Pedra Branca is a new exclusive front line development of 11 villas in Calhau- Sao Vicente, 15 minutes drive from the vibrant town of Mindelo and 10 Mins to Baia das Gates and 25 minutes from the airport. “Fantastic appartment”

We really enjoyed our stay at Pedra Branca in Oct/Nov 2012. My husband, daughter of 7 and stepson of 17 stayed at the apartment for 14 nights. Fantastically equipped apartment with everything you could need for your stay. There is a guard on duty twice a day, who although could not speak english...(hand language helped!!) was extremely helpful. The swimming pool was a big hit with both children. The apartment itself is located right by the beech, which is secluded- a little rocky but just a short walk brings you to some sand. If you are looking for a quiet, of the beaten track holiday destination than this is the apartment for you. Make sure you take instructions on how to get to the apartment as we found if you arrive in the dark, it is very difficult to find. Also as a tip of travelling to Cape Verde, do not take your money all in Euro's s as the guide book advised as you are better of using cash points when you are arrive or going to one of the banks in Mondelo to change money.

“Comfortable villa in out of the way spot”

We spent a week here and the villa offers everything it says - it is comfortable and well equipped and the owner is very helpful in offering advice and information. There is a good swimming pool and the complex in which it is situated is attractive and well maintained. It is, however, a bit remote down a beach side track ( the owner will let you have a video of the beach road which is very helpful), so be prepared for long walks down the beach and to enjoy the rather starkly beautiful surroundings. A car is essential so that you can run up to the civilisation of Mindelo (20 minutes) for restaurants and shops. Not much English is spoken round here - a Portuguese phrase book is essential and french is more widely understood

“More than meets the eye”

After finding the property, we were immediately wondering if we had the right place. It's off the beaten track and looks almost abandoned...however, once settled in, it's this sense of isolation that we most loved about the place. The accommodation is comfortable, great to have a pool, and some awesome beaches a couple of miles away where you can be completely alone. And after a quiet week, the weekends come a bit more alive with restaurants opening and serving some great food.
