Description

The detached holiday farm is picturesquely situated on a small hill and is surrounded by forest. The garden terrace offers unobstructed views of the beautiful hilly landscape of southwestern Hungary. The house is situated on a quiet location on the outskirts of a tiny village (100 inhabitants) in the attractive (wine) region Villány - Siklos, has no immediate neighbors and is fully equipped for a relaxing holiday.

The simple rural village of Kis Budmer (little Budmer) has a 17th century church with beautiful frescoes, there is a local shop for groceries and bus connections to the larger cities. For other commodities such as restaurants and supermarkets you go to the larger neighboring village Borjád or the very picturesque wine villages Villány and Boly (with tourist information office). A marked panoramic 'wine cycling route" leads to these villages via a separate bicycle path with beautiful surrounding views. The route also leads past numerous wineries and restaurants where you can taste a sample of the excellent local wines and cuisine. (The use of bicycles is included in rentalprice).

In the vicinity there are several lovely thermal baths (with free sauna, indoor and outdoor pools), a large swimming lake (Orfü), the beautiful Mecsek mountains and a large recreational park (Mecsextrem). Or make day trips to the touristic region Balaton, enchanting Budapest and nearby Croatia . The beautiful, culturally rich provincial capital of Pécs is only 20 minutes away. The well-preserved castle of Siklos with an interesting museum inside the medieval walls is worth visiting. In the area there are plenty of other attractions. In a portfolio in the house you will find extensive information.

The farm is originally 100-year-old Swabian winery that has been respecfully restored. Here you will experience the atmosphere of an authentic Hungarian lifestyle, but with the ease and comfort of nowadays. In addition, due to recent improvements to the highway infrastructure, the house is easily accessible (10 minutes from the exit of highway Budapest - Pécs). The accessibility of this property is private transportation or a rental car is recommended.

“A lovely place for de-stressing...”

We relaxed in the beautiful garden, had bbq,s, went to the Castle in Siklos, went to Harkany for Wellness, had a few wines in Villany, had good diners in Boly with the locals and visit the beautiful… More
