Description

The Paddtfield Hideaway and Octagon Retreat is a comforting rural idyll away from crowds, noise, pollution and stress. It has an aura of belonging and welcoming. Windows, balconies and verandas overlook a paddy field that a farmer cultivates by hand, as his ancestors have done for seven hundred years.

Guests have free use of the Octagon: a sublime space for calming down, for feeling well, relieved of anxiety and pressure. Designed by an Irish poet in 2012 for meditation or yoga, for reading or writing, painting or playing a musical instrument, and for sitting still. Standing on the brow of a circular tea-garden contoured with stone paths that prevent erosion in thunderstorms, the Octagon has a commanding view of wooded hills and cultivated valleys that will uplift your heart.

We welcome the elderly or anyone in need of special care. All our water comes from own deep spring well. We can provide full board at little more than the cost of food to visitors' taste.
