This is an elegant home built in 1939 by the owner of the World Famous Five Star BROADMOOR Hotel. It has been completely renovated. There is a large spacious kitchen that is very comfortable to work in or just to relax and sit by the fireplace. The formal dining room has beautiful three-dimensional, hand painted artwork and sophisticated lighting for nearly any setting you want to create.
For those who may have trouble using stairs, there is an elevator for your use. There is a wonderful large porch, at the side of the home, with a barbecue/grill and comfortable, elegant outdoor furniture. This porch is perfect for relaxing and overlooks the pond area where it is close enough to enjoy the sight and sounds of the waterfall. In the evening you turn on the festive party lights in the side yard for unbeatable evening ambiance. There is a deck off the kitchen for breakfast in the morning sun.
A sleeping porch is on the second floor and can be reached via the second floor sitting room. This is a fantastic place to sleep during the warmer months. There is a large screen T.V., a table and chairs, a sofa and a small refrigerator for your added convenience. A comfortable daybed will sleep two more people. This home has 3 bedrooms that will sleep a total of 5 people. A sofa in the living room, and a daybed in the artist studio, will sleep 4 more people comfortably, when the season is right.
This home is located in the Broadmoor section of the city and affords privacy, seclusion and picturesque views. The property is fenced with an electronic gate entrance and intercom. There is cable t.v. throughout the house; the floors are hardwood and marble and there are three gas fireplaces. The yard is maintained by a gardener. A housekeeper is available on request, with rates given at that time.
The yard is exquisite. It is filled with flowers, ponds/waterfall, and wildlife, and is very secluded and quiet.
The home is in the city but at the base of Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountain Range and has great views.
We have the best of both worlds at our fingertips, including privacy, seclusion and wildlife with all of the modern conveniences. All amenities are just minutes away.
This home is approximately two blocks from the world famous 5 Star Broadmoor Hotel/Resort (http://www.broadmoor.com/default.asp) where there are 5 star restaurants, music/dancing, world class golf and shopping, fine spa's and swimming.
The Broadmoor has a large lake which is wonderful and very easy to walk around. There are swans on the lake. . . a most relaxing setting indeed. Also, for those who don't wish to walk around the lake, there is a beautiful bridge that leads from the Broadmoor Main to the other side of the lake and more restaurants and entertainment at Broadmoor West.
There are numerous places to ski in Colorado. They are from 1 1/2 hours to 4 hours away. Aspen, Vail and Breckenridge are some of the more famous skiing resorts.
Adult bikes are available for your use.
This beautiful home is a very short distance to two of the most beautiful canyons in the world, where you can drive/hike and picnic. Both canyons are just a few minutes’ walk away.
A wonderful zoo is less than 5 minutes away, with the website located at http://www.cmzoo.org.
There is also a very large zoo in Denver located on the web at http://www.denverzoo.org .
The United States Air Force Academy is approximately 20 minutes away, with their website located at http://www.usafa.af.mil.
Downtown Colorado Springs just a few minutes away. It is a great place to go to shop and have something to eat or drink in one of the many quaint places to eat and shop. There are 2 large malls in Colorado Springs for your shopping convenience. Cripple Creek is about 45 minutes away. The drive through the mountains to get to Cripple Creek is quite beautiful Cripple Creek has legalized gambling and many quaint shops to visit, located on the web at http://www.cripple-creekcolorado.com.
Denver is one hour away and is as exciting as any large city with its culture, fantastic shopping, museums and incredible restaurants. About 45 minutes away is the world famous Royal Gorge Bridge.
