“Great location. Wonderful plce for a family gathering.” Our family of 11 stayed through the New Year's holiday. What a wonderful place. There was plenty of room and the house is so big that there were little nooks to get away from the crowd if someone wanted quiet reading time. The location is perfect, just 1/2 block from the Main Street in Lake Placid. We walked down to the bottom of the hill to go on a dogsled ride and cross country ski on the lake. The home is 5 minutes from the Olympic Center and 15 from Whiteface Mountain. There is so much to do in Lake Placid. We ran out of time before running out of things to do. Grocery stores were conveniently located and on one of the frigid evenings we picked up the most wonderful Italian meals from a take out place just down the street. This location had it all!

“Lovely, romantic getaway” After a hectic month my husband and I were looking for an easy getaway. The Farmhouse was perfect. It was open and airy, and beautifully designed. A really great find among the stuffier B&B; options normally found upstate. We highly recommend it.

“Amazing get away!!” This house is beautiful!! The view is incredible and the amount of space throughout the entire house is awesome!! My friends and I stayed here for a weekend away and got just that! While the cell service is pretty bad, it allowed us to spend time together and enjoy nature! There was plenty of space for everyone! Donald took care of everything, even providing the house with basic necessities that some of my group forgot! Donald replies very fast to your questions and concerns!! Overall, an amazing trip and a beautiful house!

“Home Away from Home Only Better” We love this house. It is so warm and cozy. As soon as you step in, you feel right at home. There is plenty of room and open space. The fireplace and living room are incredibly tranquil. There is plenty of sleeping space and bathroom space. The bathrooms are updated and nice and clean. I love the that you don't feel on top of one another. The decor is warm. The views are incredible. We can only imagine how it will be in the summer with the Lake. I can't wait to come back. “Highly recommend for great food, lodging, live music,and best of” There is a small group of ladies, three of us, who like to travel for wine tastings. We found a hotel in Richfeild Springs on a lake from trip advisor reviews, close to Cooperstown where our wine tasting was going on. When we returned to the Lake House that evening we sat by a fireplace in the living room and the door was open to the second floor and could hear clearly three men talking about a battle of the Potomac. Then they talked about Pickett's charge and on the 4th of July of '63 a train 14 miles long with Lee's wounded. We did notice an accent when they spoke but could not place it. The interesting part of this review came after our return home. It appears the Hotel is haunted (I am not one to believe in ghosts) but when we told our husbands about these three men talking about General Meade and Pickett's charge etc. and how many of their friends were lost ,They Looked at Bruce who teaches history and in disbelieve, informed us this was later known as the Battle of Gettysburg and ended on July 4th of 1863. This was 146 years ago to the day we were sitting there listening to these civil war veterans and 20 years to the day that the Lake House opened in 1843. Now all six of us will defintely be returning next july 4th to the Lake House for the Ghosts and great conversation.

“Peaceful country home” Beautiful, welcoming home in a perfect location. Warm and inviting living room; bright, airy bedrooms.

“awesome beautiful place” I can't say enough about this. Place, perfect I guess Serene, peaceful,beautiful, quiet. Djuna the owner is Sweet and very efficient and provides every detail. The Whole are is perfect Oct a getaway, things to do places To shop,eat or just cuddle in with a fire. We will Definetly be returning as soon as we can.:)))

“Delightful Cabin” We had a delightful time in the cabin. It served us well as a quiet base from which to enjoy the local sights as well as to go further into the Adirondacks. We fished the pond early every morning and caught enough bass to release most and still have a couple of meals. We had a couple of very nice fish and lost a couple of b-i-g ones. The highlight, though, was following a tip from a local to a secluded brook and catching an 18-20" brook trout. We went on a number of hikes with the dogs, flushed a couple of grouse, and picked most of a bucket of wild blueberries, which were quickly converted to bb pancakes, muffins, and cobbler. The weather was superb - what a perfect break from the Florida summer! We found the cabin roomy, comfortable, and well-equipped. We found the lack of TV and Internet to be a plus, and when we absolutely needed to communicate a 4-mile drive north up the hill to Elephant Head trail to get a cell phone signal was not a big inconvenience. As far as suggestions, the cabin could have been cleaner, but we understand that the owner has resolved that problem.

“Best house ever” The house is in a beautiful setting. So many things to do in the area from antique shopping, golf in the summer, winter skiing, hiking, really great restaurants. Once you've seen the house though, you won't want to leave. Great layout for families, group of friends, special occasions or just getting away to a special place. everything is provided for your stay. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, outdoor fire pit!!! Watch shooting stars at night. Jennifer has thought of everything. Even a playroom with toys and games! No preparation is needed on your part. Just show up for a fabulous stay.

“Terrific Rental in Windham” This is a great rental property. The house is very well maintained and comes complete with everything you need for your visit. This includes the kitchen where many other rental properties offer sparse and/or low quality utensils, plates, etc. Angel has literally thought of everything and organized the property to make your stay enjoyable. Also, the hot tub has very potent jets which was nice for a bunch of middle aged golfers after a long day on the course. Angel was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire rental process. If you are coming to Windham you will be hard pressed to find a nicer property.

“Would Rent Again” The house was clean and had everything we needed. Maggie and her husband were very flexible and accommodating. I was with a party of six and we had enough space to all sit around the dinning table. I would definitely rent again.

“Beautiful! Relaxing! Perfect!” I spent 4th of July weekend with a group of friends at this wonderful mountain retreat, and it was all that we wished and more!! The views are spectacular, the private pond and the mountains added so much to our stay. It was like being on a private resort...the home had everything we needed to have fun and enjoy this long summer weekend, and we are already planning to return next year. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing spot for a long weekend getaway! And it must be noted how accommadating and easy it was to communicate with the owner and with flipkey whenever I had any questions-- 5 Stars!

“Great vacation” A very pleasant experience. The house is spacious with a full kitchen. The pool is very clean and nice. Place is great - most of popular attractions are located within 10-20 minutes. Owner was very hospitable and kind.
