“Great location”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

Overall we had a nice time. The location was perfect, just one house back from the beach. The beach is private which is nice but the neighbor two houses down kicked my 5 year old and I off "his" section of the beach as we were strolling along looking for shells. Apparently the rule at the cape is that owners have rights down to the low tide mark not high tide like the rest of the country. He was less then pleasant about it. Inside the two baths was a plus. The house was well appointed with nice decore. A big negative was that there was not enough seating for the 6 of us to eat together at the dining table or to relax together in the living room area. Also, there was no outdoor eating area. Nice decks but too small for a table. The futons are as hard as a rock and not suitable for an adult to sleep on for a week. The two full beds and pull out sofa were fine.

“Beautiful Home & Location!”

The photographs don't do this spacious, contemporary home justice ... a wonderful week in East Sandwich ... just 84 steps over the dune to the beach ... 360* views from two wrap-around decks ... bird-watching just across the street in the marsh ... beautiful. Two bedrooms have doors for privacy and the 3rd space is large and great for kids.

“Ideal family cottage”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

We have stayed in tis cottage for the past few years and it is ideal for our family set up (mother downstairs us and kids upstairs) and is a good value for the price. Although not ocean front it's close enough that it doesn't bother us. We needed to call Sand Dollar because there was no propane tank and they made sure to bring us one the next day. The back entrance was totally overgrown with shrubs and bushes and could not be used-they brought us small pruning shears but they weren't big enough to do the job so hopefully was taken care of for the next renters coming in. The cottage was very clean upon chek in. Overall a very nice vacation and we plan to stay here again next summer.

“ideal cottage for family with younger children”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2011

We have been staying st this beach for years and this is the second year we have stayed in this cottage. This year we arrived 20 minutes before the 2:30 check in and were asked to wait seemingly for no reason Until exactly 2:30 as the rest of our party waited at the cottage and there was nobody there cleaning or anything. We found the cottage was not thoroughly cleaned this year with dirty dishes left in the dishwasher and the bathrooms having hair and sand on the floor. Garbage had been left outside of the outside bin. pros: Very nice cottage. Nice decks/balconies. The loft area upstairs and master bedroom has been ideal for us with our 2 children while my mother has taken the room downstairs. This is the best beach at the Cape-very private and close to restaurants, etc. Quiet and quaint but not too far from Hyannis and other busier areas. Even though cottage is by the road, it is only a short walk down the path to the beach. Compared to many of our previous cottages, this is newer and updated and has the comforts that come with it (washer, dryer, dishwasher) Cons: The wooden spiral stairs have been a little tough to deal with having a toddler and we ended up having to block the bottom off both years. There really isn't a family area to sit down and eat as a family-a small glass table with two uncomfortable chairs (one broken) or a counter with stools. We've always had an outdoor shower or a spicket at previous cottages and really have missed this as a way to rinse off sandy kids after the beach! No aC and the upstairs can get really hot-only one small fan was at the cottage so we were sure to bring our own this year. Not a lot of furniture to sit in overall so this year we made sure to bring our folding chairs...not too much time spent inside but it's nice to have someplace to sit and drink coffee in the morning or a place to be comfortable when it rains. Overall- very good value-just need to bring a few things from home to make more comfortable.

“Great Family Vacation”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2010

Courteous online service and courteous, helpful in person service, made us feel welcome. Beautifully appointed beach house. The decks afforded scenic, hypnotic views. the trip to Logan airport is unbelievably easy and quick. The location is fantastic (eighty steps to the beach, I counted!).Windows open, bullfrogs, birds, crickets...mmm
