“Mui Ne in style” Mui Ne is the closest beach resort to Saigon that boasts the kind of facilities and charm a foreign tourist would welcome. There is plenty to choose from in terms of accommodation but if you want the space, privacy and opulence that a development like this provides, you are in for a treat. The whole place exudes quality, from the roads, gardens, pool complex to the architecture and location. Our villa was highly specified and had many excellent extras one might not expect. The gardens are tended and the maid service very friendly and discreet. We had the distinct pleasure of meeting the owners on arrival and were made to feel very at home, in their home. The complex is on the edge of the developed seaside strip and although taxis are convenient and quick, we hired a couple of scooters in town and this added to the feeling of freedom you never quite get in a hotel vacation. Apart from a couple of 5 star hotels and a golf course, Mui Ne is not within walking distance, but the scooters more than compensated. The sea is accessible via the nearby hotels. We used one for breakfast and also the NYE party, and it was wonderful. The weather was very mild and heat or humidity never an issue. The beaches are ideal for water sports and safe for bathing. All the coastal hotels, bars and clubs take advantage of the sea and you are free to come and go for drinks, meals and kitesurfing at any of them; value for money is assured. We were a family with two boys of 16 and 20 and there is plenty to keep everyone happy. The 'scene' on the strip is very laid back but never tacky or bustling. There wasn't a single empty room in the resort yet we never booked or queued for anything. The strip has the more elegant hotels and cafes on the beach side and over the two-lane road is the more restaurant/shop type of development. There are no high-rises but plenty of trees and open spaces. A new highway has been built behind the resort so through traffic has no impact. Mui Ne has magic.
