“Absolute Paradise!” I was currently travelling the world at the time when my partner came out to Fiji to see me from the UK. It was a journey and a half for him- but it was totaly worth it. This place is so special and has the perfect balance of feeling luxury and having all the home comforts that you would need. The property has so much character, completely one of a kind. I really couldnt fault this place, and the memories of staying will stay with us both forever. Thanks Brad & Theresa who helped make our visit once of a lifetime! x

“Amazing place and amazing hosts” I stayed here with my two children - ages 7 and 11. Karen and Edward are amazing hosts and, while living just up the drive, left us to do our own thing - but were also available to answer any questions or give advice. The beach is fun and safe and it's just a short walk along the beach to the jetty and Jean-Michel Cousteau's which we were able to use for jumping off into the sea and for snorkelling. Savusavu is a hidden gem in Fiji and I recommend anyone thinking of a Fiji holiday to include it in their itinerary... and if they do, to stay in one of the places offered by Karen and Edward.

Awesome place to stay in Vanua Levu

We wanted a grand tour of the Fiji islands and needed a place to stay on Vanua Levu. We found Fiji Beach Shacks online, probably through Tripadvisor. The owners were very easy to deal with, very friendly! The house is way up on a hill overlooking the water. Sunset views are spectacular. Of course, the 100 steps up to it allowed for a built-in workout every day. Cabs in to town were quick and easy to arrange. There is a book in the house with all the to-do phone numbers and recommendations. We snorkeled Split Rock, which is a short walk down the road toward town and a short swim out. Not to be missed! The other direction on the road is up to the Cousteau resort, which we walked to for a very expensive lunch one day. The house looks brand new. It is very 'beachy' feeling in its openness and colors. Comfortable, quiet, great views, nice pool (now even better, I hear.) The deck was great. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, flatware and appliances. Not much on the 1-station TV, though. We arranged for a trip out to the bay to see spinner dolphins, went diving with Collin from Koro Sun (fantastic!), snorkeled every day and enjoyed the great restaurants in town. Looking back on it, we can't believe how nice this place was for what we paid for it. Great experience and we have tons of pictures to remember it all by.see more
SigaSiga Sands Plantation Villa
A paradise home away from home with a world class reef at your d

Our family of four called SigaSiga home for four months in 2009-10 and the Villa was a perfect fit. Beautifully-situated on a lush 119 acres, we found the Villa to be clean and perfect for our needs. The furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped and the space is cool and comfortable. There is a/c but we chose to keep cool with fans and the gentle breeze blowing through well-screened windows. We spent most of our stay exploring SigaSiga's extensive reef system, which is truly world class. The hardpan is full of interesting critters and offers some really nice beginning snorkeling spots at high tide. (Be sure to pack some reef shoes!) For adventurous and experienced snorkelers, the double-fringe reef is teeming with life. While gorgeous, this is not a beach like you'd find on Grand Cayman or other "tourist beaches." If you are looking for that, you may want to go elsewhere. For reef explorers though, this is paradise. There are a number of beautiful hikes in the neighborhood as well and Koro Sun Resort is a walkable distance away. We preferred visiting Jim and Louise at Yau Kolo Campground, who serve the best and coldest beer around. We relied on the Nagi Nagi bus and reasonably-priced taxis to take us into Savusavu town for supplies. When we didn't feel like cooking, our neighbor and host Sunita Chand provided us with delicious Indian curries, dahl and samosas for a very reasonable fee. We were charmed by our local hosts during our visit. The Chand's are truly lovely people. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them as well as our other Fijian neighbors who live a short distance away. Note that this was the way we wanted it though. The property has changed some since our visit, thanks to weather and landscaping changes, but we couldn't think of any place we'd rather stay upon our planned return to Fiji this summer.see more
Bayside Bure.....beachy living at a peachy price!!
Perfect

I don't know where to begin, after a 1 hour flight from Nadi International airport we were met immediately at Savusavu airport by a friendly and knowledgeable taxi driver (complimentry). After a scenic ride through Savusavu town we arrived at Bayside Bure. We were greeted by Edward and briefed on the facilities and amenities. The design and decor is top notch and is a great value for any traveler. The paintings by Karen, (our hostess), add a relaxing feeling while indoors. The main room is open and airy with a ocean facing balcony that provides awesome views of Savusavu Bay and breath-taking Fijian sunsets. A short walk leads to an excellent sandy beach that is easily accessible for excellent snorkeling opportunities or just a dip in the ocean to get wet. The long beach is perfect for long morning and evening walks which were always a pleasant experience and also a great way to meet the neighbors. There was also a complimentary double kayak to use at our convenience if we wanted to do more adventurous explorations. Fijians are very friendly & Edward and Karen go above and beyond. I have yet to meet more amazingly generous hosts. From the location to the amenities, we could not find a single item for complaint. In summary, I would definitely recommend the Bayside Bure to a friend or anyone that wants to experience a comfortable, relaxing & trouble free vacation. Vinaka vakalevu!see more
