Description
Renovated in 2009, Dar Sugar is a large, comfortable house which has been decorated with flair. As well as incorporating modern facilities it still retains the cedar wood, iron and zellig (traditional Moroccon tiling) of the ancient house. It is situated deep in the Medina (a UNICEF World Heritage site) convenient to restaurants, shopping, parking and taxis and all the highlights and surprises that Fes has to offer; yet, it remains an oasis of calm in the Medieval Theatre that is Fes.
The house sleeps up to 10 people comfortably, including one occasional bed, with Egyptian cotton on all the beds. On arrival you will find a Welcome Basket which includes yoghurt, bread and jams, bottled water, fruit and a bottle of wine. Breakfast and daily cleaning is included in the rate. Other meals are available on request. Smoking is allowed on the Terraces but not inside the house.

We have had many children to stay in the house; however, the stairs are quite steep in places and they do need close supervision on the terraces.
The stairs could prove difficult for guests with mobility problems.

The entrance leads to a large INTERNAL COURTYARD fireplace.with a working Leading off is a MOROCCAN SALON, a fully fitted kitchen/dining room and a laundry room with a separate toilet. THE MEZZANINE FLOOR has 2 twin bedded rooms, both with ensuite facilities and views of the courtyard below.
THE BALCONY FLOOR has 2 double bedded rooms, one with an integrated bathroom and the other an ensuite shower room. Stairs lead up to the airconditioned TERRACE ROOM with a single bed which also incorporates a SUMMER KITCHEN. There is an adjacent shower room.
A door from the stairs leads to the TERRACES which have superb views of the MEDINA and the surrounding hills. There is a portable gas fire in every room and logs for the internal courtyard fire in winter. Portable fans are in all rooms in the summer.

At the top of the house are 2 terraces with panoramic views. There is outdoor furniture and a shaded area.
Please note that SMOKING IS ALLOWED ON THE TERRACES but not in the house.

le Dar Sugar, restauré avec gout en respectant l'authenticité de ce type de demeure est confortable et assez spacieux pour que chacun s'y trouve bien. Bien situé, il permet de vivre au rythme de la médina. Younes, toujours souriant, répond avec intelligence et efficacité à toutes les sollicitations.
