“Home Away from Home Only Better” We love this house. It is so warm and cozy. As soon as you step in, you feel right at home. There is plenty of room and open space. The fireplace and living room are incredibly tranquil. There is plenty of sleeping space and bathroom space. The bathrooms are updated and nice and clean. I love the that you don't feel on top of one another. The decor is warm. The views are incredible. We can only imagine how it will be in the summer with the Lake. I can't wait to come back. “Great location. Wonderful plce for a family gathering.” Our family of 11 stayed through the New Year's holiday. What a wonderful place. There was plenty of room and the house is so big that there were little nooks to get away from the crowd if someone wanted quiet reading time. The location is perfect, just 1/2 block from the Main Street in Lake Placid. We walked down to the bottom of the hill to go on a dogsled ride and cross country ski on the lake. The home is 5 minutes from the Olympic Center and 15 from Whiteface Mountain. There is so much to do in Lake Placid. We ran out of time before running out of things to do. Grocery stores were conveniently located and on one of the frigid evenings we picked up the most wonderful Italian meals from a take out place just down the street. This location had it all!

“awesome beautiful place” I can't say enough about this. Place, perfect I guess Serene, peaceful,beautiful, quiet. Djuna the owner is Sweet and very efficient and provides every detail. The Whole are is perfect Oct a getaway, things to do places To shop,eat or just cuddle in with a fire. We will Definetly be returning as soon as we can.:)))

“Great Experience” Lori and Gary were Great, and very accommodating. The scenery was spectaculur,and the house is beautiful. Food was great and I loved seeing the Hummingbirds at Breakfast. Can't wait to do this again.

“Amazing get away!!” This house is beautiful!! The view is incredible and the amount of space throughout the entire house is awesome!! My friends and I stayed here for a weekend away and got just that! While the cell service is pretty bad, it allowed us to spend time together and enjoy nature! There was plenty of space for everyone! Donald took care of everything, even providing the house with basic necessities that some of my group forgot! Donald replies very fast to your questions and concerns!! Overall, an amazing trip and a beautiful house!

“Lovely, romantic getaway” After a hectic month my husband and I were looking for an easy getaway. The Farmhouse was perfect. It was open and airy, and beautifully designed. A really great find among the stuffier B&B; options normally found upstate. We highly recommend it.

“A CONDO TO KEEP COMING BACK TO!” We've rented this condo with friends many times in the past several years, and it's one of our favorites. Steve is very pleasant to deal with, the condo is clean, sleeps many people comfortably, and overlooks the mini terrain park/learning area. We've had grandma come along and she loved to watch the kids ski from the balcony. Also on MLK weekend the balcony was the perfect place to view the fireworks. Would highly recommend this unit!

“Perfect B&B; experience” An ideal location, a beautiful adriondack lake, and wonderful service, thanks Margie, made Kiwassa Lake B&B; a great spot for a get-away. The room was clean and perfectly quaint. Breakfast came with a great view and adorable acorn-shaped mini-muffins.

“Could not say more wonderful things about this charming home . . .” We could no say more wonderful things about this charming vacation rental. It is wonderful. Everything the description says it is. You catch window-framed views of the sunset through the front living room and upstairs master bedroom windows. The house has everything you would want or need - it is stocked better than your own home - with dishes, pans, glassware, tea and coffee pots, coffee grinders, a wonderful old pool table that provides for hours of fun, flat screen televisions, high speed wireless internet and more. It is brand new, while using original bar doors for the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The stairs on the first landing are from the original house and have a wonderful, rustic railing, although I understand that new stairs will replace the old stairs on the first landing when we visit in the fall. The house is literally about 100 steps, or a short block and half to a private shared beach, with a private dock where you can rent canoes and kayaks. The marina is just a short drive away where you can rent pontoon boats or motor boats for the day. And, literally, just a 2 minute walk away is a wonderful, rustic coffee/breakfast shop, complete with Adirondack charm. The big yard has a brand new BBQ, a cast iron fire pit, Adirondack chairs, a beautiful flagstone patio and as I understand it was just regarded and landscaped to be even better than when we stayed there. Everyone of us had fun, from my 71 year old mother in law on down to the children (ages 6, 4, 4 and 3.

“Highly recommend for great food, lodging, live music,and best of” There is a small group of ladies, three of us, who like to travel for wine tastings. We found a hotel in Richfeild Springs on a lake from trip advisor reviews, close to Cooperstown where our wine tasting was going on. When we returned to the Lake House that evening we sat by a fireplace in the living room and the door was open to the second floor and could hear clearly three men talking about a battle of the Potomac. Then they talked about Pickett's charge and on the 4th of July of '63 a train 14 miles long with Lee's wounded. We did notice an accent when they spoke but could not place it. The interesting part of this review came after our return home. It appears the Hotel is haunted (I am not one to believe in ghosts) but when we told our husbands about these three men talking about General Meade and Pickett's charge etc. and how many of their friends were lost ,They Looked at Bruce who teaches history and in disbelieve, informed us this was later known as the Battle of Gettysburg and ended on July 4th of 1863. This was 146 years ago to the day we were sitting there listening to these civil war veterans and 20 years to the day that the Lake House opened in 1843. Now all six of us will defintely be returning next july 4th to the Lake House for the Ghosts and great conversation.

“Cozy and convenient!” This is a great rustic cabin with all the amenities. Close to Old Forge but far enough away to get the woodsy feel of the Adirondacks. Luanne and Andy were accommodating and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!
