“Flawless Stay in a Perfect Location” My family and I have stayed at this gorgeous house on several occasions, both winter (with some of the best powder I've ever seen) and summer, and we believe we have found the perfect vacation home the Park City area. The house itself is a turn-of-the-century classic that has been meticulously restored and maintained. There is cable television and wireless internet as well as a reserved parking space. It is built on three levels, with a walk-out patio on the lower level that has a large hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes. The appliances are all new and the interior temperature was very comfortable, indicating a well-insulated home with an effective Hvac system. The most striking feature is the flawless location in Old Town Park City, just a block off Main Street. We typically ski Park City, Deer Valley, and The Canyons. The bus stop for Deer Valley was less than a block away, and the Town Lift for Park City was a few feet further. The Canyons is about a 5 minute drive. Generally, there is no need to ever drive while you are here because everything is so close, including ski rental shops, boutiques, taverns and restaurants, all within a few hundred feet of the house. For Park City, you can ski all the way to the bottom of the town lift and walk the remaining city block to the house. The house has a full kitchen, including dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer to keep your ski clothing fresh. Both the owners and property manager were excellent to work with, and there were absolutely no problems checking in or out of the property. We plan to return this summer and next winter to beautiful Park City and will definately stay at this house. I highly recommend a stay here.

“Perfect winter vacation” We were very fortunate to find this gem in Park City for our winter vacation. We lived in this very large and well appointed condo for two full months. Scott and family were incredibly easy to work with and made our stay so nice. The location is fantastic! We are across the street from Fresh Market, Rite aid and Starbucks (as well as many other useful businesses). We were also maybe a 5 minute walk to the Park City Mountain Resort, which is where we had our season passes to snowboard. Another huge plus is the buses here are free to use, and the bus stop is just out front of the complex (2 min walk max). We often took buses to Main Street, which was maybe a 5 minute ride. Very convenient. The condo itself is very large, plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was fantastic, and had much more then we expected. Most vacation rentals have the bare minimum with dishes, glasses and cookware, but not here. They had enough to create a feast for 15 (which we didn't, but could have!). The downstairs living area with 1/2 bathroom was great and very open. Nice large TV, the sofa couch was quite comfortable, and the dining room was great for playing games. The high ceiling made this floor plan very open, letting in a lot of light from the second story skylights and floor to ceiling windows. Upstairs there are two full master suites that are separated by a sitting room which we used as an office. Both bedrooms have queen beds and are very well sized, you have plenty of room for everything. We preferred the first bedroom off the stairs as it was a bit warmer. Although the back bedroom has it's own heating system. During the summer, the back bedroom with the balcony would be awesome. The pool, hot tub and sauna in the main area of the complex is great! We met a lot of cool travelers there, and it was a huge plus that the pool was heated, we estimated around 80 degrees. We highly recommend this condo, and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Park City!

“Fantastic Deer Valley/Park City home - look no further for your” We had a great stay at this wonderful private home in Deer Valley. We were close to The Canyons, Park City, and Deer Valley areas making this the ideal place to stay. The house is well equipped - nice hot tub, laundry, full kitchen, and high def TV. The owner is very responsive and well organized. I had a group of 6 guys staying in the place and we had plenty of space to relax after a tough day on the slopes.

“AMAZING CABIN! Great location, couldn't ask for anything better!” The owner was amazing to work with and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great! It was wonderful for the large group that we had. Especially having the 2 kitchens, and the large family rooms. The location was great, as we went and hiked Stewart Falls just above Sundance Resort and then floated the Provo River in rafts, all within just minutes of the cabin. We were able to have a group fire pit at the park just below the cabin by the river. The wild life of rabbits, peacocks, turkeys and deer around the cabin made it fun especially for the youth of the group. Would love to stay there again and would highly recommend it.

“Perfect Fall Retreat” I used Lou's place for a wedding for my family of four. I loved the venue, which is safe, fun and beautiful. It is also conveniently located very close to the freeway. It is very well maintained and Lou is very responsive and organized. I would definitely go back. Having a place where you can cook and relax is nice and keeps you within budget. Yet, it also has the amenities of a hotel with a shuttle, front desk staff and all the fun that comes with staying at a place that is geared towards recreational activities like heated pools, yoga and even a supermarket. Thanks Lou for allowing us to have such a great time.

“Great place!” I loved staying at this condo. The unit has recently been renovated and was very clean. The studio side has a view of the mountain and is located just steps from the ski slopes and among the shops and restaurants. The bedroom has its own bathroom and television and the bed was very comfortable. The living room area is roomy and has a very comfortable queen murphy bed that folds out of the wall if needed. The unit also has a second bathroom and a well-stocked kitchenette with nice appliances. There are also balconies off of both the living room and the bedroom overlooking the skating rink. The unit couldn't be any more conveniently located for skiing; it's located right next to the lift ticket windows and is practically on the payday run. It is also right by a bus stop which was nice because I didn't rent a car but was still able to get around town to meet friends, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

About Alta

Tucked away in Utah's famous ski country, Alta boasts some of the finest powder slopes in North America. While the Alta of today is primarily known for skiing, it also has a colorful history dating back to the 19th century, when the town was founded during a mining boom in the area. After the mining boom waned, the legendary Norwegian skier Alf Engen was brought in to help design a recreational skiing facility, and in 1938, the town's first ski slope commenced operations.

Here are some suggestions for things to do while in Alta:

  • Skiing, skiing and more skiing: The primary reason for visiting Alta is to go skiing. The Alta Ski Area offers hills for skiers of all skill levels, and attracts casual, recreational and serious ski enthusiasts alike.
  • Grab a bite: Alta offers dozens of restaurants, lounges and lodges, both at the base of the ski area and at mid-mountain.
  • Enjoy the nightlife: With the influx of visitors during ski season, Alta offers plenty to do after the slopes close for the day, including bars, nightclubs and entertainment venues to suit all tastes.
  • Commune with nature: Wasatch National Forest spans through Alta, and if you're looking for something to do outdoors that doesn't involve hurtling down a slope, exploring the forest is a perfect way to spend the day.
  • Hike Sugarloaf Road: If it's a sunny winter day and you'd like to catch some rays, the locals will point you to Sugarloaf Road for a hike.

The town attracts visitors throughout the year, as the natural beauty of the Utah wilderness is well worth visiting during the spring and summer when the slopes are closed. Accommodation options abound in Alta, but if you want to maximize your relaxation and enjoy extra privacy, your best bet is a vacation rental. You can choose from apartments or condos if you're with a smaller group, or opt for a spacious villa with plenty of space for storing your ski gear. If you're craving the adventure and excitement of the big city, you can always make a day trip or a weekend jaunt to nearby Salt Lake City. The cosmopolitan metropolis is only 25 miles to Alta's northwest.
