Description
Casa Betita is a historic adobe dating back to the mid 1800s. Casa Betita was home to generations of the same family until 2007. Since then, the house has been completely restored offering the finest elements of the 21st century with the charm, colors, textures and décor of true New Mexico including hand plastered walls, Kiva fireplaces, Vintage rugs and the artwork of local artists.
One can hear the waters of the Rio Pueblo and listen to coyotes gathering in the evening. The neighborhood horses and one donkey can be heard calling to each other and occasionally one might hear the bells from the church down the lane. The front of the house is sheltered by one of the oldest willow trees in the valley, complete with swing,
A pleasant 15-minute walk past horses, alfalfa fields and through back lanes to Taos Historic Plaza, shops and galleries, this is a home you will want to return to year after year. Taos is a year round destination offering breathtaking views, intriguing history and intimate privacy making for the ultimate relaxing and healing getaway.
Casa Betita has all modern conveniences including a 6 person Hot Tub with outdoor (seasonal) shower, Gas BBQ grill, radiant heat floors, a fully equipped kitchen, two flat screen televisions with DVD players, Direct TV, Wireless Internet and a Bose iPod Dock with Bluetooth adaptor, an outdoor fireplace and several outdoor seating areas to choose from. The house has two bedrooms, 2 baths and with the addition of wide sleeping bancos can sleep a total of 6. NOTE: The twin beds is second bedroom can be arranged as a King. The house also has two Kiva fireplaces (one in the master bedroom), organic linens, and many special touches not found in many vacation homes.
Taos is a special place of many stories. History is rich here, and the journey of each visitor under the vast canopy of sky adds another layer to the richness of the place.

Lovely that you got 2 snowstorms especially this winter and that you made good use of the woodpile for fires in the fireplaces. I always urge people to have the direction because as you noted it is a little quirky getting there the first time but that is Taos charm- gives the impression you are secluded far away but in actuality just 5 mins from town. I would be happy to welcome you again anytime!
