“Perfect apartment in Florence” An apartment in Florence is so much better than a hotel room. The Suite Deluxe apartment, though, is so much better than any other apartment. It is situated in a historical building but it totally modern inside. Beautiful large bathroom, king size bed, sleek but comfortable furnishings, a compact but fully equipped kitchen, free wifi and TV. Piero will meet you just outside the building to take you inside and explain all the equipment to you. He was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Be sure to visit the restaurants he suggests. They are excellent.

“Unforgettable experience” We had a great time not only in the place but more importantly with the hosts! The farm is managed by a beautiful family. Sig.ra Serena & Sig. Alessio were very accomodating from the moment we took interest & inquire about their bed & breakfast. They were very generous with information, knowledge, service & time. The place is pristine. Well-kept & perfected to the last detail. It smells good, too. The location is brilliant for somebody who enjoys privacy. I can go on & on about Podere La Grande Querce because there's a lot of positive things about this place (& I may not have much characters left), but what struck us the most is the family behind it. They are very kind, respectful & good natured. We had no inquiry, need or question left unattended or unanswered. And to us, that is the most important factor. They made us feel at home. We will surely be back!

Villa Maura in Tuscany: pool, private garden & BBQ

Fucecchio villa

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 3 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Fantastic holiday at Villa Maura” This is our second visit to La Scuola in Tuscany and our group consisted of four adults. It has an ideal location for sight seeing, being close to Pisa, Florence, and Lucca, not to mention the vineyards and wine tasting, but you do need a vehicle as it is special in its remoteness from urban life. It is in a beautiful setting, within the rolling hills and picturesque scenery you expect from the area. There is a swimming pool to be shared by the few apartments but it is mainly very quiet for a relaxing day with a good book. We have stayed in both an apartment and the Villa Maura which is an exceptional property with all the facilities a family could need. Both met our needs more than adequately. Tiziana the proprietor gives exceptional customer service and this year she helped us with a series of visits with local dignitaries and local places in the area in our efforts to establish some things of unexpected but special historical interest to my family. She has, on both our visits, offered her time and service to help us out. Tizzie even arranged our first basket of shopping to ensure we had groceries for our arrival as it was late in the day and at the weekend. We enjoy a balance between touring and relaxing and this gives the opportunity to do both. If you don't wish to drive into cities there is adequate railway provision locally to get where ever you wish to go. The town of Fuccechio has an open air market each week and there are large local supermarkets close at hand. There are detailed information packs in the Villa and apartments to help you. I would highly recommend this property as a base to chill out or as a base to see the wonders of historical Tuscany or as for us, a chance to do both.

Villa Le Terrazze in Florence, views, pool, no car needed

Florence villa

  • 5 bedrooms
  • 6 bathrooms
  • sleeps 12

“Beautiful tuscan villa with a view” The Villa Le Terazze is beautiful! It fit our purposes perfectly. We had 9 family members staying there and held a small wedding ceremony in the yard. The garden and views are fabulous and the space of the villa works well for everyone to spread out. The antiques and well-appointed furnishings made the environment warm and cozy. Lorenzo was helpful and kind. He met us for check-in promptly and was thorough in explaining everything we needed to know about the accomodations. The day before check out, Lorenzo sent an email and was again, prompt and thorough. He was friendly and spoke english well. Thank you, Lorenzo, for sharing this fabulous home with us! We had the pleasure of enjoying a fabulous meal prepared for us and served in the villa diningroom. Alida and her husband, Andrea, created an experience we will not soon forget. The food was outstanding and the service/setting was fabulous. I highly recommend this for anyone seeking a memorable and delightful dining experience. They took care of everything! Thank you to alida and andrea for the wonderful meal and experience. The location of the villa is very convenient. It is about 15 minutes from Florence by bus. We utilized this method of getting to and from, and it worked perfectly. It is only a short walk to the Tabacchi to purchase your bus tickets and the pick-up stop is a short walk back to the fork in the road. The last stop in Florence (bus 25) is at Museo di San Marco, very convenient. Returning requires an uphill walk unless you stay on the bus and get off at a stop just above the villa...a longer ride on the bus, but it does make the walk a bit easier if you are not a fan of the uphill venture. Another option is to call a taxi...this too was very easy and not expensive. The taxis typically arrived within 5 to 10 minutes of our call.

“A lovely place!” We had a really lovely holiday. The location is excellent, being in the heart of Chianti, a peaceful place sorrounded by vineyards and olive grooves, but not far from the most beautiful town and villages. The apartment was really characteristic but also full of comfort; we had everything we need... and don't forget to ask Leonardo, the very nice owner, some information on the history of Florence or suggestion on the best Tuscany wines!!

Live the centre of Florence in a quiet location
THE place to stay in Florence

Lucia's place was magical. Top floor, with a rooftop terrace that gave you an almost 360 degrees view of Florence (looking down at the river on one side and the Duomo on the other) and an interior design that made you feel as if you were in living during the Renaissance period. The apartment was very spacious (with enough room for 2 or 4 people) and clean. The kitchen was very practical and the bathroom also (it even included a washing machine). Its central location also made touring the city super easy and the variety of guidebooks in the flat were very helpful. Lucia was very kind and offered us the warmest welcome. We stayed in a few places in Italy and this was by far the best!see more
Charm and Tradition at Vacation Rental in Florence Heart
Best Place I’ve Stayed in Florence

I’ve been coming to Italy for several decades now; sometimes for business, a lot for pleasure. This trip was extended due to teaching responsibilities in Florence. I was here over 5 weeks, so I needed a place close enough to work, but not too close - away from the tourists, but close enough if I wanted to go. The Oltrarno district is ideal for this. It has all the things you might want in Florence proper - the sights, restaurants, shops and artisians, but it’s more authentic. You’re actually rubbing elbows with the rest of the denizens of Florence. It’s kind of a working class neighborhood. About the apartment - it was great! Roomy, as authentic Florentine as you will find - terrazzo brick everywhere, a real old carved stone sink, but it had all the appliances you’d want, plus the fastest wifi I’ve had on any of my trips here. It’s an old, thick building, so you rarely hear your neighbors. It is safe and secure and near the shops, stores, banks and markets you need for day-to-day living. The owners bent over backwards to ensure my stay was what I expected. When I asked for a coffee pot, no questions asked. The washing machine, stove, microwave, fridge, et al is all top-notch stuff. One more thing: A lot of the time, you’ll see pictures on these sites and they’ll look ok, and then you’re disappointed when you actually get there. On the other hand, a lot of these sites post less-than-stellar pics and you later found out that the place you passed over was really great. Well, the owners here nailed it - the pics are plentiful, truthful and authentic - it was exactly what I had expected when I got here. Like I said - the best place I’ve stayed in Firenze…ever.see more

Villa Ripertoli luxury secluded family-owned farmhouse, Tuscany
Charming Stay, Perfect Wedding

My husband and I chose Ripertoli as both the venue and residence for the week of our wedding. Our 15 guests stayed with us the days leading up to the event, and all were blown away by the beauty of this little corner of the world. We can say, without hesitation, that it was the perfect location for our intimate wedding and the perfect vacation home for the week. The photos of Ripertoli are great, but they can't do the property justice. The view from the property is expansive, the landscaping is gorgeous, and buildings possess a unique charm that combine to create a truly fairytale-like experience. It is necessary to negotiate some hills and gravel, but having spent a week on the narrow roads of Chianti, we know now that this is not a feature unique to Ripertoli. Our ceremony was outdoors, and the most difficult dilemma of the day (if I can even call it that) was deciding where on the picturesque grounds to have it. For the reception the choice was obvious: the property has a perfect flat space in front of one Cappane's arched door. It is flanked by flowers and several old-timey streetlights. We’ll cherish our trip because of our wedding, but it would have been an amazing week regardless. We visited local wineries, rented mopeds in Greve, arranged for a cooking class at Ripertoli, and spent time in Greve’s markets (outside of the hustle-and-bustle of Florence). Marisa, the property's caretaker, is wonderful. She greeted us the first day with a delicious Tuscan meal. And while she spoke no English, her affection was unmistakeable. She stayed for the wedding day to make sure it went off without a hitch. She even came the day before to give us each wedding gifts and a bouquet of pink roses from her own garden. Throughout the week she was willing to come by and cook dinners or breakfasts -- we just had to arrange that with her when we got there. The property's owners, Nigel and Deborah, have also clearly devoted a lot of time to improving the property and spending much of their own time there. Their website (and a bulletin board at Ripertoli) is full of suggestions for restaurants and activities -- I think mostly from Nigel's and Deborah's own experiences. Also, Nigel (our primary contact) was very communicative and extremely professional in both arranging for the week ahead of time and in concluding our business after the fact. When we first approached them about the possibility of hosting a wedding at Ripertoli, the couple offered to Skype with us to ensure that every need was met and question answered. It was largely this conversation that convinced us to have our wedding at Ripertoli. They took time out of their own trip to Ripertoli the week before we arrived to show our caterer (Preludio catering out of Cortona) around the property, and helped advise us where to have our ceremony and reception. During our time in Italy, we had no trouble getting ahold of Nigel quickly. Nigel's transaction process and communication were very professional and made the business aspects of the rental smooth and easy. Our only point of concern going into the rental was the property’s handicap accessibility (my husband's grandmother has trouble walking up and down stairs in particular, making most of Tuscany a bit of an obstacle). We voiced this to Nigel and Deborah during our initial conversation, and they were very straightforward with us: Some stairs were going to be inevitable, but certain rooms were fairly accessible without many stairs. We had his grandmother stay in the main building (which has several stairs at the entrance) -- once we'd helped her inside, she could get around fine in the living and kitchen area with only a couple of short stairs down to her bedroom. One of the out buildings also had bedrooms accessible without stairs -- it just depends where you plan to spend the bulk of your time. With Nigel and Deborah's warning and advice, we were able to prepare, and it worked out fine for us. In sum, we give Ripertoli our highest recommendation.see more
Elegant 3 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Florence
Stunning decor

Recently stayed here with family/friends. 5 of us in total. The palazzo was superbly located near Santo Spirito square which is right across the river, a 10 minute walk to the centre of sights. Apartment was steps away from the restaurants / cafes etc. in the square. There is also a small daily market in the square. We enjoyed the area immensely. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the frescoed walls and décor was very ornate and classically Florentine. Apartment was a little dark but we made sure we had the windows open and lights on. Cozy living room and kitchen. Large bathroom and bedrooms. Would recommend staying here.see more
