“Amazing Hosts” We had an amazing time at "At Our Yard" in the Hula Valley. Ron and his family were very hospitable and accommodating. The accommodations were very large and everything one needs is there. Ron's mom even left us cookies and milk! We can't wait to return and visit this wonderful and peaceful place along with our new friends.

Jerusalem apartment

“Fantastic place, and lovely people” The flat is in a great location in the German Colony. It's quiet, clean, in good condition, and very homely. It looks just as it appears in the photos. The free parking is a real bonus for Jerusalem. The best thing, though, are the people who own the flat. They were extremely helpful and welcoming, and really went the extra mile, including a classical concert ticket, and even a home baked chocolate cake! In short, highly recommended.

“Beautiful apartment in great area!” The apartment is beautiful, modernly furnished, spacious and clean. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the Mediterranean Sea from the comfort of the living room couch...a true treat. It's perfectly located with easy access to the beach and the city center. With cafes and grocery stores just a stroll away. The owner is professional and goes out of his way to address any issues you might have. We highly recommend and definitely plan to return:) Note; Apartment is on third floor building without elevator more

About Israel

The state of Israel is a bridge between the West and the Middle East. It's full of contrasts and you never quite know what will be around the next corner. You can visit Jerusalem, bathe in the Red Sea, or float happily in the Dead Sea.

To find your ideal Israeli vacation rental, start searching now on FlipKey!

About Israel

Israel has a rich history, although the State was only founded in 1948. It was populated by European Jews who had escaped the Holocaust. Muslims, Christians and Jews share Jerusalem, which is a city full of history. When you walk through the Old Town, you are walking in the footsteps of the Old Testament prophets, kings and Caliphs.

There are diverse cultures in Israel, as people come from different countries to settle there. However, the people love to eat, drink and be merry. They'll get up and dance in a restaurant at the drop of a hat.

The food is varied, but you really must try hummus and the street food, falafel and shwarma. Try Jachnun with a tomato dip but beware, that can be very hot! Shakshuka is another favorite tomato-based dish. Vegetarians can eat well in Israel!

Israel is vibrant, interesting and exciting. There's always something new to see and experience.

What to do in Israel

A visit to the Mehane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem is a must. You can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, dried fruit and olives, as well as a whole host of other Israeli produce. At night the area comes to life as it has many bars and restaurants.

Of course, you should visit Jerusalem's Old City and see the Dome of the Rock shrine and the Western Wall, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

When you can tear yourself away from Jerusalem, visit the Sea of Galilee, or Kinneret, as it is called by Israelis. It really is beautiful.

If you like Bauhaus architecture you really must go to Tel Aviv. There's plenty to explore there.

Of course, many tourists visit Bethlehem and Nazareth to witness the sites where Jesus was born and grew up. A guided tour is a particularly interesting way to discover these two locations.

If you love a beach vacation, you should definitely head to Eilat, a resort town in the south. You won't be disappointed!

Top travel tips for Israel

The easiest way of getting around Israel is by bus.

You can take a train or bus from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, or of course, you could rent a car. You should be aware that the bus station in Jerusalem isn't very convenient, as it isn't centrally located, but in a suburb.

As a general rule, you tip waiters between 10 and 15 per cent. If you take a tour, then expect to give the guide a 5 per cent tip. It's usual to tip the driver between 120-150 shekels a day. Don't tip taxi drivers.

Israel is a far cry from an ordinary vacation destination. If you want to be immersed in history and a different culture, it's the place to go. Alternatively, if you enjoy vacations near beaches, you'll love the ones in Israel!

Luxury Villa with a Sea View
Lovely Villa

I stayed here for a week with my extended family of 10 people--including two teenagers, four young adults and one grandmother. The main floor rooms were spacious and beautiful. A large diningroom table easily accommodated all of us for meals, card games and laptop use. The hosue was very clean. The provision of the maid meant we never had to do dishes or wash towels etc. (a holiday must for me!). The bedrooms were very nice (except for the maid's room in the basement, which was not very nice. This will not be an issue unless you require 6 bedrooms.) The bathrooms were also clean and well functioning. It is an easy walk from the villa to a popular all day breakfast restaurant (we all loved that) and to restaruants and bars on the beach. The neighbourhood is very nice and interesting to walk in. We used the villa as our central base from which we saw nearly all of Israel. The location worked well for our driver. The owner checked on us regularly to be sure we were able to find what we needed and operate all utilities etc. (We needed heat and we got it) The roof top hot tub provided a lovely view and the pool would have been nice to use had it been warmer. We would absolutely go back! We highly recommend it.see more

in a very sympathetic, quiet neighborhood, near haYarkon park (north), with very lovely nearby Stores, Coffee,Restaurant and good public transport, there is a nice apartment in Kehilat Krakov street in Tel Aviv. 3 months I enjoyed this apartment and the apartment owners: Tal and Reuven Haran, during my studies. I¨d love to be there again... Michalsee more
Holiday Vacation Rental by the Nature Reserve B&B option Kosher Short/Long Term
Comfortable Home Base in Zichron Yaakov

My wife and I and our 2 kids stayed here for 5 nights and we loved the place. Kate is extremely friendly and accommodating. The bedroom has a bed that sleeps two, and there are 2 single beds in the adjoining living area. In addition, When our son came to visit, Kate was kind enough to provide us a cot in the living area for a very small fee. Coffee supplies, cookies, and fresh fruit were in the unit upon our arrival, which really helped us out. Parking is available directly in front of the house and also a few feet away on the street. There are 2 big beautiful dogs outside on her property, but they are not allowed in the rental unit (I loved them, and I usually don't like dogs). By the way, if you will be renting a cell phone, "Orange" has much better reception here than "Cellcom". The rental does not have a washer and dryer in the unit but Kate did our laundry for us and returned it on the same day, for a reasonable fee. This rental is a really great value in Zichron Yaakov, and I would return in a heartbeat.see more
Auberg-Inn
Awesome place, a real oasis in the desert!

I stayed at Auberginn with a group of friends and we had a great time! The house and the garden are amazing, and are within walking distance to major attractions. Also, we could use free bikes from the house. The meals prepared from fresh ingredients from the garden were a winner! Super recommended!see more
The Jerusalem Penthouse
Perfect property, excellent location, would definetely come back

My family and extended family all got together in Jerusalem as my brother was getting married there. We came from Australia ,Argentina and Brazil. We needed a house to accommodate many people coming from different places and to stay comfortably in one place. This property was a great found as it had enough room for everybody, great living room and amazing patios with spectacular views. We could not ask for more. It was literally a few minutes walking from the tachanat where you can take transportation to everywhere. It is a short drive to Mamila (50 shekels for a taxi to get you there). The kitchen is fully equipped and if you are kosher, not a problem at all. As the description says, you have two of anything you may think of in the kitchen (fridge, microwave, sink, etc). The property looks even better when you see it for yourself, and the building is very new. The owner is lovely, very approachable and helpful. Since we booked the property he went far and beyond to accommodate all our requests and enquiries (even helping us finding a hairdresser to get ready for the wedding). I can't recommend enough this property and would love to come back. Thanks Yehuda for everything!see more
