This house is fully furnished to a high standard. Split over two floors with balcony and veranda,

Two of the bedrooms have en-suite baths.

The house has Solar Power, a must have if electricity outage occur.

All Utilities and full kitchen facilities, cleaning service once a week or more if requested, weekly linen change, washing service for longer stays and Security, all included in rent.

Electricity included and provided for. This enough for average use to last duration of stay. Should usage be more than average a chargeable electricity card is available to top it up at guests expense.

AC air conditioning can be charged with a power card as optional.

WiFi installed can be charged as optional.

The Kerr Serign house is situated in an idyllic secluded setting and friendly neighborhood.

Yet very close to Senegambia's buzzing night life, restaurants and activities.

A walking distance to beach, national park, crafts-markets and Coco-Ocean spa and resort.

“Delightful Gambian home in Kerr serign/kololi”

About the accomodation - This is a delightful holiday maisonette home in Kerr serign/kololi. Clean throughout. It has all mod cons, fridge , freezer compartment, microwave, flat screen, satellite channels, Air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms (wifi?). There is a nice patio space at the front with table/chairs and a parasol umbrella for shade overhung by a bush of beautifully blossom array of colourful flowers along the internal perimeter walls. About location - located within the local community neighbourhood amongst the local gambian community. 5 - 10 min walk to main road where you can then pick up a local taxi to get to another location or you can walk a further 5 -10mins from there to reach the main strip of bars, clubs, restaurants, supermarket in senegambia area. There is a small gambian hut shop directly opposite the accomodation and a very small local mini mart less than 1 minute walk so you can pick up essentials from there if running low on basic supplies. Downside - you will have to walk at some point and the roads off the main road can be quite uneven and clay type and dusty in the dry gambian heat they are not tarmac. The main road known as Bertil highway is currently under renovation for widening to become an expressway so the dust thrown up from the works along this section is particularly bad so best to bring some face masks and sunglasses when walking near or on this route to avoid dust in eyes and lungs. Tips - try to take a few taxi numbers when you use them, especially if they are dropping you back to accomodation as taxis are few and far between once off the main roads and there are no street names/house numbers so finding your way back to accomodation in a taxi especially at night with poor street lighting off the main can be a challenge especially if the taxi driver hasn't been to your accommodation before. On first day during induction to your accomodation, Do ensure you ask the housekeeper/caretaker to show you all areas, amenities and procedures and what times house keeper is available to contact on or off site. Also check if any of the amenities do not work. We made mistake of not checking all with them because we excitedly wanted to get on with our short 1 week break. This lead to us not knowing where water heater switches were for hot water thus having cold showers first day. Not knowing where towels, change of bed linen etc was. Bins over flowing and not knowing where to put them. There is a small A4 piece of paper on wall that does alert guests to some ( not all) of this info but it is easily missed as is not located on a part of the wall that your eyes would notice and the paper is grubby with poor font writing. We eventually figured out that the switches on the wall next to the ensuite bathrooms were for the water heaters but this was thanks to my cousin who is an electrician and noted that although the switch was marked 'Air conditioning',, it was possibly being used to run the fuse for the water heater circuit instead being as there was no AC unit in the downstairs bedroom so the switch was wrongly labelled. The house Wifi did not work but this was known for some days before I arrived and should have been notified by the owner. It may be a minor for some people but For me, the house wifi was essential due to requirement to complete online work and also for entertainment streaming such as live sports and movies which were not available on the house satellites channels. the distance from the main road or places where I could access wifi in this local community were too far to walk in the gambian heat or to be going out late at night with laptop and Wifi was listed as an essential amenity provided by the property. Possibly best to notify customers if an essential amenity is not working so they have the choice to cancel and rebook with another property that does have the essential amenity and there was one poperty nearby which I had earmarked from before as a back up plan but was never told that wifi wasnt working until day after booking started and I noticed it didn't work I have since raised some of these concerns with the home owner and she has fully taken this onboard and will ensure full home inductions are in place moving forward and switches labelled correctly, new information sheet for guest retyped and placed in a more visible location so please do check this is in place if you are considering renting in future. Over all, a very nice stay.
