“Real Fiji, away from it all! So Wonderful!”
When you need a break and want to just relaxx and unwind then Fiji is a great option. We had no idea how true that was until our stay at wonderful Bularangi Villa. Such an outstanding location and accommodation and only minutes walk to Wananavu resort where they will welcome you too. Kamlesh and Manju are a wonderful support to makesure everything goes well and you can enjoy complete privacy with your whole family. Couldn't recommend this place more highly and we will definitely be back.
“Beautiful Villa, Amazing Views”
I stayed at Bularangi with my partner and another couple. The villa is beautiful, amazing views and layout. We stayed in the master suite at one end of the house, and the other couple stayed in one of the 2 bedrooms (shared bathroom) at the other end of the house. Plenty of privacy for both couples when required, and a wonderful living area for all of us to get together. The pool and facilities were fabulous - we wanted for nothing. And the staff were so helpful and friendly! I would highly recommend this as a venue for 2 couples or a family. The kitchen has everything you can possibly need for cooking etc, and the resort next door (5 minute walk) has a nice restaurant you can go to. As well as a short taxi ride away there is another resort with a nice restaurant. The only downside for us was the beach. Not really much of a beach, more like mudflats which was a little disappointing. We all wanted to snorkel, and although we did snorkel every day it was pretty difficult to get out there (wading through dirty water and rocks was tricky. But once out at the reef it was really lovely, lots to see. Although we did all get attacked by sealice on the first day and were very itchy the rest of the time. We did a wonderful snorkelling trip organised through the resort next door and it was beautiful out at the islands you can see from the view. All in all a wonderful villa and we would definitely return one day - with the kids :-)
“Wondrous memories made at Bularangi Villa”
This has been the most divine experience we have ever had...from the first contact made with Alison to the heartbreaking, silent taxi ride to the airport on our last day... The villa: Stunning! Kamlesh & Manju: Amazing! Fiji: Heart-stopping! Culture: Awe-Inspiring! We started planning our return before we had even left. I recommend ordering from South Pacific Butcher( Alison will help you) and doing a big grocery shop on your way the the villa, we were travel-tired but we were all glad we did it so we did not have to leave for supplies for awhile. Kamlesh & Manju are a priceless addition to the villa...never tired of answering our questions and helping to arrange activities for us. Also, if at all possible try to have Jai with Suncoast taxi be your driver, he is also full of so much information and you will learn a lot from him! Bula Vinaka, Bularangi Villa for an AMAZING holiday!
Response from the owner So glad you and the family had such an awesome time at Bularangi Villa!
“Bularangi - Second time around, somehow even better than the first!!”
Bularangi is amazing! As we were returning guests we knew what to expect and were not disappointed! Awesome house, amazing views, amenities, million dollar position and extremely relaxing. 1 week is not just not enough. 6 of us stayed this time, my mother, my wife, our two daughters and our grandson (who learnt to swim in 3 days in the lovely pool). Kamlesh and Manju can't do enough to help, they make your stay that much better and are extremely friendly too. We hire a car from Nadi which gives us the flexibility to explore the area. The drive from Nadi is an easy 2.5 to 3 hours and you get to see the beautiful country side and ocean all the way. Thank you Ali and Baz for your foresight in building such an amazing house in a beautiful location! Barry and Sonja
“A Taste of Paradise”
This was my 4th visit to Fiji where I have mainly stayed at commercialised resorts, Bularangi Villa was just something else! Amazing does not even begin to describe Bularangi Villa! From booking with Ali through to leaving Fiji our trip was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the Villa is definately 5 star. If you are looking at getting away from everything and experiencing the 'real Fiji' (with all the luxury Bularangi Villa offers!) I would highly recommend staying here. It feels like your own private world. After a long year this was the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries, I cant wait to go back!
This place was wonderful! The beds were comfortable and clean. The pool was clean and well kept. The whole facility was clean and well kept. The kitchen was clean, well kept and well stocked for cooking. The snorkeling was absolutely wonderful and easy to access. It was very peaceful and relaxing. A truly great place to vacation. Plenty of clean fresh towels available, for showering and for the beach. Snorkeling equipment for borrow was stored in a closet by the washing machine. Be sure to bring food from Rakiraki town if planning an extended stay.
“A place you will want to return to year after year...........”
This was a return visit, having stayed 6 years ago as a couple with friends - we returned this time with our two young children. An AMAZING house with plenty of room and immaculately kept. Our own swimming pool and the beach just a few steps away at the end of the garden - what more could you ask for!! A great addition since our last stay was the availability of in house cooked meals (I think this was one of our suggestions 6 years ago?!). Kamlesh (caretaker) was as organised as ever, and helped to arrange trips/taxis and is an asset to Bularangi Lodge. Keep up the good work Kamlesh! Spend time relaxing by the pool or walking along the beach. A great day out is a boat trip with the local fisherman who will Island hop at your request. The only downside of our trip.........having to leave the Lodge to come home : ) Without doubt we plan on returning to Bularangi Lodge next year!!!!!
“Wonderful retreat with an awesome view”
After our 20 minute taxi ride from Rakiraki we came across Bularangi. Wow. What a view. We settled in to the comforts of this quiet place, ie had a round of cocktails by the pool and contemplated "that view". Everything was ready for us and the house staff, although we never saw them, had done a nice job. The proximity to Wananavu Resort (about a 15 minute walk) was a bonus and we went there to watch the sun go down in the evening (more cocktails!) then the next day we hired two of their kayaks and paddled across the the nearby island where we snorkelled and relaxed on the sandy beach.
“A Very Special Place”
A magical place to spend a week... Bularangi Villa was a great place to relax and unwind. We stayed for a week 2 children and 4 adults, the design on the villa is perfect, with everything you could want or need. My two daughter's were swimming before breakfast each morning, and had a great time snorkeling just off the beach. It was a little windy during our stay.. Later in the week we realised that we could catch a boat to the near by backpackers which was sheltered from the wind, and the snorkeling was great. During our time we visted the snake caves, and natural waterfall, but we managed to make it back in time each day for happy hour at the Wananavu Resort which was really relaxing. We had a really busy 12 months leading up to the Fiji trip and it was exactly what we needed. We can't thank Kamlesh and Manju enough for their hospitality.. The Lovo was amazing, and the Somosa fantastic.. (I really want that receipe).
The location was amazing and the place was beautiful! Loved waking up to a view over the ocean! If you are tossing up between a resort or staying somewhere on your own I definitely recommend staying here! You get the facilities of Wananavu next door but get the privacy of your own house at Bularangi - plus the pool is right outside your bedroom door! And you get views you would pay excessive amounts for at a resort. We absolutely loved everything about staying here :)
