Nestled in the Santithani hilltops, our estate offers full privacy, safety, and the convenience of a nearby beach, restaurants, spas, shops and other amenities. Inspired by a Mediterranean motif, this custom-built home was designed to accommodate comfort and outdoor living, optimizing sunlight and sunset views. The vibrant decor merges with the lush landscape everywhere you look. Spacious and practical, the open living concept with high vaulted ceilings offers what's needed within sight and reach. Furnished with the main purpose of ease and functionality, the interior is subtle yet elegant.

The residence consists of the main house with an open living area on the main floor and two bedrooms with ensuites on the second level. A guest wing -- connected by a terrace and outdoor dining beneath -- features two bedrooms with ensuites on two separate levels, allowing for full privacy for guests.

A large garden surrounding the house practically conceals it from view. On a busy day, one may spot few cars passing by on the below access road winding through the hills -- mostly neighbors or maintenance staff making their rounds. Yet the house feels sheltered even from this infrequent passage.

The garden is a mix of indigenous trees and planted bougainvilleas, cacti, and fragrant Cambodia trees added for contrast and a touch of flare. Mango, coconut, papaya trees continuously produce seasonal fruits -- for our enjoyment.

LOCATION: Santithani estate is a residential community up the hills from the Bang Po beach on the north west tip of Samui. The community -- represented by 15 or so nationalities -- includes over 90 private villas, each individually custom designed and built, and all scattered and hidden in the lush hills. The estate is within 25 minutes from the Samui International Airport, five minutes down the hill from a nearly deserted beach, Bang Por (with beachfront restaurants and SPAs) and a short boat ride to nearby islands of Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Angthong National Marine Park. It is professionally managed and guarded by a Thai British property management firm, Coconut Hills, which also offers various other services, such as car rentals, child care, chefs, massages, pre-arrival grocery shopping among others.

Although distances are short to many destinations, renting a car is strongly recommended for ease of mobility and given the hilly terrain of the estate. Some may find the driving through our hills intimidating, at least at first. We see it as a blessing, as this tends to reduce driving speeds and make hiking through the estate that much safer.

You will note that our rates are lower in comparison to other similar villas. This is so because we rent our holiday home mainly to cover the maintenance and upkeep. That can add up in the tropics of course, especially since our goal is to ensure the best condition and as many upgrades and services as possible.

We can even offer lower rates for ecologically minded guests with low AC use! If you're one, be sure to let us know. The surest way to acclimate in the tropics is to open all doors (securing with hooks/chains) and let the wind do its job. On exceptionally hot days (mainly in April), jumping into the pool will be even more effective. We use ACs only in the bedrooms at night (set at 25-26C with fans).

In a nutshell, we are happy to share our happy home with our friends and those like-minded travelers who sense that Enchanted Hills is the right place for them.

Getting around

A complimentary round trip airport transfer is provided as part of our welcome. Once at the house for more than few days, you'll want to explore beyond and transport will be needed due to the hilly nature of our village. Unlike the great taxi prices in Bangkok, Samui taxis are expensive, Baht 300 - 750 (US$10-25) one way, depending on distance. It's also costly to have a standby taxi to drive around the island. Most guests rent a car as the safest way to explore. Some tourists rent motorbikes but we don't recommend them due to the high number of related accidents and fatalities.Our house manager can arrange for a car for Baht 1200 - 1300 a day, depending on car size. You can also rent cars from Budget, Avis, etc.at the airport upon arrival

Interaction with guest

As owners currently living in South America, we will communicate with our guests online. Our good friend and house manager, Emma, lives in the village and manages many of the holiday villas. We'll put you in touch with Emma and she will arrange your airport pick up and check-in in advance. Depending on your arrival time and advance arrangements made, you can expect the guest relations manager, Au, to greet you and explain the basics -- either on arrival or the morning of next day.

How do damage deposits work?

If Eva (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
