Sorrento, AustraliaA little paradise in Uluwatu
Left on 08/23/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This is the most wonderful property. The villa is perfectly appointed and the pool area is magnificent. It is truly a little piece of paradise and Uluwatu is a very relaxed Bali. We stayed here with our family (3 young children) and another family of 2 adults and 2 children and it accommodated us all perfectly. Well done Tanah at Ulus Love it and will be back every year!!!

Kalaheo, HawaiiAffordable place for family with children / Not great for multip
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The layout of this house is a tiny living room, tiny kitchenette, small bathroom (no shower, only a long shower hose that would have gotten the bathroom all wet), and two bunkbed rooms downstairs. There is only a/C in the living room (bedrooms have fans only, so they get hot at night). Upstairs is a huge master bedroom, patio, and bathroom (with separate shower and tub). The upstairs has plenty of a/C. This is a great setup for a family with kids (parents upstairs, kids downstairs). However, it didn't work well for our family group of 2 couples, 2 single adults, and a baby. The adults ended up having to go upstairs for a shower and there was little indoor room to gather. The kitchen has only a refrig, microwave, and hot plate, so don't plan on doing much cooking here. The living room is also very tiny, not a great hang out spot. There is plenty of space to lounge outside by the pool, though. The house was in very clean condition and Made (house boy) was super helpful and took care of everything we needed. This is a good place to stay if you plan to spend the day surfing or sightseeing. Not the best place just to hang out, though since there isn't much to do in the area.

Thanks for your feedback
Regarding the bathroom downstairs i wanted to let you know that we are going to install a glass return on the shower to stop the splashing that you mentioned. The living area downstairs is not large but it can accommodate 4 people comfortably on the couch and there is a second area with TV and couch upstairs. We find that guests tend to spend most of their time outside, where there are plenty of lounges, outdoor setting as well as day bed.
Thankyou for mentioning our staff member Made who looks after the general running of the house, he is amazing !
Finally regarding the statement that there isnt much to do in the area , i would just like to say if you mean shopping then yes, it is certainly not a place for that. However within a close proximity you can go to Yoga classes, learn to surf, visit the temple and see a traditional Balinese dance, visit some amazing cliff top restaurants and bars, go snorkelling and take the kids to a local waterpark. Sitting with some of the locals at the warungs on the cliffs of Uluwatu and getting to know them and their families is a highlight for our family and the kids have spent many hours learning how to make local crafts and jewellery.
The highlight of staying in Uluwatu is getting away from the busy, hectic nature of other areas

An oasis in a small country village, so peaceful and serene.
Made looks after the villa and the guests during your stay and he is amazing. If you need anything he is your man. The outside area, gardens and the pool is beautiful, large enough for entertaining. The Gong is across the road for internet access and basic food and drinks, they deliver to the door as do some of the restaurants close by.
I recommend The Edge at sunset for a peaceful Bintang and also a not so peaceful night out. The Mexican up the road is great for food and a game of pool too.
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to do it.Response from Jane Mc - 03/09/2011

It was my first trip to Bali with Destination Uluwatu then Kuta. My stay at "Tanah at Ulus" Uluwatu ended up being the highlight of my holiday.
Stunning holiday home with a beautiful pool in tranquil surroundings. Very spacious and always kept clean and tidy.
You can walk down to an amazing beach where you will find places to eat and drink.
My stay here was very peaceful and relaxing.
Had the best time and can thoroughly recommend this holiday home as a great place to stay in Uluwatu. -

Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in March 2009
Our Family stayed at Tanah At Ulus Accommodation at Uluwatu for a week in
March 2009. We had a great time by the pool and in the waves at Uluwatu and
Impossibles. Food was great at the Local restaurants and the Manager Made
was just fantastic. Highly recommended for a Bali Family Holiday for a family
of up to 8 or 3 couples. Mom and dad had the whole top floor to them selves.
The pool is fantastic and you have the whole place to your selves. The gong
hotel and restaurant is across the road and they looked after us too and kept
the Bintangs flowing. If you are looking for family accommodation in Bali
Tanah at Ulus at Uluwatu we cant recommend it highly enough and we will be
back.
