“A Place in the Woods to Dream and Live Your Dream” My mouth dropped when I stepped into artYcottage and was surrounded by so much beauty, creativity and originality. It was endless. Everywhere I looked there were remarkable details that were executed with perfection. Rich colors and varied textures everywhere. Everything handmade from the quilts to the furniture to the faucets and tiling and even the soap! One day it was 80 degrees and I enjoyed reading on a chaise on the deck. Then the very next day it was snowing and I was lucky to be there to enjoy the beauty of nature's softness covering the branches of trees. I stayed in that day by the fire my wonderful host, Tom, built. Tom and his stunning and bubbly wife, Margaret, made me feel at home with their warmth and sensitivity. From now on I will definitely be staying here on my twice yearly trips to ashland!

“Relaxing winter (or summer) getaway in beautiful surrounding” Our family has vacationed several times at Bummy's Place. For the last 3 years, during our kid's mid-winter break, we've rented the place and absolutely love it! It's exceptionally clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet and a winter sports fanatic's dream. Snowshoe right out the front door and explore miles of trails. Alpine and Nordic skiing are minutes away. After a day outside there's nothing like relaxing with a glass of wine in front of the gas fireplace. Everything about the house is easy and convenient for guests, including the wi-fi. The kids look forward to the trip every year and we definitely plan on returning for years to come.

“Great, friendly and comfortable stay” Staying at this location was very welcoming and lovely. The location was very central in the city and close to many points of interest. It was easy to access and comfortable to stay in. The house is in great shape and was able to accommodate myself and my friends. I would definitely recommend this host and their home if you are looking for a comfortable night's stay.

“Friendly service and enjoyable stay” Vicki was a great host and she let us check in a lot earlier than the check in time, as our flight got in early. She was very accommodating with giving information on where to go in Portland, what to see and where to eat. All her recommendations were great and we had no difficulty finding them with the resources she provided us with, including a personal drawn map. She offered us to text her if we need anything. The pictures are an accurate description of this great suite looks like. Vicki was even so kind as to send me some fudge I had left in the fridge via mail.

“Wonderfully relaxing cabin” We loved our stay at the Sandy River house. It snowed 1 ft. the night that we arrived and had an awesome day waking up and walking to the roaring sandy river right on the property. The owner was easy to work with, the master bed was very comfortable and we would love to come back there to stay for our next ski trip. It is pretty close to the mountain but not in a resort- more of a quiet area to relax after a day of skiing.

“A refreshing and liberating experience!” Thank you Shane for opening your home to us! It was truly a refreshing and liberating experience for our entire family. Each of us was enthralled with the wondrous setting that "Below the Falls Lodge" calls its homestead. The gentle whooshing of the creek, the calls of the birds, and the sweet swaying of the trees rocked us into a natural harmony filled with happiness and contentment. You've created such a beautiful and imaginative home! It is so in tune with the gorgeous surroundings that it feels like the house itself is alive and growing out of the mountain.
