“three week stay with a young family of five, first time to Fiji” Traveled with 3 kids (2, 4, & 6). Service was excellent, esp Kerry before we left. The caretaker, Ramesh, was helpful with his local knowledge. He baby-sat a few times refusing payment, cooked a lovo dinner outside our back door, bought meat from the Nadi butcher etc. He lives 2 minutes away. The property was great, kids in one room parents in the other, 2 bathrooms. Large living area ideal for a long visit, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher & laundry. Never ran out of hot water. After each day our tired kids watched a movie as we admired the view & cooked dinner. A car is essential. With baby seat our wagon cost $FJ 93/day. Sigatoka is a 30 min drive, beautiful Natadola Beach 1 hr, Pacific Harbor 1 hr. Petrol stations are cash only (outside major shops/supermarkets, it's a cash economy). Driving is safe but watch for roaming animals & speed cameras! Sigatoka now has a supermarket comparable to Nadi. Cooking was easier for adults.. a farmer selling spices at Sigatoka market gave us amazing dahl & curry recipes. Meal options were more boring for our kids but they coped & loved the pineapples, bananas. All up, Totoka Kalou was excellent for what we wanted to do. Here's what we got up to: First week we drove/walked down to Maui Bay to swim in the pool, snorkel, horse ride & climb fallen coconut trees. Kids loved the jetty, watching fish. 2nd week we ventured afield & went to resorts. Only the Outrigger didn't let us in. Our kids preferred Naviti, we the Warwick (snorkeling). Resorts were free to enter but on our last day Warwick said we should be paying $20/day each, maybe because school holidays had started? Third week was the most fun. We picked up hitchhikers, were invited into their villages to play rugby, kids visited a school. We met a village chief & had our best meal in Fiji cooked by his wife in their house! Take root kava when you are invited anywhere. A horse ride to the waterfall & 3-hr dinner conversation with the Eco Cafe owner were highlights

“Absolute Paradise!” I was currently travelling the world at the time when my partner came out to Fiji to see me from the UK. It was a journey and a half for him- but it was totaly worth it. This place is so special and has the perfect balance of feeling luxury and having all the home comforts that you would need. The property has so much character, completely one of a kind. I really couldnt fault this place, and the memories of staying will stay with us both forever. Thanks Brad & Theresa who helped make our visit once of a lifetime! x

“Bularangi - Second time around, somehow even better than the first!!” Bularangi is amazing! As we were returning guests we knew what to expect and were not disappointed! Awesome house, amazing views, amenities, million dollar position and extremely relaxing. 1 week is not just not enough. 6 of us stayed this time, my mother, my wife, our two daughters and our grandson (who learnt to swim in 3 days in the lovely pool). Kamlesh and Manju can't do enough to help, they make your stay that much better and are extremely friendly too. We hire a car from Nadi which gives us the flexibility to explore the area. The drive from Nadi is an easy 2.5 to 3 hours and you get to see the beautiful country side and ocean all the way. Thank you Ali and Baz for your foresight in building such an amazing house in a beautiful location! Barry and Sonja

“Second Stay...still perfect!” This was our second stay at this wonderful hide away. Everything was again, just perfect. The children had a great time, we were spoilt by the staff and Patrick the owner. He went out of his way to ensure our stay was as perfect as the first. This is the only place to stay in Fiji. Private, great value for money and nothing was too much trouble. We have booked again for our third stay next year.....can't wait!

Some of the sights you will definitely want to see include:

Beachfront COCONUT Cottage 2- Loaded w/amenities, Clean, Private. 1 or 2 bedroom
Beautiful, oceanfront, tropical setting

Stayed in Coco Bure 5 nights april 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful, well maintained, expansive grounds right out to the ocean. Excellent clear water snorkeling in lagoon straight out with beautiful hard coral and great variety of fish. A bit of a challenge to get fairly calm water conditions but interesting snorkeling close in at high tide anytime. Very close to Koro sun divers for diving or off boat snorkeling. Good hiking trails through rainforest. Plenty of fruit bats. Friendly resident Care-taking family and gene is a good host. Very short walk to bus stop. Just a great place to relax and unwind.see more

“Great location with ocean views, breeze & sound - Just fantasti

We loved this spacious villa perched on the hill overlooking the coral beach and sea. My wife, brother & kids missed it soon as we left. Every day we loved the breathtaking views from the balcony and could not stop to think how lucky we were stay in Fiji at this location. We appreciated the small things that were there ready to be used like tea bags, milk, eggs, bread, washing powder & liquids etc. Clean towels, bed sheets/cover including the loo rolls! The host has been thoughtful preparing this place for guests for an easy & comfortable stay. The local care taker Ramesh who was on-call is very helpful sorting out any issues in the villa, helped us to organise island/village tours, horse riding for the kids. His advise for places to visit helped us to plan the stay. His mum's curry and roti was great and glad that we had it the first night we stayed. My daughters enjoyed playing with his daughter Dipasha & her cousin Samina. As residents from Maui Bay we used the pool facilities at Warwick & Hideaway resorts with no fees charged. Both were great! The villa has no internet service. Used local Vodafone mobile phone sim with enough voice/data limit. Mobile reception is good, no issues to connect 3G/4G service. During and after a session of rains we found a few centipedes in the bathroom & bedrooms. Ants, moths, flies were expected in a tropical country so insect killer handy. Some centipedes crawled onto cloths and luggage bags. Check cloths for bugs/crawlies in the cupboard and when repacking the luggage. We drove from Nadi international to Maui Bay. Watch out for stay dogs in the road and occasional wandering cows or horses. The hosts provided a turn by turn direction so it was easy to find the villa. The drive way leading to the villa is steep so car is essential for frequent visits. If we come to Fiji again we will stay at Totoka Kalou. Its a place for families with kids to relax and enjoy. You will certainly not be disappointed and be pleasantly surprised.see more
Vakaviti Kalokalo - Fijian Star
Home away from home

This is an an excellent find on the Coral Coast. From the booking process, to the service provided by the staff, it was a wonderful experience. It is close to supermarket, servo, restaurant, bottle shop. There is also a hire car in the servo if you want to explore the area. Fresh fruits and vegies are abundant in little road side markets and if you need a fe luxuries, there is the Naviti resort and Hideaway resort where you can purchase some last minute things like sensible shows to wear to the waterfall at Biausevu. However, I recommend you pack this yourself when you travel as they are at resort prices. Sigatoka is 20 minutes away if you want something else that the local supermarket doesnt stock but you wont need to. You are treated like royalty here away from the hustle and bustle of busy resorts. Take advantage of having a lovo cooked meal by Lolo the housekeper, her husband who is a chef at the Warwick resort and the gardner. Most delicious meal and I would recommend you do the shopping for this yourself. Ask Lolo for what to buy. Lolo also cooked us amazing Fijian meals. She really is a gem. I recommend this for a quite laid back holiday.see more
Bularangi Villa, Sunshine Coast, Fiji
Real Fiji, away from it all! So Wonderful!

When you need a break and want to just relaxx and unwind then Fiji is a great option. We had no idea how true that was until our stay at wonderful Bularangi Villa. Such an outstanding location and accommodation and only minutes walk to Wananavu resort where they will welcome you too. Kamlesh and Manju are a wonderful support to makesure everything goes well and you can enjoy complete privacy with your whole family. Couldn't recommend this place more highly and we will definitely be back.see more
Villa Mokusiga Private Beachfront Villa with All-inclusive option
You will not regret staying here

We spent 6 nights in this awesome villa. Shaan, Jess and all the staff were brilliant. The villa has the best setting right on the beach with an great view and very sheltered. We took advantage of the chef prepared meals and would definitely recommend you try these restaurant quality meals in your villa. On the last night had the local lovo dinner prepared in the garden - really yummy. We also booked in for a couple of in-Villa massages by Wati, this was a highlight of our stay. We used the free kayaks at the villa and explored the sheltered waters inside the reef. Shaan arranged for us to visit a local village with a gentle 30 min walk to a waterfall where we had a swim. We have snorkelled in Samoa, Vanuatu and the offshore islands of Fiji previously and this was the best. There an amazing variety of beautifully coloured fish right off the beach. We highly recommend this accommodation as compared to resort stays and the personal service of all the staff makes it stand out. We had an amazingly relaxing holiday and we would love to return.see more
