Cliffside Park, New JerseyUnit #13 at The Retreat in Rum and Kai
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Rum and Kai is an absolute paradise! And The Retreat, where we stayed, provided us the best accommodation and venue for a wondrous vacation. Unit #13 is especially a comfortable place -- it is not only tastefully decorated but it has everything one needs while away from home, including all the gadgets and equipment required to enjoy the beach and all that Cayman has to offer. My husband and I went with our 10-year-old grand daughter and all three of us enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, soaking in the sun, dozing off in a hammock, lunching on cheeseburgers and fries, and enjoying nature itself- everything right in "our backyard"!! Such an experience is priceless and we're definitely going back to Rum and Kai, and specifically staying at Unit #13 again! That was a delightful week's vacation, we did not want it to end!!

Little Silver, New JerseyWonderful time at Rum Point!
Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My husband and I returned to Grand Cayman for our second visit in March 2013. During our first trip to Grand Cayman we stayed at 7-Mile Beach, however took 2 day trips to the North Side of the island. We enjoyed the quiet, crowd-less, low-key atmosphere and decided on our second trip to stay at Rum Point at Rum & Kai #13. What a great choice we made! Matt & Tracey have thought of every little detail and the condo is furnished perfectly. The Retreat management was great too and they definitely spend a lot of time and effort to keep the property beautiful. We were able to have breakfast and lunch at our leisure in the condo (Ioved the screened in porch) and go out for dinner/drinks. The beach was amazing - clean and not crowded with fantastic snorkeling, chaise lounges, grills nearby and the Rum Point beach club next door when we were ready for a mudslide! We had such a fantastic time that we are already planning our trip back to Rum Point in 2014! Thank you, Matt & Tracey, for sharing your amazing condo with us!!

Boulder, ColoradoLocation and Snorkeling Cannot be Beat at Rum and Kai
Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed 4 nights at the Rum and Kai (#13 at The Retreat) in January. First, I must comment about the amazing customer service from Matt and Tracey. We had originally booked to stay at Rum and Kai in January 2012. Two days before we were scheduled to leave for Grand Cayman, we had a family emergency and had to cancel our trip. Rather than losing the deposit, Matt let us use it for a stay anytime in the next year. On top of the great information documents the owners provide, this is some of the best service we have ever seen.
Some notes about the condo itself: very clean and well taken care of, wonderful view, comfortable bed. The kitchen is well stocked, as we made breakfast every morning and never wanted for anything. Yes, it is on the third floor and when running back and forth with beers/snacks to watch the sunset it can get a bit exhausting, but nothing too strenuous. It is back from the ocean a bit, but there is still an unencumbered view of the ocean from the screened porch. We noticed we didn’t get the cooling sea breezes through the condo at night like we did down at the Sea Lodges, but with aC this was not a problem at all.
This was our second time to the North Side and it is hands down our favorite part of the island. The condo is in a good location, with great snorkeling very close by. Testudo’s guides are obviously printed out in the condo and are invaluable for snorkeling enthusiasts. A car is essential, especially if you want to travel around to other snorkel spots. This trip it was very windy on the north side, so we ended up snorkeling Eden Rock, 7 Mile Beach, and Governor Russell Beach on different occasions. Smith Cove was too rough and the visibility was virtually zero, which was surprising. We did do the Rum Point float again this trip which is a great ride. This trip we enjoyed dining at the Italian Kitchen, Calypso Grill, Over the Edge, and the Kaibo Beach BBQ. All are great and unique in their own way.
For great snorkeling, away from the crowds, and close to good restaurants, the North Side and The Retreat can’t be beat. -

Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We just returned from a week at a very quiet and relaxing retreat. The Rum and Kai condo was extremely well maintained. It was outfitted with so many items, enough to fill a regular home. The accommodations were very comfortable. Wifi was a great way to stay in touch with home. I especially liked the view from the lanai. There were other folks in our building, but we never heard a peep from them. The pool was a little too chilly for us, but it was always so clean. The weather was fairly windy during our visit, so we were limited on the shore snorkeling on the North Side. We did find quiet water on the South Shore in large part due to the extensive snorkeling guide provided in the condo. Huge thanks for that!. The local restaurants were fun to visit too. Renting a car is essential as this condo is ~45 min from the airport. It also provides a great excuse to tour the entire island. If you are looking for a quiet retreat far away from the hustle and bustle of 7Mile beach, then you have found your spot at Rum and Kai!

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We had the most enjoyable week at Rum and Kai #13. From the time we made the first inquiry to checking out after 7 days we felt everything was wonderful. Matt and Tracey answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The condo was perfect. It is well stocked with anything you would need. Plenty of towels and kitchen supplies and pretty much anything you didn't think you needed but were glad they thought of it.. It is located on the 3rd floor so it may be difficult for some to climb the steps but with that comes a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed beers and wine on the screened in porch and being out after the sun goes down with the no-see-ems and mosquitos that came in very handy.
The shore is sandy/rocky. You will need to wear water shoes when walking on the beach. The sad part is all the garbage that has washed up on the shore. As we walked along the beach and checked out other beaches it is everywhere. The condo is on a more remote part of the island. We found wonderful places to eat and I highly recommend Kurt's Korner (save room for the key lime pie.).Kaibo Bar B Que on Tuesdays. The food wasn't that great on other days. Over the Edge and Italian Kitchen (order the garlic knots and sticky toffee pudding).were excellent also.
The snorkeling was good. Although their is a good current out there. My husband went diving with Red Sail and did Snorkeling/sting ray tour with them. They were an excellent company to work with and are right next door to the condo. We did drive a short distance from the condo to Star Fish Beach. We brought our snorkeling equipment (there is some in the condo too.). We packed a cooler from the condo and enjoyed a lunch under the palm trees. We did see a couple of star fish while snorkeling.
Thank you Matt and Tracey for an enjoyable week.
Thank you for knowing what anyone would want or need for a vacation in Paradise! -

My wife and I recently returned from a week stay at the Rum & Kai and everything positive in the past reviews is true. Everything you need is provided. The view from the lanai (us midwestern us folks call that a screened porch) was fantastic. We enjoyed our breakfast and bed time beverages there throughout our stay.
For anyone that is new to snorkeling, this is the best place to give it a try. I waded in the water offshore about 20 to 40 feet in water about 4 feet deep and just floated with my face in the water. I saw at least 20 different fish in about 30 minutes. It was like swimming in an aquarium. Make sure that you wear something on your feet - there are some wicked rocks hiding in that sand.
If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy the best of Grand Cayman, this is the place. Don't let the drive from Georgetown scare you. It's worth it. -

I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condo unit for a week in May 2012. The owners have definitely thought of everything! The unit is tastefully decorated and very clean and fresh. Guests have access to a plethora of towels (bath and beach), linens, cookware and all kitchen needs (including microwave, toaster, and coffee maker). This sure does come in handy so that you don't have to use all of your spending money eating out every day. We had breakfast and lunch here for the most part. Stock up at one of the supermarkets near the airport before heading here. There is even a washer/dryer in the unit! The view from the 3rd floor unit is wonderful, it was so nice to sit in the screened in porch area and look out onto the crystal clear waters. The condo complex is on a very quiet part of the island - the beach is gorgeous and the water is perfect. There is a restaurant, snack bar, and beach bar all located on the property and the beautiful beach offers lounge chairs for the guests as well. The unit also provides snorkel gear and a very cool snorkel guide book directing you to the best spots in the area. It was truly a pleasure to take a day trip to the busy 7-mile beach area and be able to come back to a quiet, tropical place. We had/have absolutely no complaints before/during/after our fabulous stay here and are already looking forward to returning!

This was our second trip to The Retreat. This time, we were without kids, so we only needed a one-bedroom and Rum & Kai is the perfect choice. The unit is very spacious, and immaculately clean. It's perfect for two or a small family. We had everything we needed and then some. We especially enjoyed the massive movie hard drive! The reservation process was seamless as was communication. The Retreat complex is the island's best kept secret--perfect location, great beach, quiet, wonderful snorkeling, great amenities--the list goes on and on. We will definitely return! Thank you for a great stay.

We have done a great deal of traveling and have rented several homes through vrbo. Matt & Tracey's condo is by far the best vacation spot ever! Their home is fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay and then some! The location affords privacy and the local beach next door is steps away if you are looking for a little action. The snorkeling is outstanding and the beach is by far the most beautiful we have seen! Matt & Tracey's place is definitely #1 on our list of favorite vacation spots and we hope to return soon!

Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This is my second time staying on the island, as well as the second time renting this condo :) I had such a great experience with 3 friends last year, I decided to do it again, this time just one friend and I. Being that both of us have very stressful jobs, a week in paradise is exactly what we needed (and got). The condo is absolutely beauttiful, as well as looks out on the most gorgeous beach (Rum Point) on the island (I have seen them all). This is the perfect spot if you want to be away from the touristy sections of the island (Georgetown) and have a relaxing and adventourous time :) There is ample to do, depending on your adventure level, and we snorkled, went to sting ray city, and rode wave runners! We are not into diving, but if you are it is great there. There is also many restaurants and nice, local places on this side of the island. Would definately reccomend to anyone looks for a gorgeous, relaxing getaway!

Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We had a wonderful vacation to the Cayman Islands. The condo was beautiful and had all the comforts of home. We made breakfast in the morning and ate on the lanai with a beautiful view of the ocean. A couple days we turned the air conditioning off and open the windows. There was a great breeze and we could hear the ocean and palms. It was wonderful to go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and wake up to the ocean. We loved the location. We stayed 2 nights in Seven Mile and the crowds of people was enough for us. The area the condo was in was away from all the crowds of tourist. On a return trip we decided we would rather stay at Rum Point, away from the crowds. The beach was great but water shoes are a must. We had tropical fish and stringray swim around us while just wading in the ocean. My husband and brother-in-law did some snorkeling and said there was plenty to see. The condo is fully equipped with everything you need. Not that we spent alot of time in the condo, mainly to sleep and eat. We had 4 adults in the condo and we were comfortable. What we like best is we were away from the crowds which made for a truly relaxing vacation!! We are already talking about going back!!!

Just returned from a relaxing week at Rum & Kai. It was everything it was described as being in the previous Tripadvisor reviews--and more. The unit was immaculate and well stocked with everything you could ever need. The small beach at the Retreat was perfect for sunbathing and snorkeling. The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. My wife and I couldn't have been happier. Anyone looking for a relaxed, laid back getaway should definitely consider The Retreat, and Rum & Kai is the perfect one-bedroom unit. We heartily recommend Rum & Kai and will certainly book it again when we return to Grand Cayman.

This is the second time we have stayed in this unit. We like the top floor end location-very quiet with great view. The unit is very well equipped and lacks nothing. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. The only downside was it was quite windy during our stay making it hard to enjoy the beach.

If you want to stay at Rum Point, this is the place to stay. The property is great and the owners are even better! Air Canada did a schedule change and didn't bother to let us know. (Surprise, surprise). We contacted the owners and we pushed our dates by 3 days..no problem. Thanks again! Management office was very polite and helpful.
The condo is really nice, but I am not going to just repeat what everyone has said...its all true. Great location, big kitchen and porch. We traveled with our 3 year old daughter, who loved the beach and the pool (we always had the pool to ourselves). She always found new friends to play with at Rum Point next door, and spent the day playing in the water and digging in the sand. No big waves or rip currents to worry about. Bugs were not a problem. There was a steady breeze 24 hours a day and the porch is fully screened in so we had most meals at home.
We ate out only a couple of times and would highly recommend Tukka's down at the East end of the island. Kaibo is okay for lunch as is the Rum Point burger shack. We also tried the restaurant next door and it was fine. Groceries can be purchased at East end (about a 25 minute drive) and there is a liquor store there too.
I am an avid snorkeler so this is for you folks. Visibility and current seem to be wind driven. We had a few days with light breezes and the visibility was great. It is a long swim out to the reef, but there are coral gardens closer in. There are marker bouys to use as reference points but they are still a good swim out. If you are not a confident swimmer, stay closer to shore. I was able to see many lobster, various types of rays, grouper, snapper, barracuda, a nurse shark, angelfish and puffers. I even spotted a flying Gunard (see photo). There was lots of corals and the reef seemed very healthy.
This was our first time to Grand Cayman and would do it all over again (and will). It is expensive (food, drinks, gas) but by eating in and bringing some things with you from home you can save a bundle. -

The condo had everything we wanted--Most importanlty was the views, beach access and the best snorkeling right around the property. Directly next door was Red Sail Sports that offered sun set cruises and a trip to Stingray City which we highly reccomend both trips. Also next store was the Rum Point Club that offered water sports and an excellent restaurant for dining outside which we ate at several times.
While on the beach we were often the only people around to enjoy the spectacular setting with palm trees and the most amazing crystal clear waters.
The condo also had everything you could want from great linens to everything you could want in a kitchen. There was a great TV which we actually never turned on as well as the wireless internet which we actually used alot to keep up with everything going on at work and home.
We can't wait to return next year! -

Savannah, GAAmazing Honeymoon
Left on 08/02/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Rum and Kai was the best place we could have ever spent our honeymoon. We were there for 12 days. It was so much more affordable than a hotel on 7 mile and so much better. You walk in the front door and can see out the porch to the beautiful ocean view. It is on the side of the complex, so no traffic in front. You have these wonderful breezes that come off the ocean on the screened in porch. We spent one whole day just reading there to get out of the sun. Many places in Grand Cayman do not have much of a beach, but the beach at the Retreat was wonderful. They have loungers out already, and there are palm trees so no need for an umbrella. But the apartment had everything in case you needed it, and I mean everything: snorkel gear, coolers, beach chairs, amazing beach towels, grill, and even koozies. We felt so lucky to be able to stay there. It was the off season, so most days we had the beach completely to ourselves. The restraunt and bar at Rum Point were a few steps from the beach, and there were plenty of other great restraunts near Rum Point, especially Kai Bo. You do need a car if you stay here, but well worth it. I cannot believe some people only stay on 7-mile. You really do miss everything if you do not come to the North Side or the East side of the island. We cannot wait to come back. The snorkeling is great right off the beach at the Retreat. It was a great vacation and an amazing honeymoon.

My wife and I booked this unit for the first four nights of our Cayman trip! Matt and Tracy were great at sending me information about the unit and the area prior to the trip. The condo was perfect for us and was even better than the pictures! It was furnished and decorated so well that we'd like them to come to our home and do the same ; ) We had everything we needed and more!!! We ate all our meals on the patio and had very nice candlight dinners. The NorthCoast Management on site were great and responded quickly when we called. Snorkeling was awesome and we highly recommend taking the walk to Cayman Kai and riding the current back to Rum Point- we saw stingray, all kinds of fish and even a friendly sea turtle! Some of the brain coral forms were as big as a Volkswagon Beetle!!! Bring everything you need to eat in, or go next door to Rum Point and enjoy the bar and grill and/or the restaurant. We had the catch of the day and split the entree' and and appetizer and were pleasanty full. The meal was very delicious. Over the Edge was also nice for an evening meal, but apply bug spray before you go out. Having Red Sail Sports nextdoor made it very easy to book our trip to Sting Ray City, A Must Do! A car is convenient to have to run for more groceries or Caybrew. It's also a nice way to see other beaches and the rest of the island! Matt and Tracy provide some great info in the unit if you want to go exploring. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home! It was phenomenal and we'd do it all over again, maybe even with the kids!

My boyfriend, sister and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. Being an amateur snorkeler, this area is a great place for beginners. My boyfriend and I saw squid, barracuda, stingrays, huge lobster, flounder, puffer fish, parrot fish, and much more. One of our favorite things to do was eat all our meals and read on the screened-in porch. Great amenities - washer/dryer, kitchen with utensils (pots, pans, dishwasher, flatware), extra snorkel gear. Would definitely stay again when returning to Grand Cayman.
The area - Rum Point - was very nice as well. While it was far from the rest of the island, it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle the cruise ships cause along 7 Mile Beach. Very relaxed and peaceful. The restaurant right next to the Retreat was great. I had yummy fish and chips and a strong mudslide haha. -

Left on 05/11/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Matt and Tracey were great from the initial inquiry for rental through the end of our stay. They answered all questions and provided plenty of information to help plan our vacation.
The unit is very well appointed/decorated with all the amenities one could hope for in a vacation home and then some. The view from the screened in balcony is amazing. The unit overall seemed to be one of the best, if not the best in the complex.
The location of the complex is great in that it offers plenty of privacy even with Rum Point (popular tourist attraction) located right next door. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing (yes you can see both if you get up early enough). A car is a must if you wish to explore the island which we did. Drove to the turtle farm, seven mile beach and "into town" as well as exploring the east end.
The beach is small but is very good. Be sure to bring reef/water shoes as there is a good amount of turtle grass and some rocks along with some sandy areas. Our 3 y/o had a blast making sand castles and looking at the "yucky crabs" and snails. During our stay the water was a little choppy and the wind was blowing pretty well. Overall the beach is good for swimming and snorkeling. Saw a baby sting ray near the beach and a barracuda under the dock. Did not venture all the way out to the coral gardens since the water was choppy but did see a variety of sea life snorkeling not too far from shore. As recommended by Matt & Tracey we ventured out to other beaches and were glad we did.
Would definitely recommend Rum & Kai to anymore looking for a quite getaway.

My wife and I just returned from our weeks stay in early april at "Rum & Kai". We have rented previously owned units throughout the Caribbean, FL, AZ, Maui and Canada. We must say that this unit comes with all of your essentials (+ many extras) to make your vacation enjoyable. Only your personal items will be all that you need. The in-suite washer/dryer is an added bonus to take home your duty free items as you will only need a few days worth of clothes. Previous comments and owner's desciption are accurate so we will not duplicate. Rum Point is very remote for those who enjoy solitude. You will need a car though to see other parts of the island and for restaurants. Dining is very casual dress from big city standards (shorts, golf shirt and sandals are the norm). "The Retreat" property is well maintained and the owners provide very useful info on where to dine, snorkel and dive, both before you arrive and in the unit itself. For those who wish to visit Seven Mile beach, the car trip is approximately 50 minutes and we enjoyed our full day there. Take along the owner's beach chairs, towels and cooler provided and beware of the cruise ship(s) visitors. No Disappoinments from us.

We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and would absolutely stay there again. Overall, an amazing trip!

We were wowed by this condo from the moment we opened the door to see the beautiful ocean view that we were going to enjoy for the next week. The photos on this listing are very accurate, as is the description of the unit & the area. The third-floor location means you get a great view of the ocean, and it was very quiet. It seemed like we were the only ones there most of the time.
The bedroom was very spacious and the lanai was also very roomy with plenty of furniture. We used the kitchen for light breakfast and lunch, but there looked to be plenty of small appliances, dishes, pans, etc. We enjoyed having the ice maker on the fridge to fill the cooler for a day at the beach.
Other things we especially liked:
Lots of extra towels/linens in the unit
Ceiling fans in living room & bedroom (and the a/c cooled down quickly)
Beach chairs/coolers/snorkel fins
Washer/dryer so we could bring half the clothes we needed for the trip
Wifi was great (although we did have trouble getting it to work - along with the TV - when we first arrived but the condo's office staff helped us out quickly)
Use of local and international telephone in the unit
The snorkel guides in the unit (and online)
location :)
This was our first trip to Cayman and we were very happy that we chose the Rum Point area versus Seven Mile Beach. We visited SMB on two different days and were glad to experience it, but Rum Point was more our style. We enjoyed snorkeling on several different beaches in the area, loved being able to go right next door for outings with Red Sail and the restaurants in the area were very reasonable. -

My husband and I love Grand Cayman. Rum Point is our happy place. We went here for our 10th anniversary trip in July. We gambled during hurricane season and it paid off. Rum and Kai is perfect for a couple's retreat. I loved the condo. It suited our needs perfectly and was very well equipped. We enjoyed ourselves greatly and would definitely go back in an instant! The owners were very responsive and their place was immaculate. I have no reservations to highly recommend this place! Thanks so much!

We had a fabulous time at #13 Rum & Kai. The flat was perfect - great location, superbly decorated and kitted out. But by far the best part was the snorkelling outside - what and underwater paradise! I think we would have been lucky to have seen Nurse Sharks, Eagle Rays, Sting Rays, Hawksbill and Green Turtles, Green Moray Eel, Yellow Fin Grouper, giant Parrotfish, Spotted Lobsters, Barracuda and so much more had we paid to go diving. But here it was right on the doorstep. We very much hope to be back. (The underwater snorkeling guides provided were particularly nice to have).

My Husband and I rented the condo for 4 nights for our anniversary. The condo was very clean and well stocked. We loved the screened in porch and the convenience of having a kitchen and washer/dryer. One of the best snorkelling spots on the island is just a few yards from the condo. We stayed in Seven Mile the last 2 nights and while there are more things to do, we deifinitely enjoyed the condo more!
Dinner at Kaibo was well-prepared but the portions were small. I guess when you're paying 35 bucks for a piece of fish, you are expecting a normal portion size not appetizer (or sushi) size. Rum point was great for a casual lunch. Nice to sit right on the beach. We did rent a car which I highly recommend. Just to have more dining options and tour the island a bit. We had dinner at the Lighthouse. The atmosphere on the patio was very romantic. The drinks and appetizers were good. Our fish was overcooked, though. I can't remeber the name of the restaurant but our favorite was the one owned by the Indian gentleman. The lobster was fantastic! -

Grand Cayman's a real divide in terms of places to stay and we were in 2 minds
about which part of the island to stay on and the type of accommodation to stay
in.
Matt was really helpful and honest with all the questions we had and staying in
Rum Point really was a great call. The apartment and the views were
spectacular and really well laid out. We absolutely loved it.
Having seen 7 mile beach on the 2nd part of our stay, it really doesn't compare.
Highly recommended for winding down, getting away from it or just the pure
romance of the location and the views. -

Just returned from a wonderful 8 night stay at Rum & Kai at the Retreat at Rum Point. What an incredible week we had at Rum & Kai! Rum Point is a wonderful, family oriented paradise to relax and enjoy swimming and snorkeling. Rum & Kai is well equipped and immaculate. The Wreck bar and Red Sail is conveniently located next door at Rum Point. Enjoyed a wonderful morning on the Red Sail Glass bottom boat with Capt. Jimmy at Stingray City.

What a beautiful place! Great view of the caribbean blue waters. The condo
is very spacious, with everything you could possibly need. Even in a condo
complex, we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Loved the close
proximity to Rum Point. After a trip around the island, we think this
location has the best view. We are looking forward to our next trip to
Grand Cayman, and Rum & Kai. -

Very nice unit, very clean, very well equipped, excellent location. The security seems good; there is a restaurant and bar close by, they are never seen or heard. A great screened lanai, good snorkeling out front, better snorkeling not far away. A kitchen with all of the toys and an eclectic video library.

My husband and I stayed at Rum & Kai for our 10th anniversary. We wanted an nice quiet, cozy place that was on the beach. We sure found it. Matthew, the owner, was great at getting back to me and answering all our questions when we were deciding on where to stay. The view is so incredible, the pictures didn't do it justice. We had a ritual of sipping our coffee each morning out on the lanai and just listening to the waves and rustling palm leaves, not saying a word to each other. Sheer bliss. The condo is spacious and well appointed. I made sure to ask if there was a blender. My husband had a blast making coconut drinks from the coconuts found on the grounds (he always wanted to do that!). The welcome packet included snorkeling maps to some fantastic areas off the beach I'm sure we would have missed otherwise. The beach is great. Nice and quiet just like we wanted. Some days we were the only people on it. Next door is small beach club that is a bit more lively on some days. The mudslides there at the Wreck bar were awesome, but pricey. We ate dinner next door at the Rum Point Club restaurant and I would highly recommend it. We were accurately advised the food was much better there than lunch at the Wreck Bar. While we used the barbecue grills most nights, we did eat at Kaibo Yacht Club and Over the Edge, both were very good. If you want a special dinner, the Lighthouse is great. Ask for the special table for a really romantic experience. We are so glad we stayed here and hope to come back for our 15th. The Cayman Kai area is nice and laid back, like the Caribbean should be. Wonderful owners and just a real special place.

Just recently returned from a week+ stay at Cayman and the Retreat. This location is great. It is right on the ocean front on the quiet, yet bueatiful North side. It has a great beach, it's own pool and next to Rum Point; which is a great beach and restrauant area.
The Rum and Kai condo has all you need, secure/ safe place and nicely decorated. The owners and property management were great to work with and the process was very easy also. Would defintely return to Cayman and the Retreat again.

This unit is the best we've encountered after many many trips to various locales. This condo is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and provides all amenities. We never needed the air-conditioning as there are windows on three sides of this unit that supply wonderful cross-breezes. It was a treat to come inside from the heat to this naturally cooled condo!
The views from the lanai are amazing and relaxing. We enjoyed many glasses of wine on the balcony! This location cannot be beat. Rum Point is right next door and offers a small scale offering of restaurants, bar, gift shop and an excursion company.
Good snorkeling on site as well; spent time with a baby ray..visited the resident barracuda under the dock; lotsa fun!
Our goal was to avoid the business of Georgetown and stay somewhere idyllic and this is defnitely the place and condo unit where we found it. -

My husband and I stayed at Rum & Kai 11/09. It
was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We did
not cook much, but the kitchen looked like it had
anything you could possibly need. I especially liked
sitting on the lanai which was very private and had
a great view of the beautiful water.
If you want lots of action, crowds and nightlife, stay
in the Seven Mile Beach area. The Rum Point area is
beautiful, very quiet and relaxing and was a nice
base for exploring the island. We really enjoyed
our stay. -

Milford, CTHard Pressed to Duplicate!
Left on 11/08/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This condo is located on one of the most magnificent spots that we could have imagined. It is a beautiful, quiet, secluded beach located next to Rum Point—a key destination in the Caymans. The beach also provided amazing and safe snorkeling. This was our first time snorkeling and we were able to see some incredible sites just 30 yards off the beach.
The condo itself is gorgeous, spacious, and has everything that we needed. It also has a screened lanai with a view of the ocean that was perfect for breakfast and lunch. And Rum Point, just walking distance from our beach, provided numerous water sports, dining, and bar.
We will be hard pressed to duplicate a vacation spot as beautiful as this.

The condo is immaculately kept with everything you could possibly need. The property is clean, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The location is away from the noisy and crowded commercial district of 7 Mile Beach, but right around the corner (100 yards) from the beach club where you can spend the entire day lounging/relaxing, enjoy food and drinks, and watch the incredible sunsets. Although we're both rather novice, the water is perfect for snorkeling. The location also allows you to explore the lesser traveled parts of the island (we thoroughly enjoyed the botanical gardens which were virtually empty). My husband and I felt that we really got to see and enjoy the island without being stuck in the tourist areas, but weren't isolated, as we could take a short drive and be in George Town. We highly recommend this condo and are planning on returning next year.
