Description

The house is in Monument Beach, which is in the town of Bourne. We are just over the Bourne Bridge on a lovely bay that opens into Buzzards Bay. It is a classic beach house built around 1910, with a private beach. We are owners, not property managers. We respond quickly to all inquiries.

The house is relatively large, with a deep porch wrapping around half its perimeter, most of which faces the beach. All of the rooms have picture windows, and three of the four bedrooms have stellar water views. The fourth bedroom looks out onto the park and tennis courts. You are an easy drive to everywhere - take a trip to Martha's Vineyard for an ice cream cone, cruise the Canal, take the Cape Cod Dinner Train, do a day trip to the National Seashore and Provincetown or just sit on a lounge chair and read until sunset when it is time for "drinks and dinner on the veranda". You can walk to a bakery, pizza place, and a fantastic ice cream shop. Nearby is the Lobster Trap where you can buy great local seafood or eat on the deck overlooking Back River and the harbor. There are tons of local options for food and entertainment.

The house is situated on Phinney’s Harbor, which is the first harbor south of the Canal on Buzzards Bay on the Cape side of the Bridge. It is a gorgeous harbor with warm water and terrific conditions for children, sailing, kayaking, and fishing. The harbor is tidal and the beach is rocky at low tide - lots of fun for exploring and collecting snails and such. The house is West facing, and blessed with perfectly stellar sunsets.

Two bedrooms have queen size beds, one has two twins, and the last sleeps 3: a single and a trundle bed. There are two full baths and an outdoor shower for after swimming cleanup. The kitchen is fully equipped. You will find a large dining room, living room with 2 seating areas and a flat-screen TV, a quiet den looking out on the water, and lots of chairs on the large porch. All linens (sheets and towels) are included as well as beach towels. We also have wi-fi and cable TV.

This house is NOT available for weddings or any kind of party. No Exceptions. We value our friendships with our neighbors and will have to say no to your request.

PLEASE NOTE: Effective 1/1/2019 the state of Massachusetts has levied a new state tax of 5.7% on all short-term rentals and a Wastewater Treatment Tax for Cape and Islands of 2.75% and Bourne collects a 4% lodging tax. This 12.45% tax is applicable to every rental that begins on or after July 1, 2019. There is no way on this site to correctly make this tax only apply to those rentals booked for after 7/1/19. If you are requesting to book a stay prior to 7/1/19 please let me know and I will try to adjust accordingly or work with the site to get the pricing set up correctly. Please bear with us until the site sets up taxing correctly.

House rules

We do not allow parties of any kind on the property. It's a lovely spot but we do not ever allow weddings, showers, birthday parties, anniversaries or any other get together of more than the 9 person max for the house.

How do damage deposits work?
