We also didnt use the bikes, but thought about it and decided to walk since we were mainly shopping and taking tours during our time in Florence. The location is just outside the main center on a quiet street. It takes maybe 4-6min to walk to Duomo area, 25min to walk to train station. I would not recommend walking to train if you have luggage, the sidewalks and roads makes it a long 25min. Gianluca was very pleasant. He met us at the apt and gave us some contact info for tour guides. We didnt have any issues so we never had to call him for assistance.

Cortona villa

“Next time we need to stay a month - one week was not enough!!!” This had to be my favorite vacation of all time!! The location was fantastic - just a short drive into the town of Cortona. The scenery was exquisite, and we have hundreds of photos to prove it. The house was fantastic - so comfortable, the outdoor deck was our favorite spot - we ate every meal out there - breakfast, lunch and dinner! We did a cooking lesson with Giusi and her friend Orietta - everything we made was amazing - we spent 5 hours cooking and eating. I can't wait to try the recipes at home - I am going to make the Roasted Pork Loin (arresta d maile arrosto) for Christmas dinner for my family. I highly recommend this vacation spot to any one who wants a true Tuscan vacation. Giusi and Dario are wonderful hosts and the house is perfect. We had 3 couples and there was plenty of room for all of us! Mille Grazie to Giusi and Dario!

About Tuscany

When you dream of Italy, whether you realize it or not, you often visualize the rolling hills and roads lined with cypress trees of Tuscany.

The central region in Italy is about 9,000 square miles and encompasses many famous destinations, including the region's capital, Florence. Some of the region's top places to visit are recognized World Heritage sites, including the entire historical centers ofFlorence, Siena, San Gimignano and Pienza as well as the Square of Miracles in Pisa with its Leaning Tower and the entire valley in southern Tuscany known as the Val d'Orcia. In addition to these wonders, visitors should not miss the walled town of Lucca nor the medieval hilltop village of Volterra.

Tuscany is rich in culture, history and arts. All are intertwined: Tuscany, and Florence in particular, were the birthplace of the Renaissance. Tuscany is the birthplace of greats such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Donatello in the arts, Dante Alighieri, Boccaccio and Petrarch in literature, Puccini, Guido d'Arezzo (invented modern musical notation) and today's present day tenor Andrea Bocelli in music. Everywhere you visit, from Piazza del Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, to the Duomo andCivic Palace in Siena, you will be able to see the lasting landmarks and masterpieces this period in history has left for us to marvel at today.

While most of the postcards from Tuscany show soft, rolling hills, the region is also distinguished for the variety in its landscape including its coastal seaside beaches and towns, its mountains and the many valleys with stunning hilltop towns on every gentle peak in between. The magnificent island of Elba offers clear, blue waters and reefs that remind one of other destinations across the globe.

An essential part of your visit will include enjoying the delicious food and wines produced in Tuscany. The region brings life to the finest Italian red wines, including Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and numerous modern-day "Super Tuscans". Enjoy your wine with great Tuscan specialties: a plate of tagliatelle with white truffles from San Miniato or pici with Pecorino di Pienza cheese sauce, a fine Florentine steak of locally-bred Chianina beef or a panzanella bread salad with a drizzle of high-quality Tuscan extra virgin olive oil.

Tuscany's two international airports, in Pisa (PSA) and Florence (FLR), connect the region to the rest of Europe and the world. From there, you can easily move around the region using the excellent rail system, although some areas - including Chianti and Val d'Orcia - are better explored with your own means of transportation. The port city of Livorno (Leghorn) welcomes hundreds of cruise ship travelers every day.

Tuscany is beautiful year-round, with generally mild temperatures. The warmest months are July and August, and January and February the coldest. Only the highest peaks get enough snow to attract skiers. The best months for visiting are from March to June and from September through early November.

Tuscany offers great treasures for all. Whether you're on your first visit or returning again to enjoy a longer vacation, you will marvel at the magnificent masterpieces this region has inspired in all who have visited and lived here over the course of centuries.

Perfect Location, photo's don't do the listing justice!

The location was perfect. Close to everything. The unit had everything you would need. Beautifully decorated with a bit of historical charm. Dominique was wonderful with his "local" knowledge and so funny with his stories. His English is perfect so that was helpful in our planning. We would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place that is close to everything.see more
Real Home Luxury Apartments 20 steps from Duomo; WiFi, Elevator equipped (N. 1)
Perfect Location Steps from the Duo o

We stayed in this wonderful apartment with family on a recent trip to Florence. This two bedroom two bathroom apartment is perfect for two couples with plenty of room and every amenity one could want, all set on the traditional manner in this exceptional apartment. The location literally steps from the Duomo is perfect for exploring the city and returning when you need a break. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen, shopped at the market that Eleanora guided us to and enjoyed the excellent restaurant under the building. The gelateria across the street was an added bonus. We cheered the runners of a marathon from the windows above and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful place in this beautiful it’s.see more
Beautiful 2BR apartment, AC, WIFI
Perfect location

This apartment is very close to city centre of Florence. Only 20 min walk. It is away from tourists and you feel like living with locals in Florence, however close enough to all tourist attractions. Cute small coffee shops on the way to city . There is an excellent supermarket ( penny market) 5 min away. Try it’s delicious pastries. There is a paid private parking 7 min away. The Apartment is beautiful with all comfort and amenities you need. It has been recently renovated. Bus stops close by and restaurants close by. There is also a close by coffee and pastry shop. We did not try it though. It is very secure and safe. I would definitely stay here again if in a Florence.see more
Villa Le Torri. Apartment Lily, swimming pool, Chianti, 15 min from Florence
Perfect villa, perfect host, perfect vacation!

We are a family of 3 sisters, each with their families, who visited Chianti and stayed in 3 of the villas in Villa le Torri. We loved the place! Everything you need is provided and our host, Liza, was amazing! The kids enjoyed the pool and the adults enjoyed hanging out on the patio, having dinner and sipping our wine. We also loved the restaurant recommendations made by Liza, excellent, local food. We only wish that we had had more time to spend at the villa and visiting the Chianti region. We highly recommend Villa le Torri.see more
Just 5 minutes from the centre of the Gaiolie, wonderful apartment with pool and breathtaking terrace, sleeps 6
Our Gaiolie Experience

This property is beautiful! The view is spectacular! The town/village very quaint and had everything we needed. Great food, and we used the Coop (grocery store) regularly. The area had great wines! Would definitely recommend La Casa di Bricciano, Paualo was a treasure, we went back a second time. Wine tasting in this area is an event, not a quicky, be ready to sit and enjoy good wines, bread, olive oil, prosciutto, salami etc. Barbara, the unit caretaker was very helpful and available. We would have given this property 5 stars, but had a couple issue's that dampened our vacation. The area/country was having some unusual heat, and could be uncomfortable at times. The unit has air conditioning (at an additional cost), so we tried to use it sparingly. We actually went and purchased 3 standing fans to try to circulate air on each floor. The internet went out (unfortunately we were there during the women's soccer world cup) and we were unable to get channels we should of. Our England friends were unable to watch their women try for the bronze, and we (USA) went in search of someplace to watch the finals. We were directed to Whisky A Gogo, Francesca was wonderful, she ran home and got her tv cords and allowed us to watch it in her restaurant/bar. The owners/Jan-Yngve S were very helpful, they sent area information prior to the trip, and attempted to help us resolve the tv/internet issue's. The Borgo is a beautiful community (but be warned, the walk to the village is short but steep, definitely got our steps in).see more
wonderful stay in Florence!

My husband and I stayed at the Via Dei Barbadori on the oltrarno and absolutely loved it! Our must have list included air conditioning, elevator and washer. All were included and worked well, especially the aircon in the 100+ degree heat! Our host was very responsive (within15 minutes) when we couldn’t get the hot water to work properly. He reset the water heater and it was perfect. He also left us a bar of chocolate, a bottle of wine and a large bottle of water. The kitchen was equipped with basics, including coffee and spices. The location was just off the Ponte Vecchio and was perfect for us. It is about a 20 minute walk from the train station, but we used a taxi because of the heat when we arrived. Everything else we just walked to see. We will definitely return to this location!see more
