About Ponce Inlet

Located in Volusia County, Ponce Inlet was once a fishing camp and hunting ground belonging to the Native Americans.

The area was known as Los Mosquitoes by the Spanish when they came along. In 1926, the name was changed to Ponce de Leon Inlet, which is the site of Ponce Inlet.
