“Harbor Loft Perfection!!” Sarah, Our sincere thanks for a wonderful first time visit to the Harbor Loft. Wow! Amazing loft. So much more than we expected. Plus, your hospitality and Jessica's welcome were the best! I can see why people love coming to Kewaunee when they have a place like yours to use. You have a true gem and you can count on us returning and telling all of our friends as well. Exceptional amenities and charm galore in the loft. Nothing was left to chance and we really appreciated the off the street parking! We also appreciated the restaurant reco's and we spent 2 of our 3 nights enjoying great food and views at Port O Call. Great time watching the boats come in and out and getting the local flavor. Our final night we went to Gibbs, just 10 minutes south and I had as good a rib-eye steak as I have ever had (and I have had a lot!!). We got to every place we had hoped as the weather was perfect (Sturgeon Bay for a boat ride, Carlsville for wine, and of course Green Bay and to Lombardi Stadium). Every night we'd find a new place to sit and enjoy the evening outdoors, then end the night on your rooftop deck. Perfect! And, as I am an avid early morning walker, Kewauness is ideal for this. With the harbor, Hawthorne Lane and the wonderful hilled neighborhoods, there was something new to see everyday. I especially enjoyed the view from Holy Rosary Church overlooking the river and marshland. We hope the rest of the summer is good for you. “Best Kept Secret in Southwest Michigan-Heart of Wine Country” As a fairly well known celebrity, I was looking for privacy, seclusion and beauty. Away from it all but still close to many friends/family in Chicago. I have traveled to many places in my life and have been to Union Pier/Southwest Michigan a number of times in the past six years, but I have never expierienced an ambience so perfect that one has to experience it to believe it. No matter what I say, it will not do this wonderful property justice. I will try. Secluded and Private. The beautiful and quiet lake. The smell of the flowers and trees, the beautiful natural light, attention to detail, beautiful wood work, art, a beautiful kitchen with appliances and flatware, silverware, and glassware that are beautiful as much as they are functional, comfortable beds, a beautiful 3 season room overlooking the lake all create a very special environment. I dare to say that had it rained my entire stay, I would have been content to stay in the cottage and enjoy a property that the owner obviously holds dear. The property was clean, the amenities were beyond what one would find in a four or five star hotel, and all claims by the owner in the listing were accurate and truthful. The pictures accurately portrayed the layout and beauty of the cottage. I must say, I was as surprised to find that Sanctuaire is on a dead end in a quiet residential street with a wonderful neighborhood to stay and I found a number of excellent eating options although I must admit, I did cook one meal in the cottage due to the fact that there are wonderful market on Chemery Street. For those who like it, I found the French Restaurant an excellent choice. The Thai restaurant was also a great place to enjoy other ethnic cuisine. The cottage is conveninent and very close to Lake Michigan. And yes, it is minutes from the house. I hope to stay at the cottage again this fall. Thank you Mona. “Lovely stay after dry australia” I spent 4 wonderful days at this house over the 4th of July weekend in 2007 having just come from australia. We are experiencing a 6 year drought in australia and I was struck by how green the grass in the back yard that sweeps down to the lakes edge. We also have a fire ban active most of the time in australia, and I really enjoyed the fire ring in the back yard where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on a warm summer evening. I made a cherry pie and a blueberry pie while I was there in their well equipped kitchen. I was able to buy fresh/frozen berries and cherries at the store within walking distance (for you foodies reading this). The kitchen/living room has a nice layout in that the person cooking is not isolated from the fun happenings in the living room. The living room has lots of natural light and 2 sets of sliding doors that open onto a deck that looks out over the lake. We fished and took a 3 hour canoe ride up to one of the chain of lakes nearby leaving from the dock in front of the house. My daughter was 1 year old at the time and I remember there being a small sandy beach where she played. There was also a hammock that was close to the water under trees that provided some shade. Nice for reading. There was a nice mix of sun and shade near the lake (for those of us who have been burnt a few times too many). We lit the 2 oil lamps in the living room that set off a lovely warm glow one evening as we ate dinner. We walked into town and looked around. There were a few historic buildings that looked interesting although I didn't have time to investigate. There was a nice 4th of July celebration with a big chicken dinner and ice cream social. I look forward to going again.
