Hello We are Carolyn and Tom Calfee owners of The Grand Hacienda Estate. We found the most beautiful spot on planet earth back in 2010 - we couldnt believe land surrounded by a lake a river million-year-old red rocks and Pedernal was for sale. We purchased our land that very night. Eventually we moved to Abuquiu and now enjoy meeting guests at the vacation homes and bed and breakfast. We deeply appreciate the history and culture of the area.Today we share the beauty and magic of the Land of Enchantment and enable others to experience this incredible locationif you havent seen the sun rise or set over Abiquiu Lake and the red rocks or if you havent experienced an absence of noise and light pollution - then well youve missed the best part of Abiquiu.We have met people from all over the world who have discovered our properties. Honestly we are frequently surprised by how many people know about the little village of Abiquiuhow a couple in Australia heard about our home or why a guest from Spain would choose our home so he could swim train in Abiquiu Lake every morning. Meeting our guests is the best part of this experience. We pride ourselves in setting an example as honest ethical hosts who want every guest to have a perfect experience.
