Are you looking for somewhere you will always remember? A villa that is really special? Villa Kalisha is truly something out of the ordinary. Featured in the Periplus book 'Bali Houses' It is a villa that has it all. When you first walk through the entrance you are instantly hit by the amazing views. The villa almost seems to hang suspended above a steep jungle filled gorge. In all directions there is nothing but trees, but 100m below you there are beautiful rice paddies, and in the distance you can see all the way to the ocean.

Villa Kalisha (VK) was a wonderful experience for my family and me. The Villa itself is set on this beautiful tropical hilltop, away from things, you truly feel like you could be the only ones around. But we were only 10-15 mins away from the center of Ubud, a very easy drive down to the center. I don't think my review will do VK any justice, you would have to experience the villa to truly experience all it's wonder. Yes... the villa is beautiful, it's luxurious, and the views of the rice paddies, simply breathtaking... I sat out all morning one day just in awe of the place and the view. But it wasn't just the beauty of the place that stood out to me. We all are aware that there are so many wonderful villas to choose from in Bali, all luxurious with their breathtaking views. But VK is different. The people involved with VK are truly special/amazing people. From the owners (Tom and Rene Springall) who were so accommodating and patient to all my e-mails/request, to the manager (Nyos) who welcomed us with such warmth, to his wife Made, and Wayan (who both cooked amazing meals and made our stay as comfortable as possible),to the security guard (Wayan) and the diver who was just so accommodating. It was their warmth, their kindness and hospitality that made this place come to life. Nyos went out of his way and took us hiking one morning to the rice fields, it rained on us but we enjoyed every moment of it. I think Made and Wayan cooked my favorite meals in Bali, they were far better than any Balinese restaurants. So we just stayed home every night for dinner. They were the little touches that makes VK stand out. It truly is my home away from home... Most of all, I feel like I have new friends that will always have a special place in my heart... I hope to see all of them again soon!

Perched on an amazing gorge the view into the valley is truly stunning and for us Villa Kalisha epitomises the romantic side of the surrounding Ubud area. The staff at Villa Kalisha are also outstanding. They treated us as family from the moment we arrived, taking care of our every need. Magie, the driver will always hold a very special place in our hearts. My husband unfortunately had to go to hospital during our stay and Magie literally held our hands every step of the way – we will be forever indebted to him. The Villa Manager, also went well beyond her call of duty to help us, despite us having to cut our stay short due to health problems. We would recommend Villa Kalisha to anybody. The villa is beautiful, the setting is magnificent, and the staff are out of this world.
