“Great location. Wonderful plce for a family gathering.” Our family of 11 stayed through the New Year's holiday. What a wonderful place. There was plenty of room and the house is so big that there were little nooks to get away from the crowd if someone wanted quiet reading time. The location is perfect, just 1/2 block from the Main Street in Lake Placid. We walked down to the bottom of the hill to go on a dogsled ride and cross country ski on the lake. The home is 5 minutes from the Olympic Center and 15 from Whiteface Mountain. There is so much to do in Lake Placid. We ran out of time before running out of things to do. Grocery stores were conveniently located and on one of the frigid evenings we picked up the most wonderful Italian meals from a take out place just down the street. This location had it all!

“Lovely, romantic getaway” After a hectic month my husband and I were looking for an easy getaway. The Farmhouse was perfect. It was open and airy, and beautifully designed. A really great find among the stuffier B&B; options normally found upstate. We highly recommend it.

“Amazing get away!!” This house is beautiful!! The view is incredible and the amount of space throughout the entire house is awesome!! My friends and I stayed here for a weekend away and got just that! While the cell service is pretty bad, it allowed us to spend time together and enjoy nature! There was plenty of space for everyone! Donald took care of everything, even providing the house with basic necessities that some of my group forgot! Donald replies very fast to your questions and concerns!! Overall, an amazing trip and a beautiful house!

“A CONDO TO KEEP COMING BACK TO!” We've rented this condo with friends many times in the past several years, and it's one of our favorites. Steve is very pleasant to deal with, the condo is clean, sleeps many people comfortably, and overlooks the mini terrain park/learning area. We've had grandma come along and she loved to watch the kids ski from the balcony. Also on MLK weekend the balcony was the perfect place to view the fireworks. Would highly recommend this unit!

“Great Experience” Lori and Gary were Great, and very accommodating. The scenery was spectaculur,and the house is beautiful. Food was great and I loved seeing the Hummingbirds at Breakfast. Can't wait to do this again.

“Best house ever” The house is in a beautiful setting. So many things to do in the area from antique shopping, golf in the summer, winter skiing, hiking, really great restaurants. Once you've seen the house though, you won't want to leave. Great layout for families, group of friends, special occasions or just getting away to a special place. everything is provided for your stay. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, outdoor fire pit!!! Watch shooting stars at night. Jennifer has thought of everything. Even a playroom with toys and games! “Could not say more wonderful things about this charming home . . .” We could no say more wonderful things about this charming vacation rental. It is wonderful. Everything the description says it is. You catch window-framed views of the sunset through the front living room and upstairs master bedroom windows. The house has everything you would want or need - it is stocked better than your own home - with dishes, pans, glassware, tea and coffee pots, coffee grinders, a wonderful old pool table that provides for hours of fun, flat screen televisions, high speed wireless internet and more. It is brand new, while using original bar doors for the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The stairs on the first landing are from the original house and have a wonderful, rustic railing, although I understand that new stairs will replace the old stairs on the first landing when we visit in the fall. The house is literally about 100 steps, or a short block and half to a private shared beach, with a private dock where you can rent canoes and kayaks. The marina is just a short drive away where you can rent pontoon boats or motor boats for the day. And, literally, just a 2 minute walk away is a wonderful, rustic coffee/breakfast shop, complete with Adirondack charm. The big yard has a brand new BBQ, a cast iron fire pit, Adirondack chairs, a beautiful flagstone patio and as I understand it was just regarded and landscaped to be even better than when we stayed there. Everyone of us had fun, from my 71 year old mother in law on down to the children (ages 6, 4, 4 and 3.

“Highly recommend for great food, lodging, live music,and best of” There is a small group of ladies, three of us, who like to travel for wine tastings. We found a hotel in Richfeild Springs on a lake from trip advisor reviews, close to Cooperstown where our wine tasting was going on. When we returned to the Lake House that evening we sat by a fireplace in the living room and the door was open to the second floor and could hear clearly three men talking about a battle of the Potomac. Then they talked about Pickett's charge and on the 4th of July of '63 a train 14 miles long with Lee's wounded. We did notice an accent when they spoke but could not place it. The interesting part of this review came after our return home. It appears the Hotel is haunted (I am not one to believe in ghosts) but when we told our husbands about these three men talking about General Meade and Pickett's charge etc. and how many of their friends were lost ,They Looked at Bruce who teaches history and in disbelieve, informed us this was later known as the Battle of Gettysburg and ended on July 4th of 1863. This was 146 years ago to the day we were sitting there listening to these civil war veterans and 20 years to the day that the Lake House opened in 1843. Now all six of us will defintely be returning next july 4th to the Lake House for the Ghosts and great conversation.

“Beautiful house, conveniently located with easy access to major attractions” This beautiful house is conveniently located near the major attractions we were interested (the Wild center, Paul Smith’s VIC, the downtown Lake Placid, Whiteface mountain, and Ausable chasm). It is off rt. 30 in a secluded wooded area, so it is extremely easy to get around. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owners and care taker were very friendly and checked several times during our stay to see what else we need and whether we have any concern. We really enjoyed our stay there and would love to stay there again in future.

“A great get away weekend” My family visited Cooperstown in Oct. of 2009 and stayed in this wonderful house. The location was great: it wasn't too far of a drive into downtown Cooperstown and all the attractions but far enough out of town to enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding area. This property was well kept and has water access to the beautiful lake just across the street. The views of the lake and the surrounding woods can be seen from almost every room of the house; I especially loved the rooms in the front of the house which were all windows and you could enjoy the amazing views while eating meals. This house contained an amazing kitchen (newly renovated it seemed) and bathrooms while keeping with the charm and style of the area and surrounding houses. My family and I really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning soon hopefully.
