This amazing cabin came with all the comforts of home, Decent Wi-Fi, an amazing Viking gas range, quality furnishings and you could tell it was constructed and furnished by someone that loved this home. Lew was very helpful in describing what was needed to keep the property running smoothly during our stay. The driveway was very steep and rocky, no trouble for our 4x4 truck but I can see how it would be challenging for a car.
The property sits 5 miles from the nearest small store in St Elmo and aprx 20 miles from the nearest real store in Buena Vista. Be prepared. If you are looking to get's the Hancock Pass and away from it all and unwind this place is perfect. It is about a 1/2 mile from the Hancock ghost town, about 2 miles from the Hancock lakes. For ATV's the Hancock pass is right around the corner along with trails to Tincup and Pitkin. An old wagon road is on the property and makes a nice hike and the National Forest is adjoining. The old Alpine tunnel makes a great hike as well. The Cabin was right next to the cabin and you could hear it rushing through the open windows. It is remote, there is no cell service (at least for us) and this is not a resort getaway but if you want to experience nature at it's finest with some nice luxuries as well this is the place for you.
