Description

Dolphin Vista is on a waterfront lot on a canal that connects directly to the Texas Intracoastal Waterway just two minutes away. You can relax with fishing and crabbing off the private dock. Catch the sunset from the back deck overlooking the canal. From the large front deck you can see dolphins swimming alongside the big tug boats on the Intracoastal Waterway or watch a fast deep-sea fishing boat skim by. A section of the front deck has a roof with 5 chairs and table for shaded outdoor comfort. A 5 minute drive over the big bridge (great view!) puts you on Surfside Beach where you can drive your car right up to the waters edge and setup your family fun site. Galveston Island is 20 minutes along the beach road. Galveston Seawall restaurants are about 35 minutes away.

Dolphin Vista has free satellite TV for entertainment. Pets are allowed for an extra fee. If some of the days you want are booked on the calendar, please send us a message. Sometimes it's family or friends and we can move them to let you in.

This house is not the typical sandy, worn-out beach cabin. It is fully furnished and decorated; with all appliances except a dishwasher. We have safe Freeport city water, not funny tasting well water like many beach houses. DISH satellite TV is in the living room and both bedrooms. Also, the living room has a futon with a full size mattress that seats four and sleeps two at night. The house has been fully updated and has two layers of siding plus new Pella double pane windows and patio door. This makes it super quiet inside when you shut all the doors and windows. Or open everything up and it feels like an giant umbrella at the shore. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. And kids can sleep on the two sofas. There are also two LuxuryLite Cots that can be used inside or outside for relaxing or sleeping.

The neighborhood is quiet and Dolphin Lane ends in a cull-de-sac one block past the house so the streets are very safe for biking, scooters, skateboards and walking. Mature tall palm trees rustle in the seabreeze while you relax on the front or rear deck. Each deck has a stairway. The home is a non-smoking house, but there are lots of shaded outside places to take a puff. The neighborhood is mostly homeowners and is very quiet and private.

You can book deep sea or bay fishing trips or you can dock your boat at our 35 foot dock with a bow-in tie up so low tide will not get you stuck.

The driveway is HUGE... so big you could park two 40ft motorhomes side by side, plus a couple of cars. The house has central air and heat and has lots of screened vinyl Pella windows for those cool spring and fall days. The prevailing seabreeze blows straight into the front door and out the back door and windows. The kitchen and the living room have vaulted ceilings; and each has a big skylight that makes it feel like you are outside with the sun beams moving across the room making it feel like you are outside.

The owners Bruce and Debbie have run a Bed&Breakfast in Lake Jackson for many years and the family does all the maintenance and cleaning. We don't hire cleaning crews so no chance of bedbugs being brought in. Dolphin Vista feels like home. We keep the house well maintained and spiffy so you have fun, fun, fun! Check-in is 3:00pm or later and checkout is 11:00am or earlier. There is an electronic combination lock so you don't have to worry about losing the key or accidentally driving back home with the keys in your pocket.

You can use skateboards, scooters, and bikes on the road to the house. You need a car to go to the beach or the local stores.

Interaction with guest

We live only 20 minutes to the north; we are not far away investors. We are happy to answer your questions about restaurants and stores locally or in Galveston. We also rent camper trailers that we can setup right on Surfside Beach so you can spend a whole day (or night) with bathroom/shower/kitchen/refrigerator/air conditioner. Or we can setup a camper under the house if you need room for a surprise guest.

How do damage deposits work?

If Debbie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
