Response from the owner Dear Toes up in the sand, we are very sorry that your time at the House of Bamboo was not what you had hoped for. We are very sorry that we weren’t able to rectify the lighting during your 16 night stay. You will be pleased to know that the lighting has been replaced and added to, a new shower head installed and screens replaced. During your stay the hot water system was replaced as was the hair dryer. The French press is there as a back up for the coffee machine and the docking station is on the bedside table. Unfortunately we can’t control the speed of the free wi-fi that is provided. We are also sorry that you did not enjoy the free cleaning service. Many guests stay to chat with our cleaner Kalesi as it is a great opportunity to get to know the locals, some guests laze by the pool whilst the cleaner is there or pop down to the beach, none are asked to leave. We rectified and apologised for all the items that we had to replace for you during your stay unfortunately some other items are beyond our control. As to previous reviews our most recent one for the House of Bamboo you will see was in January 2013. Again we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay as between ourselves and our local managers we do always try to do everything possible so that our guests enjoy their time in Fiji.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Bruce/Jen (the owner) a message.

If Bruce/Jen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
