The Pod House is a purpose built villa designed for couples, a stones throw from Cousteau Resort. The Pod House is the sister property to the House of Bamboo. A contemporary design with organic natural features, set on the shores of Savusavu bay. You enter through your own private courtyard with marble tiled saltwater pool, with living and dining pods on either side. On arrival to the Pod House, I was blown away by awesome the property was. It exceeded what we expected. It looked like this was a home right out of a Home Decor magazine. Very well decorated, giving you the Fijian feeling.
The King size bed was very comfortable with high grade linens. Spacious shower with separate toilet and double sinks were a plus. Had Pure Fiji toiletries to shower for a few days. The kitchen was as well stocked as my kitchen at home. As my husband & I love to cook, t this was very important to us. We bought our Fresh Fish / Lobster, Fruits & Vegetable at the Local Market which is a few miles down the road. We even had a barbecue to use. We did take a few siestas on the Daybed by the pool... was very private. As it was winter there, the pool was too cold for us Floridians to use, but was lovely to look at. We could not get enough of the spectacular views in front of the home. You could see miles and miles of the bay with an extinct volcano in the background. Every night there were spectacular sunsets to watch as you sip on a glass of wine from the veranda. Easy walk to Cousteau Resort where you can dine and take Dive trips if you like. There also a famous snorkeling Coral Bed called Split Rock that you can walk to. Taxis are abundant and cheap to use. We did rent a car to explore more of the Island. I recommend this only if you are use to driving on the left side of the road.
As my husband was there for business, he needed to have High Speed Internet. The complimentary Wifi was great to have & worked well.
The Fijian people are the happiest people in the world! Loved how they say "Bula" with a smile everytime! I highly recommend that you do not stay on the main Island - go to Vanua Levu to experience true Fiji!
