- Very Good
Appreciated the perfectly placed fire pit, the woods for the kids to explore a little by the stream, the dock for the kids to fish, the kayaks were a special treat (need someone strong to get them in the water) and the public beach with raft. Unlike camping you get a totally private spot and to cook in a very nicely equipped kitchen and dine in or out as there are plenty of tables to choose from. A little musty in king bedroom but I just kept door open and was okay.
“Relaxing - quite - peaceful”
Love being able to eat all of our meals on the porch - next to the water. Love that the lake has no motorized boats. We saw eagle fishing the lake daily again just like last year. Also spent some time on brook - hiking and wading in the rocks. Great place to recharge batteries - get away from people, spend time in nature doing photography. Got great pictures of loon, eagle, frogs, and lilies. Love this rental - only 1.5 hours from our home - yet away from everything.
“Mother's Day Weekend”
We've made it a tradition to head up to the White Mountains each May with our young kids over Mother's Day 'weekend' to kick off the Spring and celebrate mom. We found the home to be clean and comfortable, with a very nicely outfitted kitchen. We used the kayak and canoes and fished for the rising trout and watched the resident loon. We had a fire inside the first night and outside the second night. (purchase wood locally and bring your own camp chairs). This home is close to North Woodstock and Lincoln and all the offerings of Franconia Notch. Really perfect and will look to come back again soon!
“We want to go back!”
We are a family of five, with three teenage sons - and we all had a wonderful week at the waterfront house. The house is spacious and lovely in a rustic kind of way, including a modern kitchen with all amenities. Most of all we loved the lake! It is stunningly beautiful. We had practically all our meals at the lovely deck, just watching the wonderful scenario. We saw lots of birds right from the deck, including crane and hummingbird. Our sons spend countless of hours swimming, playing and kayaking on the lake. The kayak and three canoes is a great asset, and the lake is perfect for swimming as well as for leisure-sailing. The location is great – secluded and serene, but only 15 min in car from the nice towns of Lincoln and Woodstock, where your can find shops, restaurants, launderette – and from where you can easily access lots of sights and attraction in the area. Alexander was helpful and quickly answered all question through mail or text. We all loved the house, and hope to go back!
“Overall our stay was excellent. We plan to return.”
Pros: -Great view. -Outdoor fire pit, feet from the water in a nice clearing. -You have a house up on the hill about 80 feet away? to your left, but there is noone to your right for a long ways. maybe half a mile? You feel like you have that part of the lake to yourself. -Large, covered back porch with a nice picnic table and good size gas grill. -Clean, nice sized place. Cons: Nothing major to speak of, this place is a bargin for the price. If I had to be pickey... 1. I would suggest putting up blinds for the two large windows overlooking the lake. It's a little unsettling to think that someone can be watching you from outside those windows at night while you are... watching TV etc... 2. The in door fireplace was kicking a little smoke back into the room, instead of going up the chimmeny. I thought I opened the fireplace flue all the way, but I'm not a pro at this so it may of been me, not the fireplace. 3. The right side of the porch is a little warped when you first come up the stairs. Also, the 4x4's coming down on the concrete sonotubes (concrete that porch sits on) under the porch are not centered and look like they slid forward to the front of the sonotubes a few inches. The stairs / porch are sturdy and seem solid / safe to me.
“Great place half way between Burlington, VT and Boston”
My husband recently turned 40 and I was looking for a place that was half way between Burlington, VT and Boston as we have many friends in both locations. The Mirror Lake house was not only in the perfect location, but it was a great price for the accommodations. Several friends were able to visit just for the day and several were able to stay the night as there was ample space to sleep and congregate. The kitchen was well equipped not only with cooking supplies, but also staples like sugar and some spices. The only thing missing was a blender! Although we stayed in mid-April (a mixture of mud, snow, and rain), we most certainly will rent this lake house again when the weather is warmer in order to enjoy the lake and the surroundings. Thank you again for making this landmark birthday a success!
“Everything you could ever want...”
Was looking for a great cabin experience near Loon Mountain and boy did I find it. Stayed with 5 others in this amazing cabin right on the edge of the lake and minutes away from the mountain. Beautiful views, clean and cozy cabin and working fire place! Kitchen and bathroom are perfect and beds were comfortable. I forgot the code to the door upon arrival late at night so I called the manager of the property and they answered their phone and helped me in. All in all amazing experience!
We rented the cabin for 4 of us but it could comfortably accommodate at least 10 I would say. The property was very clean, kitchen had everything we needed and all appliances were new. The living space was very comfortable. Every morning we woke up and had our coffee on the porch overlooking the sunrise on the lake, it was beautiful! Although we came in the winter we noticed there were kayaks in the back and definitely want to come back to use them. We all had a great time. The owner of the property was always accommodating and available via phone/ text/ email.
“A great cabin in a wonderful area”
This is a great cabin at a very nice lake. The cabin is very big, clean and up to date with everything (wifi, new kitchen, tv, dvd, hifi system, etc.). Close to nice towns, ski areas and hiking trails. We had a great long weekend and will be back soon.
“Cabin in a great location. Bald Eagle sighting”
Five of us from New York City and albany NY went to alex's Cabin for the Weeekend. We had a great time fishing, grilling and going up to the State Park. This was Oct 2013 so the fireplace was amazing to have and the atmoshere of the Cabin was perfect. A much enjoyed Vacation in NH. Next year we are going for the Ropes Course.
