We recently spent three nights at Strawberry Patch Cottage for an anniversary.
What a lovely warm welcome on a very chilly July afternoon , opening the door to the gas fire and soft music playing. The cottage is generously heated wth a gas log fire in the lounge room, a wood fire in the kitchen ( which had also been lit for our arrival) and underfloor heating in the kitchen/dining/bathroom areas. There was air conditioning in the bedroom.
The cottage is charmingly decorated in warm, antique style in the front rooms ( lounge and main bedroom) whereas the back part of the house is light and bright with a French country feel. The back room opens with wide French doors to a delightful covered patio and the gorgeous garden.
The bathroom has a huge spa bath with a pleasant view into the garden. And there is excellent lighting in there as well. There were a nice range of bath toiletries as well as candles provided.
Many thoughtful touches including chocolates, a bottle of wine, a decanter of Port, several DVDs and books and plenty of instructions for the TV, DvD player and kitchen appliances. The kitchen is very well supplied with plenty of plates , cutlery and cooking utensils and also had generous provision of condiments ( olive oil, herbs, sauces and spices etc)
The breakfast provisions included bread, jams, two kinds of cereal, bacon and eggs, milk and orange juice. We always like to BBQ our breakfast on weekends away and we were very pleased to find that not only one but two gas bottles were provided. It was a cold weekend so we also appreciated the extra firewood and firelighters so that we could re-light the kitchen fire on the second and third day.
