“Beautiful Location, Charming B” We spent a weekend at this B&B.; Fabulous location beautiful views of the mountains. The owners, Canan and Umberto, were the perfect hosts. The combination of the food, the service, the accommodations, and their company was perfect. If you love country settings, staying at this B&B; is like a dream.
“Beyond expectations” For quite a while I had been planning to visit Turin and Piemonte with my children and grandchildren, where my children had been born and lived through their early years.
Ca' Momplin came on our radar, and once I received e-mails from Franco with photos and found the location in my memory, we all went there for over four weeks in September 2009.It became a magical stay, not only that the location great, (I still have a photo of the valley facing Cisterna on my wall, with two grape leaves tucked in) the premises were comfortable and fun to take turns cooking in, it came with the wonderful guidance of Claudia and Franco. Franco took us mushroom picking in the near Ligure mountains, arranged for us all to visit the Beppi Occelli cheese aging operationin Borgo di Valcasotto, and gave us an intgruging cooking class, making fresh pasta, and especially his bagna caoda, even better than what I remembered from my life in Piemonte. Then it was all crowned by a day picking grapes in a vineyard above the Tanaro valley, then watching the grapes being pressed, fillimng the most container in the cellars, while we drank samples of the earlier wine aging in the casks. This was followed by a farm meal and lots of wine, crowned by the singing of a male quartet of local singers. This for me was an emotional visit to the past, and all much enjoyed. Claudia and Franco are the greatests hosts and I'd go back tomorrow if I could.

The Northern region of Piedmont has some of the best food and drink in all of Italy. The white truffles grown in the area are compared to gold because of their cost and delicacy, while the sweet wines produced in the area are regarded as among the best in the world. If that's not enough, Piedmont also has many historical attractions and boutiques featuring fashions by big-name designers. With eight provinces and well over a dozen big cities in the region, there's an abundance of nightlife, shopping and dining options right at your fingertips.
Here are some of the must-see attractions and destinations in the area:
Turin: This large city is known as the first true capital of Modern Italy and also hosted the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Bardonecchia: This small mountain town is known for having some of the best skiing in the region.
Candelo: This fortified 18th century village is full of historic old buildings that have remained almost entirely intact.
Lake Maggiore: Covering over 90 miles in length and extending out into Switzerland, this lake is perfect for fishing or canoeing.
Alba: Known for its great wineries throughout the area, Alba is also the birthplace of Nutella chocolate spread.
Acqui Terme: Take a dip in the ancient baths or visit the hot sulfur spring of this beautiful Roman town.
With well over four million people inhabiting the area, there are a number of events taking place throughout the region almost every day. Head to the classically Italian donkey races in the village of Premosello during the month of August, celebrate the harvesting of the grapes with an elaborate festival in Castagnole Monferrato in October, or look at the over-the-top costumes and floats in the street parade known as Carnival in the town of Asti during the month of February.
A vacation rental is the preferred option for those staying in Piedmont. With condos available in almost every town and city from Turin to Biella, there is a property available that will put you exactly where you want to be in this historic Italian region.
If you have some extra time to explore the surrounding area, the international fashion capital of Milan, the picturesque fishing villages of Cinque Terre, and the historical city of Bologna can all be reached within 90 minutes by car.

Beautiful visit with beautiful people
Our trip was absolutely amazing. Tracy and her son were awesome Hostess and host. She offered to pick us up and drive us to the train station for a very reasonable cost. They arranged a seven-course dinner for one of the evenings in the town. Our breakfast were very good and our time talking so nice. The room itself was gorgeous. The View on the Terrace of the mountains in Alps was striking and Serene. We couldn't have asked for a more blessed time. …

Exclusive 17th C Villa on the Island of San Giulio
Second time in paradise and not the last!
We returned to this paradise island for the second time bringing new friends and found the atmosphere as enchanting as ever. The water was still very warm and we swam often in the evenings too. We used the bbq to cook in the garden by the gate, next to the stone table where we would dine. So calm and peaceful. There is a good collection of books to read. We left regenerated and look forward to coming again. …

Charming apartment where we, a couple, stayed for a week with our 11 year old son. With the covered parking included for our car, we were well placed to explore Orta and the beautiful surroundings. Only problem was the mobile internet at the apartment, which meant a somewhat enforced digital detox - and that had it's advantages too! …
