I cant recommend this apartment highly enough. (or this city)
A great location in the heart of Venice, easy walking distance to Piazza San Marco, transport to the door, marble floors and every appointment necessary,.. plus the rooftop! My new favorite place! I would get up early to watch the sunrise over the rooftops. Stunning!
For us the situation was perfect, my boy had his own room, my wife had a long awaited soak in the bath. We had all the facilities that had been missing after a time of travelling and living out of suitcases, we had a place to feel at home.
We had personal service from Chiara, who gave us all the local knowledge we needed to have an authentic experience, plus the inside scoop to get us through the 'tourist traps'.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

You couldn't ask for a better location. Everywhere was so close we didn't use the waterbus very much. Appartment was fantastic with a fully stocked kitchen so you can cook anything you like. Good fresh food available at the market across the bridge.
We very much appreciated Chiara's care and welcome and help locating everything we needed.
By the way, the two linked terraces were far beyond what we expected even having seen the pictures. We would highly recommend this appartment.

We loved our stay made all the better by Chiara the owner. Great facilities everything you would need plus a bit more (never knew I'd need a salad dryer not sure how I managed without one before! ). The appartment has everything:great location, comfortable sized rooms, great host and outstanding views.
Those reasons alone make it worth every penny. Book if your wanting a great break with no hassle. -

However I would like to comment on the amazing service Chiara, the owner, has given in getting us booked in to another apartment, and offering any help needed when we arrive. We traveled as a big family: me, my parents, mom's sister.
3 main things about altanaalbaChiara apartment which were significant for us:
1) The best location I love. The Rialto Bridge is the real geographical center of Venice Island, so we could walk to any direction.
2) An absolutely cosy, clean with a lot of space apartment (full kitchen appliance).
3) Top level, but it makes apartment more quiet compare to first levels.

Traveling with my husband and 16 year-old daughter, this was our first trip to Venice (but not last) and we chose altana albachiara based on its location, charming photos, outdoor space and positive reviews. Even with our high expectations, we were impressed! Chiara was a brilliant hostess, from the first communication with her via email, she was very helpful and friendly. Upon our arrival, Chiara met us at the dock, escorted us to the apartment, got us settled in, stocked the refrigerator with some basics and some treats, gave us a map and lots of tips on food and sightseeing. The apartment was perfect! It is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues, as there are lots of stairs to climb before you reach the front door (the apartment is on the top floor and no elevator), but the climb is worth it! There are 2 bathrooms, allowing everyone space to get ready for the day and 2 large bedrooms. The crowning jewels are the two rooftop decks on which you can get a rare amazing view of both sunrise and sunset over the rooftops of the entire city. The photos posted here do not do justice, its gorgeous, and the reason we will be back! The location of the apartment is really central; right beside the Rialto Bridge, we were able to walk, in a very short amount of time, to everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of dining and shopping options right in the neighborhood. The apartment is so peaceful, but just step outside the courtyard entry, and you are right in the middle of the action! By our second day we felt like we lived there. I give this 5 stars in every category, because altana albachiara wasn't just a place to sleep, it added very much to the enjoyment of our visit. Thank you, Chiara, for making your wonderful property available to the rest of us!

Our experience with Chiara and the altanaalbaChiara apartment was outstanding. We stayed at her perfect apartment 4 nights. it is centrally located, very clean, comfortable, spacious, has free Wi-Fi and beautifully decorated. The roof deck is amazig and it is overlooking Venice and the Realto bridge. Chiara was wonderful from beginning to end. From the communication and logistics prior to our arrival, to meeting us at the boat stop, to helping with our luggage, to providing great tips on touring Venice and recommendations for restaurants. The apartment was well stocked for breakfast and lunch with fruits, cake, pasta, bread coffee etc. Chiara was also very accommodating, allowing us to leave our packed bags at the apartment, after checkout time, while we toured Venice . our trip was just perfect and Chiara's hospitality made it extra special. What a find! Having visited Venice many times of the years, I was lucky enough last year to come across this exceptionally spacious apartment with its treasue of a rooftop overlooking the Grande Canal. With its ideal location, breathtaking 360 degree views of Venice, you are able to get a true feel of this amazing city both day and night. Please note however, that in order to gain the benefits of the rooftop you do have to travel up 90 steps. Not ideal for everyone, but a small price to pay for the exceptional views and atmosphere at the top. The apartment was exceptionaly clean and had all the amenities you could wish for including tv and Wi-fi. Chiara our host was lovely, going that extra mile and helping us to ensure our stay in Venice was magical. I will be staying here again and again, I cant think of anywhere else in Venice I would want to stay now. I have definantly been spoilt. Thank you Chiara.

I stayed here with my husband and my little daughter in january this year for four nights. The appartement was perfect for our stay. Chiara is the best hostess ever, she is such attentive and very, very helpfull. The location of the appartement directly next to rialto bridge is great. The view from
the roof top terrace is simply impressive. So we enjoyed our stay so much. The appartement feels like a real home.

The apartment was very comfortable, spacious, a real home from home. The location right by the Rialto bridge was very convenient to get water buses to explore venice and was very close to st Mark's Square. The hospitality and friendliness of the hostess, Chiara made the holiday more memorable as she gave us hints and tips of places to visit, restaurants to try authentic Venitian food, and how to get around Venice easily. The view from the roof terrace is breathtaking - a real plus which makes this apartment so special. Chiara our hostess could not do enough to help make my paretns comfortable (both over 80) - it was great to have breakfast ready for our first day too. I thoroughly recommend Chiara and this beautiful apartment to anyone wanting to have a special visit to Venice.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 nieces in June of this year. We loved it and highly recommend. Chiara was extremely hospitable assisting before, during, and even the morning of our departure walking us to the airport ferry. Service and apartment are great and unique. the rooftop views and setting are bar none best in Venice. Give altana a try - you won't be dissappointed!

Our 4 night stay at the altabana albachiara apartment was outstanding. We were a party of three persons of whom two were over 80 years old. Our host, Chiara, could not have been more helpful. She arranged our water-taxi transport from the airport and met us on our arrival at the Rialto bridge. The apartment is just three minutes walk from there and the steps to the top of the building are easy to negotiate.
Throughout our stay Chiara was available to help us find our way around and to recommend places to eat. She showed us up to the apartment which was a delight and very well equipped. She had provided fruit, cereals, eggs and coffee for breakfast.
The roof decks give amazing views over Venice, the Grand Canal and the Rialto.
The central location gives easy access to the city-St. Mark's is a few minutes walk away.
At the end of our stay Chiara helped us with our luggage and escorted us to the waterbus to take us to the airport.
Throughout our stay in Venice Chiara was a delightful host and her helpful kindness made our visit most pleasant and memorable. -

It was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We also appreciated the free Wi-Fi . The roof decks were amazing. We enjoyed cocktails on the deck, with a gorgeous sunset, overlooking Venice and the Realto bridge from one of the two furnished decks - complete with comfortable chairs, love seat, and table. We could not have asked for a more gracious host. Chiara was wonderful from beginning to end. From the communication and logistics prior to our arrival, to meeting us at the boat stop, to helping with our luggage, to providing great tips on touring Venice and recommendations for restaurants. The apartment was well stocked for breakfast with eggs, coffee etc. and Chiara brought fresh baked goods in the morning. Chiara was also very accommodating, allowing us to leave our packed bags at the apartment, after checkout time, while we toured Venice for half a day. She also helped us with our luggage and escorted us to the boat. Venice was one of the highlights of our trip and Chiara's hospitality made it extra special. There were four of us and we stayed at Chiara's unit.It was right in the heart of Venice and within 5 minutes walking distance to St Marks square.The apartment had all the amenities that we were looking for and was very comfortable. The view from the rooftop terrace at night was magnificent.The appartment was fifty meters from the Rialto bridge.Chiara was an excellent host. She was charming / attentive and very helpfull.She met us at the water bus and took us to the appartment.Chiara explained all the emenities of the unit,the local sightseeing highlights,where to eat andwhat to do. Chiara rang us the next day to see if we needed any help. She certainly was a good host.

I visited here with my two children in summer. I was so glad that I found this place. It was in the center of Venice, so we could conveniently walk just about everywhere. Chiara was also so kind and professional. We had a couple of hiccups while we were staying there, but she took care of it very professionally. The only negative thing I can think of this place is since it is the top floor of the building, you have to walk up/down so many stairs. There's no elevator. But once you go up there, you'll see it's all worth it! Best view of Venice indeed! I highly recommend this place to everyone!!

Chiara is a perfect hostess, even before we met her she was giving us tips and instructions on how to get from the airport to the centre of Venice.
Her warm welcome at the Rialto boat station was one of the highlights of our trip. Without writing another glowing report on the apartment and it's two altanas (read the reviews and descriptions-which are totally accurate), I would add that this was a perfect setting for celebrating a birthday (as we did) or a special occasion because this private home provides a treat beyond your imagination

We (my wife, 2 kids and me) stayed few days at altana albachiara
The location was perfect just behind the Rialto Bridge with excellent view of the whole Venice.
The apartment has a living room, two bedrooms and a kitchen. All rooms are very clean, well decorated and equipped with air conditions (all rooms).
Big TV, Wi-Fi, books and a lot of toys for kids, made our holidays excellent.
It is very best place for families, friends or just for couples.
Chiara was very hospitable and helpful host.
I really recommend Chiara's apartment.

Wow. We couldn't have found a better apartment for our time in Venice. We stayed for three nights at the end of a two week holiday and were ready to soak up some of the relaxed Italian atmosphere. Chiara collected us from the waterbus stop and walked us the 3 minutes to the apartment. After confronting the staircase (totally worth it when you reach the top) and being shown around the apartment, Chiara settled us on the roof terrace with a bellini and gave a very comprehensive route to tour the city and recommended eateries. The apartment couldn't be better situated, and the fish and veg market on the other side of the rialto bridge allowed us to eat wonderful fresh food (think; the best tuna we've tasted, beautiful big tomatoes, burratta and parmesan like no other) on the altana, whilst taking in the amazing views over the roof tops. If you do eat out, there are brilliant Venetian delicacies out there (Bentigodi was excellent) - but with this apartment, it would be a shame not to have at least one meal at home watching the sunset. We will be rushing back again soon.

Mon compagnon et moi recommandons cet appartement sans la moindre hésitation !
Nous y avons passé quatre jours à la fin du mois d'août. Il est très agréable, grand et d'une propreté impeccable. La décoration est sobre mais toute en authenticité et avec des éléments très personnels (pas le sempiternel ameublement Ikea qu'on voit partout). Sans doute la cuisine pourrait-elle être un peu modernisée, mais on y trouve néanmoins tout ce qu'il faut.
Mais ce qui vaut le détour par dessus tout, c'est la terrasse ! Il y en a une petite sur un premier niveau et une plus grande plus en hauteur ; de la plus grande on une vue panoramique (à 360°) sur la ville (dernier étage (+/- 5e)... attention, pour les personnes moins valides : pas d'ascenseur). Nous avons passé des moments absolument magiques sur cette terrasse ! L'adresse est également exceptionnelle par sa localisation dans la ville : juste à côté du Pont du Rialto. Tous les quartiers du centre-ville sont accesibles en quelques minutes à pied ; pour les destinations un peu plus éloignées, le vaporetto est également à une dizaine de mètres... Je précise qu'en dépit de cette situation très centrale et de la proximité du canal, l'endroit nous a étonnés par son calme.
Chiara est enfin une hôtesse charmante, discrète et très efficace à la fois : elle vous fournit toute l'aide et la documentation utile et ses petits conseils sont bien précieux, notamment pour savoir où manger. Elle a été disponible constamment pendant pendant notre séjour, répondant très rapidement à tous les messages qu'on a pu lui laisser.

We just got back from our honeymoon all over Europe two days ago and when people have asked where our favorite place was we both instantly think of Chiara's beautiful apartment!! Not only is the space spectacular with an incredible view of the city including the Rialto bridge over the grand canal, but Chiara is an amazingly warm and helpful host. When we arrived she poured us each a glass of wine and sat down with a map of the city and gave us wonderful recommendations for walking tours and restaurants. I would definitely recommend renting the entire apartment if you can afford it because it provides a space for tranquility and privacy which was much needed after a day of roaming around the tourist packed streets of Venice.

This is an amazing place, 2 magnific bedrooms with a great living room, on the top of it the amazaing teraces give a perfect view to Rialto Bridge and Grand canel (the terace is just on the top of the bridge), sun rise/ sun set you can't find better place to enjoy it!
What remarks me the most is also the welcome the host Chiara, she gave us a lot of useful informations, we do appreciate it!
This is definitively the best apartment that you can find in Venice! -

It was unforgettable! Very nice apartment, look fantastic, feel the cosiness and love in every subject. Terrace has two levels: a lounge area with wicker sofas and a magnificent view of the Canal and Rialto Bridge, the second with a dining area with views of San Marco. There is a kitchen, there is everything. Large living room with library. Each room has air conditioning. Chiara is very hospitable, always connected. She explained to us how to get from the airport, helped print our e-tickets for the next flight. Our booking included breakfast, but Kiara has bought so much food and fruit that we could not eat half of it. This is an unforgettable joy to visit this fantastic place and to meet Chiara. Thank you very much! We hope that will come back :)

About the location directly next to the Rialto bridge and the views from the altana I can be short: it's simply impressive. But there are other things too. The pleasant thing about this flat is that it feels like a real home. All furniture and things are chosen to live in, not to rent out. Great beds, beautiful books, a fully equipped kitchen, toys. We stayed in the flat with three children of very different ages and all of them felt very much at home. The many steps to reach the top floor are worth the effort. We enjoyed our stay fully, thanks to the friendly hospitality of Chiara and her adequate advice about restaurants and sites to visit.
