This contemporary Caribbean setting in El Yunque National Forest is a dream destination for those who love nature, peace and quiet. Perfect for a couple getaway, cozy for a family of 3. Private garden deck, with forest views, is great for BBQing, star gazing or just contemplating the beauty and ever changing of the forest views. Close to Luquillo Beach best beach around, hiking trails, bio-bay, sailing adventures. Come stay with us for a wonderful vacation in the magic of the rainforest!

We built the bungalow as a refuge in case of a strong hurricane and as a guest house for family and friends who would come and visit. Year after year they suggested that we rent the bungalow to tourists who would love to live the rainforest ambient, our experience as architects in showing them Old San Juan or the rainforest. Well we are giving-it the try. The 408 SF apartment is decorated in eclectic retro-modern Caribbean style with souvenirs we have picked-up in our trips in the Caribbean and it is private, relaxing and magical I would say. The 408 SF roof terrace, is a solarium during the day and a star gazing platform during the night and a wonderful BBQ nook for you to enjoy in your total privacy.

While being here, you will breathe the healthiest rainforest air rich in oxygen, ozone and free of most urban pollutants as well as being exposed to healing sun rays from 10-11 AM or 3-4 PM. We are contributors to a global network of environmental data collectors thru the Smartcitizen platform. If you are interested in basic real-time weather and air quality data at our place, please visit (URL HIDDEN) enter the platform and in the map look for Puerto Rico and the only sensor, the Kokianoha ENVIRO Monitor, publishing climate data every 5 hours in PR or the Caribbean is the one in our home.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This listing is for the Garden Deck apartment (Room # 1, at ground level) This apartment is handicapped accesible. Guests with mobility limitations should opt for this apartment. if it is not available check on the Roof Terrace apartment listing (Room #2, upstairs)

Guests will receive a beeper to operate the entrance gates and are welcome to park their car in the designated space, use our pool, sunbathe in our terrace and enjoy a small garden next to the parking spot. We acknowledge our guests privacy and we respect that. In ocasions we may gather together, if they desire, to chat, exchange tour ideas and help them program their visits. I offer an optional day tour to Old San Juan at an extra cost so guests can see the historic city and its monuments thru the eyes of an architect living and teaching architecture in Puerto Rico for more than 25 year

Unfortunately there is no public transportation in our area. We are in the rainforest in a secluded area therefore you NEED a car to get around! It does not not have to be a 4 wheeler, an economy car will do very well!
