“Spacious villa with incredible views and perfect location” The location was ideal for nearby shops, malls and beaches. 3 kayaks were available to use and we found these most enjoyable especially when we got to spot dolphins! The villa itself is perfect for friends or family and the kitchen/utility are well equipped. There were also plenty of trash bags and coffee filters which are so useful when you are only staying for one week. I would definitely recommend you check out this place, I am already looking forward to going back again in the future!

Very clean facility with pool, hot tub, exercise room and oh what a view! The staff is great too. “Comfort and Convenience” We only stayed for 2 nights, but would not hesitate to rent here again. The location on St. Pete Beach was perfect. Even though there was temporary beach dredging going on in front of the condo this did not ruin our stay. The access to the beach was very convenient and there were less people and more room at this end, away from the larger hotels. The accomodations were just as pictured. Beautifully updated - everything clean as could be. All the conveniences were there and in working order. We look forward to the next time we can book a visit.

About St. Pete Beach

The 'Sunset Capital of Florida', St Pete Beach sits on the north shore of Tampa Bay. With miles of powder white sand and warm waves from the of the Gulf of Mexico gently lapping the shore, it's a perfect beach vacation destination. There's culture too, in its art museums and architecture.

Discover it all by renting a property with FlipKey - you'll be in the heart of the action!

About St Pete Beach

A charming beach haven with dolphins swimming just offshore and a variety of watersports, snorkeling and diving tours to sign up to, St Pete Beach is extremely popular.

The 361 days of sunshine a year helps, of course! But the city is pretty cosmopolitan too - it boasts the largest collection of Salvador Dali paintings outside Spain. It's also close to Tampa (30 minutes’ drive) and Orlando (under two hours) for day trips.

St Pete Beach was St Petersburg Beach until 1957 when it was joined with three others to form St Petersburg City. In 1994, it became St Pete Beach. The north beach area is called Pass-A-Grille after Cuban fishermen who sat and grilled fish there. It was also here, back at the turn of the century, that residents first set up home in the area. It became an official town in 1911 and three years later electricity arrived.

What to do in St Pete Beach

Get the boat shuttle from Merry Pier to Shell Key where you can go beach combing, snorkeling and bird watching. Another fine snorkeling destination is the ruins at Egmont Key.

Drive 15 minutes to Fort Desoto Park for some kayaking, bike riding or even to fish on the pier.

Go and take a look around the gorgeous Art Deco style Don CeSar Hotel - the only one of its kind on the entire Gulf of Mexico.

Visit the Historic Corey Avenue Shopping District for some extensive retail therapy.

Swim with the fishes at the RunFish Grill by snorkeling in the giant 33,500-gallon tank. There you could touch fins with a nurse shark, green moray eel, cobia, snook and other fish with names you've never heard of before.

Head to the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum which this year (2017) celebrates its centenary. It's located in Pass-A-Grille's first church and archives the island's colorful history.

Top travel tips for St Pete Beach

If you're hiring a car, it's worth remembering the main street here is a four-lane road with many traffic lights.

Some of the bars and restaurants can be pretty noisy at night, particularly on the main Gulf Boulevard.

Don't miss the tiny - and quiet - Pass-A-Grille Beach with its beautiful sands and historic legacy.

Get around on the Suncoast Beach Trolley - you can get it as far along as Clearwater Beach and jump on and off when you feel like it. There's a trolley every 30 minutes from 5.05am to 10.10pm daily and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

An idyllic beach vacation resort, St Pete Beach Florida isn't as crowded as some of the other big resorts in the area yet the natural amenities are just as impressive. This is the place to spot dolphins frolicking in the sea and to watch amazing sunsets while sipping on a cocktail.

If that sounds like your thing, book your vacation rental on FlipKey today!

Beach Beauty

Our family had a wonderful time staying in Pass-a-Grille in this lovely home. We loved opening the windows and letting the warm breezes in. Being able to walk across the road and directly on to the beach in under a minute was a blessing with two children. It makes it so much easier when you get sun weary, hungry, or need a restroom break. The half bath in the master was small but perfectly suited for a week stay. The full bath between the bedrooms was sufficient for our needs with a few janky drawers and no shower amenities. Hand soap, toilet paper, towels, laundry detergent, dish soap and dishwasher tabs were generously appointed. Longer stays at AIRbnbs are often stocked with various small snacks or baking supplies, however, if you plan to do any cooking for your family, bring your own spices, sugar, and so on. Salt + Pepper are the only cooking essentials provided. There is a coffee pot, full oven and electric stove top, refrigerator, and stacked washer + dryer in the kitchen. We loved all the rolled up beach towels by the front door, the outdoor adjustable temperature shower for rinsing off sand from the beach from bodies and suits and the mono temperature hand held shower sprayer at the back of the house which was perfect for spraying sand from feet and hands. The outdoor furniture made for a comfortable way to enjoy the weather. The white table is a nice sunny place to gather with family and the Adirondack chairs and higher table allow for a view of the ocean from the comfort of your own front yard. While we didn’t use it, there is a grill near the back door of the home as well as another Adirondack and table set. A parking space is available behind the home (you have to drive up one of the alleys between house rows to access the parking space. We did not use the newer keypad on the front of the home but we did find the keypad at the back of the home quite easy to use. As with all of the homes in Pass-a-grille, each house sits close to the next. Despite this, privacy never was an issue: We kept the blinds on the left and right sides of the house closed for the most part to allow ourselves and the next door neighbor a bit more privacy. One of the front window blinds is missing a part of the pull string which meant only part of the blind wanted to go up, so we would just wrap the remaining string around the hanging side and it lifted it up so we could have full views of the ocean without any blinds hampering it. We LOVED that view!! Just gorgeous. It’s so beautiful to see the color variations of the water and all the white capped waves after sailboats would float by. Plenty of bedding was provided and both beds were comfortable. The king size bed in the master has some movement to it, so, if you’re restless in the middle of the night, you may wake up your partner if you jostle too much. The dresser, closet, various baskets, and tv we’re all used regularly. We prefer to sleep with the sound of a fan—there are ceiling fans which we loved, but there was only one small red oscillating fan in the hall closet. Be careful to not flip the room light switches off as it will affect how the remote works to power on the lights/fan. The pillows are plushy and comfortable (no need to bring your own) and the soft blanket and quilt combination on the beds made for a perfectly weighted but not too hot or chilly way to cover up at night. There is a leather couch and chair in the living room to read books from the shelves or tv that is on a swivel, making it lovely if you’d like to continue a show while eating your meal at the dinner table or bar stools provided at the kitchen counter. Beach chairs, toys, buckets, and an umbrella were available to use which was such a delightful option for us! Tile floors are throughout the house making it easy to sweep up messes. Pass-a-grille is a very walkable community. We enjoyed church on Easter Sunday at the community church, ate dockside at Sea Critters, watched pelicans at the Merry Pier, had breakfast at The Seahorse, Ice Cream bear the Brass Monkey, and take out pizza from Gennaro’s. You can walk down the beach the Don Cesar, a huge pink hotel, that is fun to look at or head inside to eat at their restaurant or get a gelato from their ice cream shop. You’ll love the stunning sunsets on the beach which can also be easily watched back at the house from the front porch or through the windows as you’re assembling dinner for the family. Get up and walk the beach before sunrise and you may be surprised at what you find. We found sand dollars, starfish, hermit and other crabs, and sea urchins. Nearby is Fort De Soto beach (about a 10-15min drive) that is well worth a visit. The sands are silky smooth and the waters are very shallow and warm for quite a ways out into the gulf. Ferry rides to Egmont or Shell key are available as are bikes and other amenities to enjoy. The home is light bright and airy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and feel that it was well worth every penny! There’s really no more quiet, quaint, or lovely place to stay along Florida’s coast than the white sand beaches of Pass-a-Grille. see more

Ultimate St Pete Beach Front Rental Condo #101
Nice room with a view in a nice town.

The condo was decorated very nice and had all the amenities you could possibly want--even beach chairs, toys and sunglasses. It did not have the feel of a rental property. The bathrooms were good size and had plenty of storage. Both bedrooms and the living room had TVs. The kitchen had all kinds of dishes and pots. Being on the first floor you could come up the front steps and not have to use the elevator. The public beach is next door so there are no buildings at all on the balcony side. Since it is a corner condo you have two views-to the side and out front-both beach views. The town was very clean and all the roads and intersections are marked very well--easy to get around. Lots to do and see close by but not a crowded tourist beach or town. Just like the picture shows--right on the beach--a two minute walk and you are there.see more
