Spacious Historic Hyde Park Bungalow (780 sq ft)

Austin house

“Wonderful spot in Austin!” I stayed at this rental in Hyde Park for two weeks in September. It met my expectations and more. The rental was quiet, and well kept. In fact it was spotless inside! The kitchen was basically equipped but I had the essentials for making my own meals. The neighborhood is great and I would go for walks each day in the neighborhood meeting lots of friendly Austinites! Pete is a fantastic property manager and replied very quickly to any concerns I had. This is a great place to stay that is just out of downtown yet close to several restaurants and grocery stores. Also near bus routes if you don't have a car. Loved it. I will be back!

“SoCo Studio is The Place !!!” We had a wonderful stay with Jana. She and Barkley(her precious dog) offered a comfortable, clean and amazing stay ! The backyard and deck area were fantastic! The shower was amazing(better than mine at home) and the fluffy towels were great! The studio is close to everything. Thanks Jana for the amazing stay and being such a lovely host !

“Location, ammenities, comfort!” Laura's helpful, friendly manner made us feel welcome even before we arrive. Her beautiful home is centrally located with tons of room for everyone to spread out and relax. The beds were very comfortable, so we all got a good night's sleep which is a must for me with my bad back. The living room is spacious and open with a two story ceiling and lots of comfortable seating. I particularly enjoyed the clean, well equipped kitchen. With a small grocery just a convenient walk away, we were able to easily relax and "eat in" for a few meals and the back patio was perfect for conversation and drinks after dinner. We also enjoyed a long walk though the trees in Pease Park which is just a couple of blocks away. More ambitious souls jogged or biked but it was so pretty and peaceful we just took our time. An austin treasure tucked away on a quiet street just minutes from downtown and the UT campus, this is definitely a 5 star rental. We plan to rebook this gem next time we come to town for UT football games!

“Home away from home” The appartment was very clean upon arrival and everything was exactly as presented on this website. The rooms were very spacious, the kitchen fully equipped and the walk-in closit was huge. We felt right at home in no time. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Austin and surroundings. There is a bus stop right around the corner, which will get you to the university and downtown Austin in only 15 minutes. A supermarket, bakery with delicious cookies and several restaurants are within a short walk.

“Honest operation, owners are exceptional people, property as adv” Enjoyed out stay in austin. Property was as advertised and in great location. My daughter left her wallet in the rental house and house keeping turned in the wallet to the owners aditya & Paole who properly contacted us and mailed wallet to us, awesome. I would not hesitate to schedule my next stay at location. Overall, great experience with people you can trust.

“Quiet Bungalow in convenient neighborhood” I stayed at this home for 4 nights with my friend for an extended weekend holiday. The photos are pretty accurate of what you will be getting. It's a duplex with a master bedroom at the top floor. Please note that there is no door to this bedroom, it's basically in a converted attic space. There are 2 other beds on the ground floor next to the dining area. I love the cute IKEA furnishings and well stocked kitchen. My friend and I were so happy to have pots and cooking tools to make breakfast after stopping by the Saturday farmer's market and Antoinelle's cheese shop. There is a laundry room outside of the house that is located in a separate garage. Bring your own detergent and flashlight. Pete was super helpful throughout the booking process.

About Austin

Founded in a curve of the Colorado River in 1839, Austin, TX owes most of its ensuing growth to the University of Texas, established here in 1883. Janis Joplin and Willie Nelson both launched their careers in the independent music venues of Austin, and up-and-coming musicians follow in their footsteps every year. Austin is rapidly becoming known for its vibrant music scene influenced by indie rock, Latin rhythms, jazz, ska, Texas country, and more. The free creative spirit and cultural mix of Austin may have arisen from a combination of University culture, southwestern heat, east coast capitalistic sensibilities, and rugged Texas adaptability, but whatever originally inspired the unique cultural flavor of this place, Austin has developed its own identity by now and the people here will let you know. Austin is proud of its contributions to music and art and its dedication to quality of life.

Here are a few things to do in and around the city:

  • Hike and bike the trails around Ladybird Lake: Ten miles of trails wind around Ladybird Lake in the center of downtown Austin. Stop and view the memorial to Stevie Ray Vaughn on Auditorium Shore.
  • McKinney Falls: View the spectacular waterfalls in the 635 acres of McKinney Falls State Park.
  • Play golf: Falconhead, Plum Creek, and Teravista are some of the best known golf courses in Austin.
  • Museums: Visit the Blanton Museum of Art and the Bob Bullock State History Museum for starters.
  • Live music: Don't leave the live music capital of the world without seeing a few shows. Check the performance schedules at Broken Spoke, Austin City Limits, and the Elephant Room.

The best way to fully experience Austin is to stay for a while. Find a vacation rental downtown and take in the music scene and the nightlife of a town that seems slightly and delightfully out of step with the rest of Texas. Whether you explore Austin for just a few days or rent a beautiful lakeside villa and stay for the entire summer, be sure you make the most of your visit. By the time you leave, you may already be planning a return trip.

Escaping the RI Winter in Austin, Texas

The house was located in a quiet residential neighborhood with a perfect fenced in yard for our Golden Doodle. Hubby was able to work seamlessly with the Wi-Fi connection. The home was nicely appointed with every amenity needed: washer/dryer, fire pits, multiple tvs, good towels, etc. We enjoyed our 2 warm February weeks in this rental home and would choose it again in the future.see more

Charming Cottage Great Downtown Location - Veteran Owned - Yard - EV Charger
Keen Cozy Cottage

Small, but clean, nicely furnished two bedroom-one bath cottage. Plenty of room for our two dogs, my wife and I for our ten day stay. Interesting re-model of a sixty-plus year old house. Small, but complete fenced yard allowed our dogs to get around unleashed. We were fascinated by the vaulted ceiling of the main room with old windows into the enclosed attic above the bedrooms. Modern AC (good thermostat control), plumbing and appliances. Well provisioned with linens, towels, soap, kitchen supplies and even toothpaste! Washer & dryer in a attached room was not as inconvenient as it might sound. Off-street parking was a plus because Waterston is a narrow, but well traveled street. Three great restaurants about two blocks away have limited parking so patrons park along the street. In addition to the three restaurants (Cipollina, Josephines and Jefferys) at the end of Waterston, several others near by plus a great coffee shop (Medici) within easy walking distance of the cottage. The neighborhood is a great place to walk - even without the company of dogs. Nearby Clarksville park has a great open space (not leash-free, but it had a convenient dog station) Modern high speed wifi and a Vizio smart TV that only had Direct TV, but access to Netflix and Amazon Prime (for members). Perfect place for a small family, an older couple with pet(s) or romantic get away for those who looking for that sort of place. Great property manager accommodated all our needs despite a little hiccup during the reservation process - something beyond his control, but things worked out for the best. Only negative was the weather - unusually rainy for Austin in September which inspired the mosquitos, but a little spray and repellant kept them at bay.see more
