“Fantastic view, incredibly clean, well stocked, comfortable, and a GREAT owner to deal with.” I think the headline says it all, but here's a little more detail. This was absolutely the cleanest condo/hotel/motel/home we've ever stayed in. The owner really, really, gives you a place you can call home for your vacation. It's like you're staying at the home of a good friend who thought of everything for your comfort and enjoyment. If it weren't for Penny, I probably wouldn't write this, because I want to keep this gem to ourselves. But for anyone who works this hard to provide such a wonderful place, well, I had to. How many times have you walked into a condo and see that's it not really dirty, but it's not really clean ? How many times have you run out of toiletries, not even an extra garbage bag left for you, no laundry or dishwasher detergent available ? Every single rental we've had, we had to make a shopping list of all the toiletries we'll need for the week. NOT HERE. Except for the food, obviously, EVERYTHING you could need or want IS PROVIDED. This is a very, very thoughtful owner. With new tv's, appliances, beautiful upgrades, you will not want to leave. The view is absolutely gorgeous. In Palmetto Dunes, the vegetation and trees have really grown, so unless you get an unobstructed view like this 5th floor provides, you'll never see the ocean. At the risk of repeating, the condo smelled great, and was just incredibly clean. I don't know about you, but an unclean rental can just ruin your vacation. The first minute we walked in, we knew we were going to have a great week. Ok, my sales pitch is over, lest I share this secret with everyone. Yes, the 5 star reviews are for real, it's well deserved. Thanks again Penny, and we'll see you on our next trip to the island.

“Perfect Home” This home was perfect for our 2 family Thanksgivi ng weekend. The short walk to the beach and the bikes were perfect even in November. The home is nice and the kitchen had all we needed. Perfect home!

“A tale of two” The good story: The place is really nice with modern equipment and a great terrace. The location is stunning with great views to the RTJ golf course and good connections to the mainland. The not so good story: We arrived late to a house, which hadn't been cleaned. Towels on the floor, unmade beds etc. It took us a good two hours to get hold of the owner. He managed to get the place cleaned while we ate at a restaurant. All ended well - but it does show a tiny lack of attention from the owner, which isn't very professional. A gas grill without gas adds to this picture. I can only assume the owner is more alert now about these issues, and if so, I have no problem in recommending the place.

“Perfect family getaway.” The villa was large, airy and perfectly suited for a large family. The layout gave us all plenty of room. The location is absolutely ideal and the Whites (owners) provided great local information for us as first time visitors and were available for any other questions. The availability of the Westin Resort amenities, pool, shuttle and beach access a few minutes away were indispensable. Lucked into finding this unit and will look here first for our next visit.

“Great weekend getaway at a great price!” The condo is kept very clean and the host provides lots of great amenities. It is also one of the more affordable options available in the area. “The view from the deck was addictive all times of day.” Our week at Edisto in the Deann cottage was just what I'd hoped for--beautiful view, easy beach access, flat beach with no breakwaters, comfortable sitting area, and best of all, the quiet. No dune buggies, no loud parties, no noise at all, except surf and birds. Not even any airplanes! The weather could not have been better: sunny and warm, but not hot. Our guests were comfortable on the extra beds in the living area, and our dogs had a good time too, walking on the beach. I wanted to stay longer. One thing I would change is the bedside lamp in the smaller of the two bedrooms. The lampshade is taped on with scotch tape, and the bulb was too dim for reading. Actually, the bulbs in all the lamps were pretty dim. My eyes need brighter lights. And some of the stove eyes did not work. I don't remember if we turned in a sheet mentioning that. Otherwise the kitchen was fine. When we first arrived the house smelled very strongly of perfumed cleaner, but fortunately the smell faded quickly. All considered, this was a very pleasant vacation and I hope we can come back next year--maybe not to this same cottage, but something similar.
